  1. 2-1 Blackburn we are going downnnn
  2. 1-1, we are staying upppp
  3. Blackburn 1-0 up
  4. Thread is absolutely dead, says it all really
  5. Meanwhile in the real world, LCFC have just dropped into the Championship relegation zone for the first time in 16 years. Shameful.
  6. My condolences to anyone who has travelled just to see Ayew start again
  7. To have gone, in five years, from winning the whole bloody thing to wishing this game wasn't happening so we can focus on avoiding relegation to League One... well if that doesn't sum up the sheer state of the club these past few years I don't know what does.
  8. Whip down your boxers and place one either side of the old Rudkin - they'll just think you've got massive knackers.
  9. A few people have mentioned the concept of saving face in Thai Culture when discussing protests, and the idea of trying to expose the piss-poor running of the club to people and authorities in Thailand in some way or form. Worth remembering that it's something that extends to everyone in Thailand, from the King down to some dude selling duck eggs on a street market. In the case of King Power's administration (and we should really be calling it that), Methven mentioned them being deemed "too big to fail" by the authorities, which is why they were railroaded into their rescue package with the Airport Authority. It's likely that the optics of one of Thailand's biggest companies collapsing in on itself, and one with a footprint on the global stage through airports and ourselves, would have been a major embarrasment to the country and authorities as a whole. A less publicly-visible company with less intricate ties to the authorities and Thailand's public image abroad would most likely have been left to go to the wall. I'd love to know what the folks pulling the strings in government and the royal family really think of Top's stewardship. That they've essentially forced him to be sidelined from the main business speaks volumes.
  10. Thing is, Methven is not using it as an excuse - rather, he's saying what those of us who have been paying attention already know, which is that when they faced the crossroads that Covid presented they chose to double down on their Airport business over the domestic market, which would have been foolish even at cut rates. Somehow, they ended up paying more for the privelege. It's actually unbelievable just how bad a decision that was - it would have put them on shaky ground even without the pandemic having thrown the likelihood of growth up in the air, and them abandoning their domestic market at the precise point that most businesses in their sector started to pivot more towards it says everything. A comparison I always make is Don Quiote in Japan - granted, they aren't specifically an airport business, but they offer duty free shopping as well as catering to domestic shoppers. Since the pandemic, they've been able to harness the tourist boom and they're in the best financial position they've ever been in, in a national economy that's been struggling for decades at that - all because they targeted tourists in their domestic space. The number of tourists visiting Thailand is almost exactly the same as Japan are getting right now - here's 2024's figures in millions. King Power had that in their own market and threw it away to pay exorbitant rates to hopefully attract transient Chinese tourists who may well have been en route elsewhere and less inclined to spend in their airports. People have simply changed their spending habits when travelling - airports aren't the place most do their shopping any more. There's something to be said for Thailand having far more draconian import charges than Japan which pushes the cost of luxury goods up, but that's really not an issue for a duty free company - they have the financial muscle and favour from the authorities to pretty much undercut all competition in the country and they chose not to. I mentioned it in another thread the other day, but the way LCFC is run is a microcosm of King Power as a whole - they lag horribly behind the competition time and time again, and when business options present themselves they've gone for the most braindead one on the table every time. It should be shouted from the rooftops when KPFC types pipe up that King Power went into Administration due to their own business decisions - the murkiness of the Thai business world has simply obscured the fact.
  11. Look, I am as resigned to our fate as anyone right now, but hear me out. Cov's best season in 30 years, Forest's first in Europe in 30 years, and our worst season in nearly 20 years results in all three of us playing second tier football next season. Oh and Derby are there too I guess. We're looking more and more like the ones to ruin that equation, but my god it would be hilarious if that's how it pans out. As for Dyche, GERRIMIN
  12. Issue is, if the Prem is on the horizon again who's to say he won't decide to stick around? The whole thing seems to be a vessel for him to show off to his mates in Thai high society at this point, as the cringefest following promotion last time out showed. There surely comes a point where the lack of media exposure becomes terminal, which is why I agree that L1 relegation will accelerate a sale. In a different timeline where we went down and stayed down in that Great Escape season, himself (or I guess Vichai) would have lost interest and sold to the next interested party looking for a shiny toy. The Championship is now getting a little more exposure with improved TV deals and global airings but League One is the total doldrums. There isn't a soul outside of the most obsessive LCFC fanbase who will go to the trouble of trying to watch us in the third tier. The potential commercial revenue from brand exposure for Top and KP is basically zero.
  13. Can we revive the Preki rumour mill please? I just need a comfort blanket.
  14. Unbelievable that nobody's stuck around to do an impromptu one tonight really. I expected I'd see at least a handful on social media but nah, the usual bluster with no action. Passive, passive, passive. I'm seething, I'd be out there given the chance, luckily for me and Top's underwear I now live 100 miles away so knew better than to waste a 5-hour round trip on this basket case of a club. I'll be at Norwich though, for my sins. See you there folks. Stuff 'em.
  15. He goes down more than Leicester City themselves do, which is hard to do in the current circumstances.
  16. What pisses me off most is that we're probably going to go back there at the weekend and win comfortably in an FA Cup game that's ultimately meaningless. I'd have taken getting tonked 5-0 and dumped out over whatever the hell that was just then.
  17. "tonight's attendance - 28,039 - thank you all for your incredible support"
  18. Sorry Kingy, I love you but those subs in that situation was unforgiveable. I despise Top and Rudkin for making my favourite player of all time the fall guy for their incompetence. But keeping Okoli on the pitch and choosing Ayew over Richards was pure cowardice. He isn't what we need.
  19. There should be a f***ing riot outside the ground. There really should.
  20. CANCEL OKOLI'S CONTRACT FFS
  21. Bringing Ayew on is vomit inducing.
  22. Wow close for Daka... Is what I'd say if these shitehawk highlights weren't busy replaying the previous Saints chance!
  23. Okoli is such a donkey. Thank fook we at least have Lascelles now and won't see him every game.
  24. Okoli again after 10 minutes. Last man, half way line, rinse and repeat, another game where King has to manage a man down.
  25. Kristiansen pls, he can't possibly be any worse.
