Fans is a classic example of a player thinking he is better than he is. Take the money and crack on.

Rest easy Sven 🙏

Maybe, maybe not but the first XI is crying out for someone with his attributes to receive the ball from Winks, Skipp and create. Will Rudders and Co get any ACM deal across the line?

Big week for the Club and in particular Rudders, Whelan or whoever it is that is leading the transfer negotiations. Outside of the 25-45 mins against Spurs we have been flat / passive / lacking in cutting edge. It’s early days of course, but if we are going to gain enough points (40+ whatever you want to add for a points deduction) we still need a couple of quality additions to help out the industrious players. We need a target man to trouble defenders, hold the ball up and link up play, a creative ACM and potentially an attacking left back. The strategy to date worries me given we seemed all in for Soule and then spent 20-25 on Skipp. Skipp is a decent, steady player but different profile to Soule. Where is the alternative ACM we desperately need, maybe the lad Khannouss is the one - have we still got the funds to do these deals? Then under the current system Kristiansen is being expected to create. He brings energy but not sure he has the attributes to be the attacking force needed.

Yeah I am not sure any of the business we have done has really improved the first XI. Matty Fryatt on RL Sport just said Skip was steady which sums it up......we may be hardworking, industrious but little cutting edge. Relying on being able to grind out results I think won't see us stay up.

Needs to address lack of creativity / cutting edge quick otherwise pressure will increase and then some.

didn't really look like creating a chance second half. Sort of game we need to target to get something, otherwise heaps pressure on us to win at home. Need to bring in a cutting edge asap

Isn’t it more a matter of (during preseason) not showing any form / organisation and no cutting edge. I hope this is one of those cases where preseason is no indicator of future performance. -

Given we expect to have less possession and be under the cosh from opposition forwards for a large part of the season, it may be time to dust off the old counter attack strategy. (counter) attack, attack, attack. -
Cooper has tried to toe the line in the presser today but you would imagine he is fewmin especially when you see what business Ipswich have done. Already playing for snookers.

We knew pretty early in the week that it would be unlikely (no one would be signed and registered). Wow. Gobsmacked. -
Worst season in the clubs history incoming.

We don’t help ourselves. Lots of speculation but fail to bring in enough (any) real quality to improve the first XI. Fan morale drop like a stone Team starts poorly and crowd turns only way that changes is if Cooper organises the group and we find an identity and some form out of nowhere. -
100%

We seem to *always* struggle with pursuing / completing multiple transfer targets.

The closer we get to Monday you just know the *only* signing we will announce is Ayew.

Last minute panic move? Certainly a large chunk of change for us. If the deal happens then hopefully it works out and the lad doesn’t turn out to be another Slimani - especially given our troubles with PSR.
-
I am firmly of the view that Rudders should have been let go years ago, but setting that aside for one minute. I worry that we have spent on the likes of Okali, who at the minute doesn’t appear any better than Nelson. Strategically we haven’t improved the first XI and wasted the limited transfer funds to bring in new players. In preseason we have given limited opportunities to our youth stars (Nelson, Alec’s, Braybrooke). I am not sure what the strategy is - giving the Prem a good go or building a young squad that bounces back stronger if we go down. At the minute I get little sense we are doing either.

Coops in RLSport interview desperate for new players…… wont put a number on it but more than a couple 🤪 Over to you Rudders.
-
Coady out for a month apparently. Sigh.

This was always going to be a tough season but, we are we look so poorly prepared. All we can we hope is we can bring in 2/3 first team starters and hope they click.

Undercooked and then some.
