Ruud van Nistelrooy - New Manager - Official
JimmyC74 replied to moore_94's topic in Leicester City Forum
His reputation as a manager (accepting he is a novice) is only going to tank if he hasn’t got the tools (back room staff, enough of his own players) to do the job. we are weaker than before the window and form is the pits. I am not sure he could turn it around even if he had some new players but pretty certain we are nailed on to go down now -
Rinse and repeat. Why should we be surprised. Thing is, as awful as we have been we are not totally cut off, but failing to trade this window to address any of the weaknesses in our first xi means we are pretty certain to be relegated. And next season won’t be a cake walk / immediate promotion.

Don’t disagree. Transparency tho I don’t see in the KP vocabulary
-
I think he probably doesn’t but, the pressure and vitriol is only going to increase if we continue to decline and he might think he doesn’t need the job any longer. Rudders is a bit of a lightening rod. is everything his fault- no but he is accountable for football strategy- which has been significantly lacking in recent years.
-
best case is he is moved sideways and a new sporting director / asst sporting director comes in the summer but I will believe it when I see it. You might think anyone with any self esteem would have walked before now / Top suggested a sideways move - lets face it he has enough job titles / responsibilities under KP. You can only imagine the levels of negativity to him through the end of the season if things carry on in the direction they are.
-
I can't see Ruud being here come the end of the season - either he jumps complaining he wasn't backed / doesn't want to risk a season in Championship on his CV or the board pulls the trigger. After Brenda, Enzo, Cooper, and Ruud all appear to have been been promised funds only for the Club to reverse ferret you imagine finding a manager with a decent record will be a lift.
-
Would rudders / glover have even been aware of him?

Chances are we would still have likes of Vestergaard, Coady, JJ, Bobby Reid and Ayew - doubt we will be able to move all of them on. Will we be able to off load Skipp without incurring a PSR loss. Still lots of work to be done to rebalance the squad - so again key to move Rudders at least sideways and bring in a top operator as sports director -
It all feels very familiar - assume the Cannon deal was to bring in cash to cover the Club's arse from PSR. Expect Mads and maybe even El Khannouss to go before 30 Jun.
-
Big indictment of failings under Rudders is the this group can’t compete with the bottom six. lack of quality. But also and worse lack of character and fight. The pits

Pathetic

Players need to take responsibility - some are supposed to be internationals. They have been the pits. Ruud may not be the right manager for the situation we are in but these players continue to make basic errors and show no fight. Maybe we do need the likes of Dyche but, there is something rotten with this group and club that needs sorting out if we are to see success. -

You can change the manager but most of these players are the pits and will still be here -

Was it Ruud’s decision to bring in limited backroom staff or the Clubs? -
After selling Cannon I imagine we will try and bring in at least one - probably a forward / winger - but probably a loan maybe with an option we need more but, I am not hopeful given how late in the window we are and it’s Rudders innit.

Great episode lads. Appreciate your guys commitment to the pod, us fans, especially when everything with the club goes to shite and you might think why bother. Hail! 🙌🙌 -
I get it, just sort of underlines our failure and then can this Board, DofF and wider recruitment team actually deliver?
-
Hits home how bad a position we are in that there is discussion of bringing in Championship proven players ahead of an embargo. Not that that isn’t the correct strategy, just depressing. If we did go down this route though, selling Mads and Bilal to cover the reduced commercial income in the Championship , relying on the youth and likes of Ayew, Bobby Reid and Vestegaard (who we won’t move on let’s face it) would Ruud be best to oversee the rebuild? Feels such a wasted season
-
Decline in standards at our Club staggering. We are as good as gone and will be years to repair / rebuild players fook off DofF fook off and then some Board fook off
-
Abject. Dropping like a stone.

Goodnight.
