Ever been ejected from a match ?
East Langton Fox replied to VintageFox73's topic in Leicester City Forum
I was refused entry at Bournemouth, bank holiday Monday 1988. I may be one year out. down for the weekend and had some dealings with the local coppers Sunday night. Just a few words of encouragement to get back to my hotel whilst some of the more brazen. Of the City faithful were running amok in town. Anyway 10 pints Monday lunchtime rendered me totally pissed and 2 out of the 5 of us were not let in the away end. So we tried the home end and one of the coppers recognised us from the previous night. We would be arrested if we didn't leave the area immediately so we went to the nearest off-licence (this was the eighties!) and listened to the game on the radio in Dean Park. We win 3-2. Cracking weekend . -
Isn't that what we all thought last time we went down?

Having missed only one home game and seen us away at Walsall, Man U and Brentford I've seen the mostly bad and occasionally good this season. Cooper had lost the players and the crowd. He had to go. The board took a chance on a name with RVN. No Premier League experience and that is now showing. He is learning on the job. We are playing better football than we were under Cooper but without the quality we will inevitably go down . Any business will only be successful if it lead properly and our leaders are failing. Look at Everton, been failing for years. Now that they have been taken over they might have a chance of improving. We wont until there is a complete change at the top.

Liverpool 3-1 LCFC, post match thread
East Langton Fox replied to Phil Mitchell's topic in Leicester City Forum
Yesterday was the fourtieth anniversary of me and my mates first trip to Anfield. Lunchtime kick off, early start from home. Car broke down on the M6, arrived half an hour after kick off. We were leading but the away end was locked so we had to stand at the back of the cop. Andrews played a blinder in the second half and we held on to win. Had to keep our gobs shut until well clear of Anfield, happy days. -
I was there today and it was bad. Faes had another poor game. As Matt Piper recently said on Radio Leicester, he thinks he's better than he is.

Despite the 5-2 scoreline I think we can get something from this on Sunday. For 20 minutes in the second half we controlled the play, albeit we didn’t create a lot. They are very dangerous going forward and will score but looked wide open at the back at times. It’s a question of whether we can score as many as them .

Post match - Man Utd Carabao Cup - 5-2 loss

Just got home from the game. Feared the worst when I saw the team sheet Soumare and Ayew over best players. Ward did ok in goal, Okoli is one of the worst defenders we have ever had. First 15 minutes of the second half we were bright and looked good but lack of quality in the box let us down. I still think we can do enough to stay up but we have to defend better -
Southampton 2 - 3 Leicester POST MATCH
East Langton Fox replied to SecretPro's topic in Leicester City Forum
Spot on. We came back against Spurs in the opening game and at half time I still thought we could get something out of this. I’ve seen many City teams that would have given up. Cooper has his faults but his players do have a never say die attitude. -

Have a look at The saintsweb fans forum. Swap Cooper for Martin and it’s a carbon copy of ours after a last minute home defeat. Toxic. -

The players looked embarrassed when Ward saved the third penalty. So they should. What a shocking performance. Edouard was the worst, although it could have been any one of them apart from the hero of the night. Who would have thought it! -
Tottenham (H) - Mon 19 Aug 8pm - Pre-Match Thread

Maddison was one of the very few players who looked as though they gave a toss during the final games of the season. -
Imagine if we got something against Spurs! What would all those predicting the end of the world, or at least our world, say to that. We are not dead yet.

Just seen the interview with Cooper post match. By all accounts it would have been difficult to be positive about very much but I saw a man in a state of PANIC. I wasn’t unhappy with his appointment although I was at Shrewsbury and left feeling underwhelmed by the performance. However my optimism of a few weeks ago is now being tested.

Ex Managers - They used to manage us
East Langton Fox replied to davieG's topic in Leicester City Forum
He did what was asked of him and then left for a bigger shinier club. It happens. It was a job and something better came along. Thats it! -
Good turn out from the faithful tonight. Well done to everybody who made the trip.

Looking forward to Shrewsbury on Tuesday. I’ve seen us there before, back in the early nineties when they played at the wonderfully named Gay Meadow. I think we lost. Nice ground and all the locals were very friendly as I recall.

Me too and about 50 city fans as I recall. Very underwhelming.
