Cardiff (A) 0-2 - 29 Dec - Post-Match Thread
East Langton Fox replied to lnkstern's topic in Leicester City Forum
I’m at Strensham services. First McD’s since Cardiff so it’s full of Leicester. Great support tonight and they never really threatened. Hamza was excellent and Mavadidi had another good game. Great strike from JJ. -
My only trip to Cardiff was our first game after Vichai died. Their fans and stewards were extremely generous in their sympathy and we all had T-shirts in memory of him, I still wear mine occasionally. We won and when the payers came over at the end we sang long and loud. It was a wonderful, memorable trip. Even Warnock said some nice things.

I lost count of the number of attacks that broke down when the ball was passed to Daka. He has pace but lacks control.
-
Tonight was a great opportunity in a wide open game for Daka to perform. He didn’t.

I remember being on a minibus after losing 2 0 at Oxford in the FA Cup. There were fans jumping off the floodlights at the Cuckoo Lane End as we were so poor and it was more entertaining than the game We stopped in Banbury and some of the headbangers went looking for a fight. A couple of us found a quiet pub and kept our heads down.

St Andrews in the nineties. Train to New Street then a long walk to the ground with police escort. Watched closely by the Zulu warriors the whole way.

Supporters coach to Ayresome Park, Middlesbrough last game of the season 1987/88. They only needed a draw for automatic promotion and we won, spoiling their party completely. Their fans were trying to scale the fences at the end to get to us. Coins flying in at every angle. Coaches were right by the exit doors and we had a police escort all the way to the A1. Exciting times!

Millwall, FA Cup 3rd round early nineties. Changed at St Pancras. I remember being on a concourse at a tube station in south London along with a couple of hundred City fans and one copper. Maybe it was two, but I remember feeling like we were very much on our own in enemy territory. Rambo was sent off, we lost and I couldn’t wait to get home.

I want my money back😫

We made a poor side look reasonable tonight and if they had a decent striker they would have been out of sight within the first 10 minutes. Mavadidi couldn’t have beaten an egg tonight and we were very short up front. Although Vestergaard was caught on the ball a couple of times he was always in the right place and was of the few who had a reasonable game. A good turn out from the faithful and those of us who were there deserved better.

I was at the 3-3 preseason friendly a couple of years ago. Old style ground, fans near the pitch. Should be a good day . not worried about any banana skins.

Excellent performance against a decent side. Nice interview with Pearson after the game on the EFL highlights. Top man -
My 24 year old son was telling me after the Cov game how worked up he was when we scored the winner, somewhat embarrassed by his own behaviour. He was caught up in the moment so I don’t get too worked up about a kid less than half his age doing the same.

Inconsistent during the game. Has pace but was out running the defence rather than beating them one on one. Nice lay off for KDH’s second. Hopefully better than Tete who was a one game wonder.

Favourite players throughout your City years

Always gave 110% and could mix it with the best. 3-3 v Arsenal at Filbo springs to mind. -
I was impressed with Winks. Polar opposite of Tielemans last season in terms of looking for the ball and wanting to do something positive with it. He dropped off second half but overall a very positive start by him.

James Maddison completes move to Spurs

I for one wish him all the best, despite the shocking penalty against Everton. He has been one of our best players in a calamitous season and on his day can win a game single handed. Compare him to Tielemans who switched off months ago. -
Pre season friendly a couple of years ago. Nice to stand in a standing area as opposed to a seating area.
-
I remember it well. One of my away trips with my two lads. I pointed out that not all away trips are as good as this.

Manager for the Championship rebuild - who do you want?
East Langton Fox replied to Happy Fox's topic in Leicester City Forum
If this does happen, which it looks like it will then it’s the sort of departure from the norm that we need. As has been said already he may need time and that’s dictated by the fans. The heart of the club and we like all fans are fickle. So let’s give the man the time he needs. At least he will get a pre season and a clean slate with at least some of the dead wood leaving. -
Favourite moments from last season

No, I’m neither, I just remember a highlight from this season. Im in Romania, travelling on business and feeling tired and emotional. -
The worst season for a long time but my favourite is the equaliser at Elland Road late on. Vardy and Maddison celebrating in front of their kop before us.. it’s my screensaver
