  1. What? We've seen Real come back from worst but not against...well...not amazing opposition
  2. Great. Now I've got the Van Gaal "sex masochism" quote in my head.
  3. 16.25 miles yesterday. Definitely need more water for those last 3 miles. I can get through a sports Evian bottle size in around 12 miles and have to start rationing. Legs are holding out. Started iffy but by mile 4-5 they settled in. As much as I'd like to get a 4 hour marathon, I want to just finish the damn thing!
  4. Having seen the scores, am I right in thinking it will be Liverpool game that sends us down?
  5. No. This is pre-roller. I'm saying I'll use them now.
  6. I do about 50 mins each way, once a week - leaving just after 7am and getting home just before 5pm. That wipes me out. Can't imagine being in a car 5 hours a day, all week is good for your health or your legs.
  7. Who wants to commute 100 miles a day FFS? Madness
  8. It won't work, though
  9. I clocked 106 miles over March in marathon prep. Christ. My legs really starting to feel it so twice a week I'm doing a good 15-20 stretch and roller session at the gym.
  10. Andrew Ryan had charisma and at least some coherence
  11. This is absolutely insane. Beyond belief.
  12. I briefly had a look at the lineup and didn't expect to see us 1-0 down within 2 minutes. I never expected to be a millionaire either, so who knows...
  13. Completely forgot the league was back, as was out with mates. Just get it over with.
  14. It also needs a good chunk of people to do it. The real kicker is tech. We need Europe to step up and make alternatives, even if they're a bit rubbish.
  15. Correct. 5 rounds (9 games) from Sept - May. The difference was that the quality of teams from other countries was much poorer and travel was harder. The league was also 42 games, as opposed to 38. But other teams, such as us, get through 6 games by December and 8 by Feb. If you are a winner you have a total of 13 games, minimum. What they achieved was very good but cannot be compared. Aston Villa winning it this year would be the closest to our league win that another team could get.
  16. 15 miles today. Numerous hills (unavoidable where I live) and took it steady. Probably my slowest average pace for a while but after the midweek issues with my calf, I'm glad I forced myself to relax. Any advice for nutrition on those longer runs?
  17. Given the declining birth rate, it will most likely be unpleasant for my generation (born in 80s and 90s) but I see it as a bottleneck that should hopefully break. I would hope that by about 2060/70, numbers will have started to even out. I'll be at the end of my life and the next lot of old people after me should be fewer in number.
  18. Well we know why the lettuce fits in so well...
  19. Bloody calf has gone tight. Lefty. I'm stretching but I wonder if it's getting to the point of overuse in the training programme. I might have to dial down midweek runs and just focus on the big ones at weekends.
  20. In all of this, the thing that winds me up most is how a majority of fans are ridiculously defensive of their owners. Admittedly, some have more reason to be so than others. But Newcastle, Forest and a few others need to recognise who their clubs are owned by. Even KP have questionable ties and practices in Thailand.
  21. He's not going anywhere. The higher ups can stomach one managerial change but not 2 in a season. They probably know this is a very slow car crash into the wall of relegation so no point avoiding it. Maybe they think just take the EPL money, let contracts lapse and then kid themselves that was the plan all along.
