  1. We still have a good team for next season. And a few players will really benefit from a full season in the Championship. Jakub Ricardo / Wayo Okoli / Vestegaard Souttar / Nelson Kristensen / JJ Winks Skipp / Ndidi Fatawu Daka Mavididi that's a good side for the championship. Alves and Braybrooke to be involved more as well. get rid of Faes, Coady and Reid. Ayew will be relatively decent in the championship. Mads Hermansen and Bilal will likely be the only players we can sell. And we will need to bring money in. still a strong side. If done well with playing a few academy players could be a decent season. Knowing our board they will persist with the older players who have relegated us 2 times already and we will be far worse off in the long run.
  2. Strange one as I think he has potential to do well here. He has signed into a group who have created a horrible team. I know performances have not been great but he is in a side with so much negativity from boardroom to the pitch. I think with Souttar and a season in the championship Okoli can do very well for us. I would play him every game until end of season. Not just so two of Faes, coady and Vestegaard do not play. But I do think there is some potential with him in the long run
  3. There needs to be a huge turnover within the squad. After relegation surely even our board can start to plan for the future. I would like to create a team around Jakob S Ricardo, Okoli Souttar Kristensen Winks Belal, Ndidi Fatawu Daka Mavididi Hermansen will be sold. Too good for the championship coady needs to leave. Nelson can be 3rd choice Wayo can rotate FB positions possibly with James Justin too. Faes removed at any price. Just get him off wage bill. Vestegaard can do a job in championship but long term planning needs to leave ayew and Reid unfortunately we will likely be stuck with macateer should have been sold in January. We will not get any decent offer for him again. braybrooke, Alves and hopefully Monga can play some part next season. Vardy might still do a year in the championship. makes the Cannon decision look so poor to sell him whilst in the championship and will likely need a striker without much finances. Skipp will have to stay as hard to move him on. soumare will depart and Hamza will likely play a part in the championship. Wage bill has to drastically come down and we will have a weaker squad than last years team. Ipswich look stronger as well. hugely need changes in the boardroom to bring any sort of cheer and support back to our club. We still have a decent team next season who can do well. But if fail to get promoted next year we will stay in the league for a number of years.
  4. Another poor decision to turn down a decent offer. The money would have been great for us on a PSR scale as he is a local lad. But ability wise Kasey is no way near good enough to start / play. Not even on the bench for the Arsenal game. And we had 2 wide players on the bench already. We seem to retain far too many players who offer limited return.
  5. Really gutted he had that horrible injury a while ago. He was playing with a lot of confidence at that stage. brilliant he has a loan in the championship and if he can play 10-15 games that will be brilliant for his development. Could really be a valuable player next season competing with Fatawu and Mavididi for starting places. if he can return to play with the same freedom that he showed in the academy there is a lot of ability to come.
  6. Been a manager for one season and fell out with majority of his team. wonderful player, dire manager. Sums up that our board hired a completely unproven manager who has never had any experience at the bottom end of a league table. In his defense, Ruud has not been allowed to bring in one staff member to help him, had any sort of money to spend to strengthen the squad, and inherited a team that are dreadful. next season is a huge job for our club and we can’t trust our future in Ruud. 5 games without a goal, 9 defeats in 10 league games. He has made us worse rather than better. Took him 12 games to learn coady and vestegaard can’t play. Played ward in goal as he said he is number 2. Any person who had any sort of research into the team would have known he can not play. Brilliant goal scorer, poor manager.
  7. Okoli is our most committed CB, actually looks like he cares when he plays. The fact it has taken Ruud 12 games to realize this is alarming! Okoli has far more potential than our other cbs and ideally can have him and Souttar / Nelson starting next season.
  8. I certainly agree it is sad that players care more about money than a career. And you are fully correct they already earn huge amounts for the average person to compare. However I have slightly a differing perspective. Possibly because my wife is from a similar country to Jhon Duran. When people can come from these countries they truly can have nothing, and I mean not even a mattress in a room. Overnight Jhon can take his family out of any possibly poverty, and move everyone into a decent home and safer area. Football is so important to all of us posting and reading these forums. However for others it is a job, his profession, he just happens to be very talented at a sport. This money can change his whole families life. Worst case he goes for 2-3 years and comes back at the age of 25 with millions in the bank. 100k in England is 50 after tax. Of course more than my annual wage in a week. But he has chance to x5 his salary and provide for generations annd generations of his family and friends. Incredibly difficult to turn down and I can easily see why he would move. my only query on this would be why can’t we take advantage of the money on offer in Saudi and sell Faes, Daka, Vestegaard etc.
  9. True. Yet, We did miss some key players as well. Which seems to go a bit unnoticed. Mads, Ndidi and Fatawu all would start and add to our starting 11. i don’t really have much sympathy for the Spurs defenders injuries. They rushed both CBs back against Chelsea and caused them longer term injury. our replacements are free transfers like Bobby Reid. Spurs replacement players all cost 20 + million, Archie gray was 40 million alone. certainly they would be much stronger with the team you listed who were absent. Thankfully Leicester did the job and got a vital win
  10. Yes, that’s the one. Funnily enough he didn’t send Kovacic off in the arsenal man city game last season for a terrible tackle. Said at the time didn’t want to ruin the game. Somehow gives this a red card. Referees seem to pick on a new team each season who to give unusual decisions against. Clearly Arsenal this season. Forest last year with Clattenburg around. Didn’t get 1 decision when he was in a role. Referees have far too much influence without any accountability
  11. Fully agree and I would have hoped we did exactly this. Sign young promising players for fees around 5-10million. Let them play 1 season in the premier league and look to build a team for future seasons. Even if, as we will, go down. The players will have develop a lot with 1 year to show their potential. I would play Okoli from now and let him settle, as he will be needed for next season I think. I don’t mind his signing. I do have a huge issue that he never gets game time with other blockers in his way who are picked ahead of him Skipp for 25 million. Really sums up how crap our recruitment was in the summer.
  12. Bilal. Can be an actual joy to watch. feel sorry for him with the team around him. No other positives. incompetence everywhere else from boardroom to managers to players.
  13. Certainly agree. I would play Okoli and start him every game. I might be wrong of course but I think he has potential where in 2/3 seasons he will be a top defender. He may be homesick now as he has not played for months, there were no reports when he was playing. And largely I felt did well. Our only clean sheets came when he was playing. (Unless I have that wrong) we have lost 6 in a row with CBs that offer us nothing now or in the future. Okoli was signed for a decent amount. We should invest in what we signed in order to fulfill his potential. With 20 games in the PL this season and playing a year in the championship next, I think he will be a very good defender. Certainly worth giving him a chance. If we lose money on him, really sums up the board and our club. There is no monetary value in Coady and Vestegaard. Often make mistakes every single game. Yet somehow they play every game ahead of others who could have a real future here.
  14. I would agree keeping him for the championship. The only hope I would have is he is allowed to bring in his own staff with him. I would move on the majority of the technical staff that are here. We saw at Brentford the assistants are clueless and somehow still here. Personally I didn’t want Ruud for the job at that time. As he has no experience at this end of a league table. Previously I would have gone for a Moyes, or now Dyche. But if we are in the championship I certainly think Ruud could do well there.
  15. Thank you for your reply. Even though maybe wary to discuss relegation it is great to hear other perspectives. I agree Hermansen will be sold. He will not want another year in the championship when we can see he is easily premier league level. Chelsea or man city could be in for him. I do rate Jakub Stolaryck. And feel a season in the championship will actually do him well. I would imagine we keep Ricardo and then possibly the new signing from Parma for the RB role. Struggle to see Ricardo being sold with another injury. Souttar and Nelson would be a decent CB. Sell Faes, and then we will likely have to keep coady and vestegaard. I would keep VK if he wants to stay. When he went to bologna it was thought he didn’t want to change his role. I think he will do well next year. Possibly keep Thomas for a season as well as back up if possible. i would try to keep Winks for the season again. As well as Ndidi. Possibly even soumare as that is a strong cm for the championship. Ayew and Reid can be decent squad players or even Ayew starting striker if others are sold / released. I can see Faes, BEK, Hermansen and Cannon being sold. I would personally keep Cannon for next season but I fear our board want him gone now. I would also keep Okoli and play him now. I might be wrong but I think he has far more potential than any of our current cbs. that should bring in 50 - 60 million for those 4. Hopefully that is enough with PSR now. I think a loan move for Alves and Sammy Braybrooke is essential. They need matches and a loan to league one / two would be ideal for both. Staying here and not playing games is benefiting no one. fatawu and mavididi we know can do well in the championship. Depending on how Fatawu recovers from a long term injury. Of can remove the players with bad attitude and bring together a youthful squad who want to play for our team. Could be another exciting season ahead in the championship.
  16. I like part of the team. Attacking wise we should be ok with that line up. Personally I would like to see Nelson at CB with Souttar. However both have had quite serious injuries this season. Coady and Vestegaard will likely be used again next season with Faes leaving. I am still not sure on Skipp playing in CM. I just do not see what he does. Winks and BEK will be great. Ndidi will likely stay and could play those 3 together would be a decent midfield. The QPR game shows we have a good team for the league below. But we could be hit with a points deduction as well. Personally I would keep Cannon and let him start as the 9. Mavididi, Cannon and Fatawu is a very decent front 3 in the Championship.
  17. Vestegaard been great in possession. But that is a poor defensive header. Even at youth football players are coached to head the ball up and away. Attacking headers down to the ground. Really poor defensive clearance. great play from Ayew, Vardy movement superb and great follow up from Mavidid. Much better
  18. Very valid comment. My post was not against Glover. He has only fairly recently joined and I was pleasantly signed with his transfers at the start of the Championship season. Hermansen, Mavididi, Winks and Yunus all positively contributed. even the summer window, personally, I think Okoli has potential to do well here. I would play him ahead of Coady and Faes for example. I think he has potential and will go on to do well. If we give him the chance. As you said the Skipp, Ayew and Reid signings are shocking but that leans more to cooper than the direction of Glovers recent recruitment. my comment on scouting and recruitment is related to where I think Leicester as a club have gone wrong, and this is before Glovers arrival. every club gets some transfers wrong. They are not bad players. Just does not work at certain clubs. But we have been poor in recent seasons (before relegation to the championship). A long with the new signings on huge wages that made it very difficult to move players on. We are still in a mess because of transfers and wages. Transfer window before relegation was Faes, Kristensen and Souttar. 50 million on players who have never improved our team. And anpparently only operate at a level below the premier league. The year before that. We signed Vestegaard, Daka and Soumare. Not forgetting Bertrand on a free, on an enormous pension top up for him. I do believe our incomings and outgoings hugely negatively impacted our club and cost us top half premiership football for a few seasons and is a large reason we are where we are now. Daka is not a bad player. But my issue is, he was scouted and recruited based on his performances playing with a strike partner. We do not play with 2 strikers. Rather Defeats the purpose of signing him. If a team play with 2 strikers I think he will do well. My opinion is that we have recruited too many players who were not better than our starting players, on vast salaries and they had no resale value.
  19. Thanks for your reply. I do agree the fans role is to lift and support the team. At the moment we are not quite there. A lot of recent decisions and a lot of inaction has caused this disconnection. I do agree with you that we can not do this to every player / manager. Martin O'Neil became one of our best managers, Vardy is a club legend and probably will have a statue at the ground. As fans we do want instant results, and that is why most clubs do not have fans in control. I agree with this. Just to explain. I do not want fans to boo every player. I do think that we have a huge role in the club if voiced correctly. Rudkin out chants should not be just 5 minutes when we are 0-3 down. They should be for a duration of a game if we want any change to happen. The booing of Ward happened after 35 games of poor performance, we all can see he is a huge detriment to the team. And already cost us the Wolves game where we are now firmly in the bottom 3. We were not in the relegation zone before he played for us. I do blame Ruud for his selection and fans took it upon themselves to make sure this error was identified. We need to do the same for Rudkin otherwise we are heading on a downward spiral which the board, are again, oblivious about.
  20. I fully agree with your analogy, and that Ipswich and Wolves currently have a much better chance of staying up than us. Ipswich are certainly boosted by a positive home crowd and club in the same direction. Wolves have a good enough team to get out of any trouble. FA have clearly helped as well with banning Cunha when he is injured and for a cup game which he would have rested anyway. We have a large discontent between fans and board. It really does filter down to the players. Our ownership again seem increasingly unaware of what is going on. I was hoping the obvious need for new players would have meant we signed players as soon as the window opened. This is a huge transfer window. And need to use the time after the Villa game for any new players to adapt. If we go down, I do think that Vardy will stay for one more season to help get us promoted. As you said though this is a huge risk and could really end his career with us on a sour note. If only Tony Bloom could spend an hour with our board we certainly would be in a better position. From what I have been told, Rudkin is not a bad person. He is a very hard worker and always around. Results have proven that he is just incompetent in the role. As a result nearly of departments under him are performing sub par.
  21. I would say It is a collective issue. Top. Forced into the position and is clearly inept in the role. Doesn’t set standards that a leader should follow. Rudkin. From the people I have spoken with about him. He is one of the hardest workers in the room. First in and last to leave. But he doesn’t have his own opinion. He asks everyone for input and uses other people’s answers as his thoughts. Signed off on some dreadful contracts which have ruined our club. Brendan. He gave up last year in the role. Didn’t get backing he wanted and he waited for a pay off. Played ward for 28 games when clear as day he can not cope. First 18 months brilliant. Last 18 months we are where we are largely due to his decisions. players- Maddison’s tweet summed it up for me. Play like that and we will be fine. They didn’t think about relegation until too late. And they played like it as well. supporters. Often fans are the 12th man. This has changed in recent seasons. I went to watch Boca Juniors at Bombanera 3 seasons ago. The game was won before kick off. 90 minutes before the game stadium packed and bouncing. I know the clappers we had people didn’t really like. But for our fan base, they were great. We are a quiet fans. And a little idea like the clappers made a great noise when used together. Look at the loud boos to Danny Ward during Wolves game. He has not played since. Fans have a huge impact and vital role. If we want change have to voice opinion. Shout Rudkin out for duration of the game, not for 5 minutes. We are too passive and only really vocal online. We can make a huge difference the 2nd part of the season. scouts- some dreadful signings and recruitment over the last 4 seasons. We used to be the best and find Kante, Mahrez and Vardy. We are a shadow of that now. For every Mads Hermansen there are 5-6 dreadful transfers that have hurt us. it is a huge collective issue that caused us to be in our current position
  22. Thanks for your reply. Always good to hear differing perspectives. I understand the top of the box. Personally, I don’t think we have the players to leave 3 at the back with a FB making up the bottom of the box. This system works when have the best players. When we don’t I would lean towards a structured back 4. i just think play a normal back 4, winks Ndidi and KDH Would be a decent midfield for us. However Bilal has been a good signing and FB has been great. Really surprised at his lack of game time in recent matches. Could be recalled by Brighton in January at a guess. Could FB play RW and Bilal LW. Or play Winks, KDH and Bilal. We have a huge transfer window now which will shape the next couple of seasons for the club. Get the window right and have a chance to stay premier league. If we stay with the squad we have really looks like championship again, which will be harder to get promoted this time round. i am not saying I am right. Always nice to hear an opinion. I fully agree with your answer on Money, team shape and structure as the cause for the modern game. It is a huge shame as flair and creativity are coached out of them. Zidane, Ronaldinho, Ronaldo (R+) phenomenal players and we are losing quality as a result. Every side in the 90s and early 2000s had real quality players. just as an example, There is a huge decline in the quality of strikers in the modern game. As you correctly said everything became better and as a result probably has become worse. I really don’t understand the modern coach either. Why they can’t change system or set up. And really only believe in one way at playing. Russell Martin for example. Everyone could see conceding goals playing out from the back. But he did it every game. To me this is not good coaching / managing. Good quality coaching staff set teams with the best chance to get a positive result. When I was growing up, teams would play when they could and Defend when needed too. Managers had to change tactics during the game. Now they seem to just settle for what is happening. Ange at Spurs. Only plays one way, Guardiola as well, I am really interested to see how he changes this huge decline in performance since Rodri’s injury. He is arguably one of the best managers in recent history. But he has spent fortunes everywhere he has been. He has not had any answers in the last 12 games even with the players he has. Played same style all the time. Coaches do not seem to change any more and only believe in one type of Philosophy. Baffles me as a fan but maybe that is why I am a supporter rather than professional manager.
  23. This is not meant as a scaremongering topic. I am generally someone who likes to plan ahead in case of a few scenarios. If we were to go down. What would our starting line up look like? Jakub Ricardo if fit, otherwise James Justin Nelson Okoli Kristensen Winks Ndidi Bilal Fatawu Mavididi Cannon Possibly Souttar back from loan. This is still a decent team for the championship and chance for them to play together and get used to uniting as a team with the aim of promotion. I would prefer to start a team we can plan a bit of a future with. Playing Coady and Vestegaard again might be enough for championship but gives us no planning for premier league, as they are well below level required. They would stifle Ben Nelson and Okoli partnership if still around. Alves in and around the squad and ideally getting decent game time when possible. I would loan him to a club where he plays in League one for the rest of the season. He needs 15 games and then we can judge for next season. I can’t understand why he was not loaned already. Sitting on the bench for the occasional game is going to hinder any development. I would bring back Sammy braybooke and loan him to a team where he plays. League 2 etc. needs game time not sitting on a bench. I am thinking the only player we would really sell would be Mads. Likely to Chelsea for 30+. I don’t think we have anyone else who could be sold for reasonable finances. Faes to be sold for any price just to move him on. Would Vardy be signed for one more year to get us promoted again. Issues - — PSR. We will likely be hit with a championship points deduction. - manager. Will Ruud be capable to lead a team on a promotion charge. I have not been impressed with his 5 games. - Salaries and cost cutting. We will not recoup anywhere near the money that players were signed for. Will be a huge loss when players move on. But certain players need to leave for the longer term benefit of Leicester City - There are separate threads for the owners. So it does not have to be said in any replies (if there are any) Top, unfortunately has proven he is out of his depth in taking over. It could have gone one or two ways when he tragically had to take charge. Proven he is not good enough as a leader for a company. Rudkin is incompetent / useless. on the whole, This is still a fairly good side for the championship and capable of a promotion push. just interested in other thoughts. This is not meant as a negative reaction due to recent games.
  24. I would hope Leicester would agree to a % of his salary. 200k per week Leicester should never pay that amount. I just think he will improve our team. But finances have to be realistic. chilwell and maguire would improve our chances to stay up. or I would like to think Ruud has some great connections to help bring in 3/4 starting players in the new year.
  25. Huge upgrade on what we have available now. if we can get him really improves our defensive unit.yes he is not the quickest and we lack pace. But I don’t think pace is the main issue. Our CBs can not defend. Look at the goals conceded against Wolves. We were not beaten for pace. Dreadful defending. Can’t win a header and no cover for the first goal conceded. coady has been unwanted by his last 2 clubs both deemed him not good enough vestegaard is a good passer. Not defender. Really poor in the air for his height faes. Less said about him the better okoli. Part of me thinks he will be decent with a competent defender next to him. Maguire will improve us immediately. same for Chilwell if we can loan them for the rest of the season.
