Expecting the Board any day to ask Rudders and Whelan to lead another internal review to find out what’s gone wrong.
-
The longer the Club drags it’s heels to get players over the line, and we stay in the bottom three, it’s only going to get harder to attract the profile of player we need - unless we are throwing cash at them - leaving only likes of Ryan Bennett (shudder) as an option and survival this season even more remote. Get. A. Move.On.

Ruud van Nistelrooy - New Manager - Official
JimmyC74 replied to moore_94's topic in Leicester City Forum
It has been an up and down start. I am not Ruud out by any means but, we need to quickly convert bits and pieces of promising play into results. Ruud needs help from the recruitment team, asap, bringing in a few quality additions to change things up and see us go on a run. -

Dropping like a stone? We are so, sooo poor. 🚨Emergency pod????? Need @Ric Flair rant !!!!! -
Exactly…..and here we are relying on those folks to save our season. Do the same thing and get the same results. Too many areas of Club lacking / making mistakes - players, manager, DofF / recruitment and Board

Villa (Away) Saturday 4th Jan 3pm (Match Thread)

Without major surgery to first XI seems inevitable we are down with these players. individual errors, lack of organisation and no real confidence. -
Agree a RB is essential. Minimum 2 defenders / if CB can also cover left back position.
-
Have we sent the lad Édouard back yet?
-
Agree but imagine we will do well to bring in 3.
-
As they say, whether we stay up or not won’t be determined by how we perform against Man City, Liverpool etc but rather the rest of the bottom 6. To date we haven't shown enough quality, defensive organisation or fight to show we can get unexpected wins whereas the likes of Wolves and Everton have recently picked up results against more fancied sides. We need to improve all aspects of the first XI if we are to take 6-7 wins in the remaining fixtures. So again all depends on the transfer window. Improve the defence, bring in some steel and fight and someone to share the burden of goals and maybe there is a chance.
-
Likely 6-7 wins needed in the second half of the season, so everything hinges on what we can do in Jan. Uphill challenge. Being bottom 3 we will need to pay over odds to get players in.

Could This Be the Most Important January Ever?

No one is paying more than 30-40m for Mads. -
Could This Be the Most Important January Ever?

It's a key window no doubt and a lot hinges on the Club having prepared / have clear objectives and that they can execute (potentially) multiple deals at the same time. You worry that the Club either act knee-jerk and bring in random players that don't improve the first XI, thinking that numbers will freshen things up or else they dither and fail to bring in players until late in the window or at all (as they fear the impact of PSR / EFL penalties if relegated) and we have left it too late and get cut adrift. Again everything hinges on Rudders being successful. -
Liverpool 3-1 LCFC, post match thread
JimmyC74 replied to Phil Mitchell's topic in Leicester City Forum
Biggest issue is our midfield gets too easily bypassed and so there is constant pressure on our defence, which is too static and slow. Ideally you would look to bring in a new RB, LB, CB and a DCM in January but do we have the funds to do that - probably not. -

Lads put in a shift but we are way off the level of staying up. Recruitment in Jan crucial. -
(What do we need) Sadly more changes than we can afford.

Defence vs attack

Omg😆🤪

So before we kick off we are bottom 3. Whilst it’s very unlikely we steal 3 points tonight we need somehow to start taking points from the top half sides to stay close to/ try and pull away to safety. Hopefully we can be competitive tonight and make it difficult. Take a draw now.
-
Not expecting much from today. would say we should try and park the bus but not sure the lads know where they last parked it.
-
We are desperate to add quality to the back line but also pace. If Chilwell is desperate for game time I guess there is a chance of a loan deal but, I think right back is more pressing at the minute. If, and it's a big if, the deal was right (finances / wage share) and he had the right attitude it could work / you wouldn't turn it down. Same argument for Maguire / Lindelöf.
-
The whole football operation is (or appears to be, take your pick) not joined up and it’s just clear to many of us that you need someone with a proven record to come in and get a grip. There are so many issues: - multiple centre backs in the squad of a similar quality / possessing no real pace. - too few full backs (numbers & quality). - relying on a almost 38 year old (legend) to carry the burden of goals. - recruiting several players in the summer who can’t get a game / haven’t improved the first XI - Failing to provide any real pathway for emerging / youth talent. As others have said the squad is much weaker than that which got relegated in 2022, we have no sellable assets beyond Mads and the we need a minimum 3/4 additions in January. Hopefully we can have a strong window but, even if we do, the best bit of business we could do would be to bring in a new DofF. If we don't move him on history tells you we will face the same problems again.
