  1. The owl does look surprised and happy to be there. Camel looks put out.
  2. It is quite hard to tell with most of the stuff posted in this thread.
  3. Glad I sit far from the dugout. Might not bring my glasses, just to make sure.
  4. Yeah its a bit of a circle-jerk in here sometimes, but to be fair they are also the most eloquent posters a lot of the time. The derision and snark is what gets me, some posters are just obnoxious whether they are right or wrong. Whatever, I'm a lurker 99% of the time. I think this is me as well. Floating voter, whole mix up of views from across the spectrum depending on the issue. I don't like all the social policies of the Greens or Lib dems etc, but also don't want the country to be ran by the low calibre of candidates that Reform puts up, in it for themselves. Labour are absolutely playing this as "Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake", saying nothing of substance in order to not risk messing up their lead, which is largely based out of a quite right backlash against a pretty rancid 14 years of Conservative government. For the sake of gaining power, its probably a smart tactical move. They are saying "Change" but I don't see it, apart from red tie / blue tie. They've actually lost my vote at this point in the campaign compared to before the election was announced. If it was tomorrow, I'd spoil my ballot I think. But there's still a way to go and I'm open to being convinced by Labour.
  5. "Jump up if you love Leicester" from the singing section was a step too far for me after the taco selection and nachos I had before the game, even though I wanted to I probably would have vommed. Really enjoyed the past two games atmosphere, hats off to the UFS guys because my voice is busted and I don't make a quarter of the noise they do.
  6. Good news! Cigarette Juice!
  7. If you had asked me 5 years ago I would have said yes, I'd have been proud and willing to fight for the country. Now I look around me at who and what I'd be potentially sacrificing my life to protect, and I think no way.
  8. Sale at Krispy Kreme.
  9. This has done me right up. Not sure me and my foreign partner will be able to live in the UK once her current visa runs out. She has a shiny new PhD though so the salary isn't completely unachievable. For many though, that would represent very significant pay bump needed.
  10. Has anyone haggled for breakdown cover with AA or similar recently? Been offered £78 from AA for roadside and onward travel at renewal but wondering if I should push it further.
  11. Went to see Roger Waters last night in Birmingham, great show! Very cinematic. Enjoyed it alot.
  12. These new highway code rules about cyclists and pedestrians having right of way when going straight ahead at a junction still haven't sunk in yet apparently. Colour me shocked.
  13. There was a crossing further up the road, she didn't run across it, but in front of it between cars. I think because it was there, I should have been easing off anyway and watching out. From what I remember the road was parked cars all along both sides with shops and a crossing in the middle. Obviously my fault, but if someone hadn't charged across out of nowhere I might not have failed. The circumstances of the day made it tougher.
  14. I almost failed mine on the last turning of the route. I thought I was home clear, but it was a right turn and there was a car coming the other way at a distance right in the range you could call a gap or too close depending on your viewpoint. The examiner passed me and then after the paperwork was signed off he asked, did you see the green car? And my answer was no I hadn't, I was so happy that I had "done it" that I just went around the corner. Thankfully it was done and dusted and technically not a hard fault. Its not over until its over. Take your time and keep your concentration up. I also failed one because a woman sprinted out of a shop, between two parked cars and across the road in front of me and I had to slam the brakes which failed me right there and then. Sometimes its not even 100% your fault. Of course I should have seen her, anticipated and acted accordingly but its a tough one to take.
  15. Never under estimate the power of a creme egg.
  16. Maybe hes just getting fat and old, I ate a creme egg a day for a month and it had the same effect.
  17. People pipe up for the last two lines but they always cut it off with the fox eyes thing on the big screen.
  18. People still buy anti-malware?
  19. Clearly they are out for confrontation to bring in the views, but to be fair after watching the video and a few others after not seeing this kind of thing before, the security guards and especially the police don't do themselves many favours. Too often only one step away from a thug in a hi-vis with nothing to actually back them up aside from "because I say so". They really don't like someone saying a polite no. Also often shows up how much the police are stooges for big business and not often enough enforcing the law or protecting the rights of citizens, though not all.
  20. Just had the call from the "Loyalty Department". Tried it on a bit more to get some free add-ons etc but no joy. In the end I've accepted to drop the TV and take M125 broadband only (the same as I am on now) for £22 pcm for 18 months. Out of contract they wanted £56 pcm and previously I was paying £40 pcm for the broadband / tv package (after more than one mid contract price hike). They also offered M250 for £25 pcm which was tempting but 125mbps is good enough for me. Successful in the end, £3 less pcm than the listed new customer price. I do wonder what more if anything I could have gotten for holding on longer, but happy with what I got.
  21. Just went through my the initial negotiations with Virgin as my contract ended while I was away. The best they offered was M125 with Mixit TV for £32 per month for 18 months. I've gone ahead with cancelling in hope of a phone call with a better deal later. Hoping to go the same route as @Hitesh but I've usually caved by now because of the bother.
