I mean we all thought that about Vestergaard last time we went down, and he ended up being our best Centre Back that season. As long as we don't do anything daft like yknow, offer him a long contract after promotion while being fully aware of his limitations... we could do worse. It's not like LCFC have previous for that sort of braindead thinking... right?
-
Top on the other hand needs to get off it, it's clouding his judgement.

There isn't a chance in hell we can afford to spaff the lion's end of £20 million on a striker this window. I'd be amazed if we can afford to spend half of that on an individual player to be honest, at the very least if we must persist with having Daka on the books. Sounds like wibble from sources that have dug up our past links and haven't taken 2 minutes to research just what a financial hole we've put ourselves in.

A month's supply of Larb-flavoured snacks? Count me in.

I saw better football from Tevez at Soccer Aid yesterday. Unserious competition.

Yeah that's the problem really. We need the Pearson-style rebuild NOW. Two years from now the rot will have us swapping divisions with Orient, if not sooner, at which point if he's done well it's a step down. I get the feeling he means what he says, in which case I would question if he's ready to come to a club in our bracket by his own admission. He was certainly honest in the interview about Kingy being the reason he didn't score more for us.
-
Interestingly he admitted that himself during the interview. He did sound like he'd love to manage us one day, but said in his own words we might be 'too big for him' at this point. Was surprising to hear, but honestly he sung Pearson's praises throughout and it was pretty obvious Nigel's management style has influenced his own. Now's probably not the right time if he wouldn't be confident taking the role, but if he does continue to develop and manages to, say, get and keep Orient up, I'd say he's worth giving a chance.

At the time I was incredibly angry with the way he treated a few of our established players, especially Kingy who he effectively froze out and barely spoke to in his entire tenure. If he didn't have him in his plans, he should have just sat him down and told him, but he never did. That was not the way to treat the club's longest-serving player who had been with us through our worst and best times. It was part of a necessary refresh though, to stop the title winning squad slowly falling apart with no succession plan. Ultimately it was his structure that helped Rodgers benefit in his first two seasons with us. This lot by comparison though? Wouldn't be against it, Seagrave needs a proverbial bulldozer driving through it and hi-viz giving to the kids to help rebuild. We're not getting Pearson back realistically, who would be the person I most trust to revive the culture we've lost, but Puel in hindsight didn't do a bad job either. At the very least he managed to keep the culture of standards set by Nigel going, before it was gradually dismantled by Brendan. The football was crap, but we did have players with qualiteeeee and intensiteeeeee. The real issue is - King's now got a prominent role at the club and by all accounts can't stand the bloke, so would they be able to work together?

LCFC - Family Night Football memories/photos?
OntarioFox replied to Ryanlcfc3's topic in Leicester City Forum
My main memory of FNF was a match where they were giving out Pepperami sticks and making us kids sing 'what do we want? Pepperami! When do we want it? NOW!' They were the best of times, they were the blurst of times. -
Depends really, similar predictions were made about Bournemouth last season for the same reasons and they finished top 10.

Wouldn't be the first granny to have Rooney slap them on the thighs to be fair. -
He'll need to play us first game of the season if so - any manager with a brain will have him permanently duck-taped to the bench by September
-
At least this would put BC Game where it belongs - behind bars.
-
I mean to be fair, I stopped watching games on TV almost entirely even before we went down, there was nothing worth watching besides hate-watching Forest bottle UCL. But yeah, let's be real, it wasn't Sky and TNT missing out for most of us...

Wout to Monaco (loan with ~€8m option, official)
OntarioFox replied to CloudFox's topic in Transfer Talk
The comments after Belgium vs Wales would suggest otherwise. I wasn't lying when I say he's become a joke in four languages. The whole footballing world has now cottoned on to just what a dopey, languid and brainless excuse for a Centre Back he is. He got absolute pelters for the third goal in particular, first time I've seen someone call someone a competition winner in Flemish. If someone actually bids for him and we manage to get him gone, we need to declare a national holiday. Knowing our club, we'll believe the nonexistent hype and refuse to sell him for less than £20 million or something. -
CFL (Canadian Football League)
OntarioFox replied to Golden Fox's topic in General Football and Sport
I remember that being a joke in South Park, didn't realise it was based in reality. Then again, knowing how mad Canada actually is for Kraft Dinner, i should have known better. On that note, did Saddam Hussein ever really try to take over with the help of Scott the Dick? -
Finally some good news. Club's still a joke though.
-
It was a pretty unreal save to be fair, don't think a lot of players would have reacted that fast to slam home the rebound because you're expecting the next to bulge first time. It shows he's capable of quick thinking in the box, which is a great thing to have in a player. I know it's kicking him when he's down a bit, but could you imagine Daka having the brains to do that at present? Assuming he'd even get in the position to make that header, he'd probably short circuit and set on fire trying to process what was happening.

We as a fanbase should be calling it out when people pipe up to call silverware of any level 'tinpot'. Until 9 years ago, our proudest moments were second tier championships, playoff wins, a handful of League Cups and a few short trips into the Europa League. But it all meant a hell of a lot and still does to those who witnessed it. Without the miracle, we'd be on the level of a Birmingham or a Swansea in terms of what we'd won. And yet we'd still be bloody proud of it, whether that was Matty Elliot, Claridge's shin, Stevie Walsh's poaching, man marking Juninho... Frankly, I'm still bitter that we had our pants pulled down by Rotherham in our one first-team shot at the Johnstone's Paint Trophy.
-
Said it from the start, but he's got a bit of the Andy King knack of finding space in the box despite other limitations. He's a useful player to have, never hurts to have a goalscoring midfielder. I'd like to see him play more regularly in a central position (as a 10), and to be honest I reckon we will with our lack of forward options going into next season.
-
Pearson always did like an experienced pro to bang some sense into the younger players. Mad to think we had Steve Howard rubbing shoulders with Nobby Solano that season.

Ruud van Nistelrooy - New Manager - Official
OntarioFox replied to moore_94's topic in Leicester City Forum
It would absolutely sum us up if we sit on our hands, sack him the day we 'officially' join the EFL, then get shafted with an embargo the day after that prevents us bringing someone in. -
He sounds like one of the generic starter players from PES 2008. If he's half as good as Espimas, Castolo or Ordaz... gerrimin.
