Ex Managers - They used to manage us.
honeybradger replied to Wymsey's topic in Leicester City Forum
Brendan Rodgers football summed up in one photo below. Even if they had 'genuine quality' it doesnt matter if you play windscreen wiper football. -
There was a stat after Celtic's last CL loss that Rodgers was the worst manager to have managed 20 or more games in the champions league. To be fair to him it's impressive that a manager of his 'caliber' has even gotten to manage 20 games in the champions league.

19/20 was one of the worst years to watch overall for me, alongside our relegation seasons. Yes the first half of the season was good but the second half was worse than watching us last year. We had champions league football to fight for but couldn't manage better than relegation form for almost half of a season. I just cant reconcile how a couple losses made us completely lose our heads that year.

I think most of us can accept the benefits of drawing the opposition in and exploiting the space. It's when we already have space to exploit but still default to recycling possession at the back that frustrates many fans. Thankfully Maresca gave them a bollocking at half time and we played some decent stuff in the second half. It's good to know that he apparently finds the risk averse approach unacceptable. That's the main difference between Maresca and Rodgers for me, you had Rodgers frothing at the mouth when we were 3-0 up at half time against West Brom because we lacked control whereas Maresca gave them a bollocking after Rodger's dream half the other day (a controlled snooze fest). The intent is hopefully to play some exciting football rather than grind opponents to death.

If Tom Cannon had come on instead of vardy he would probably have scored 10! -
Vardy scrambled his brain back into goal scoring mode
-
banned for one game because of yellows i assume
-
Didnt realise we had oliver kahn playing for our women's team
-
All striker partnerships have one striker playing deeper than the other, it doesn't work when you have two poachers. It doesn't prevent the fact that the two top teams in the league are playing second strikers.
-
Why does this post have so many likes? Man City played against Chelsea with Julian alvarez playing behind Haaland. Athletico madrid play with Morata and Griezmann up top, Real Madrid play with two up top, Inter milan play with two up top, Juventus play with two up top, Liverpool play with Gakpo behind Darwin Nunez. Arguably all the best teams in the world apart from Barcelona and Bayern Munich are playing with two strikers currently.

Makes me think Mavididi was reading all the comments online about him shooting instead of passing to his teammates. At the start of the season he scores that easily (but he is also a lot less selfish than he was back then as well)
-
I thought he played well against Leeds. Mavididi does have his off games offensively but defensively he is always putting in the work tracking back which i think should give him more leeway with the fans than he is getting.
-
That was supposed to be Casadei but he hasnt shown he can perform at the same level as Wilf yet. Hopefully he can gain some form playing some of the weaker teams in this league.

There's always a bunch of idiots waiting in the wing to put down iheanacho. Iheanacho has a goal every 120 minutes this season and an assist on top of that. That's more than good enough. What happened to all the people crying saying we missed out on Joel Piroe? He is on a goal every 252 minutes currently and ghosted in our game against leeds. Maybe signing a player of Iheanacho's quality isnt as easy as everyone thinks it is.
-
Dewsbury hall made some runs into the box in the second half but the passes didnt find him. The movement was too predictable.
-
We desperately need Ndidi back. His movement off the ball and his linkup play was what we missed tonight. Casadei just hasnt shown he can offer that for us yet.
-
15/16 was better for me. Vardy in 2019 somehow always managed to find a way to score but went missing for much of the game because he was stuck in and around the box. In 15/16 he scored a lot and even when he didn't score he contributed due to being able to drift out onto the wing and take on players. He also won the ball back a lot more in 15/16 with his relentless pressing whereas in 2019 he would only press to put the pressure on defenders.
-
The game against Leeds is worth more as it directly affects the points total of our closest competition for automatic promotion. If we lose against leeds then they gain 3 points on us, if we lose against QPR leeds could still draw or lose and it wont have made much of a difference in terms of promotion.

I'll be honest i haven't watched our U23s whilst Will Alves has been in it but his technical ability looks really good. Think he is the best dribbler out of the 3 but whether that translates to championship level remains to be seen.
-
Kasper had it in him to pull off some absolutely ridiculous saves at times. Hermansen has had some good saves but none so far where i could not believe that he had saved it.
-
Not sure where you got that from. Xavi and Iniesta usually got 20 G+A in a season, with Xavi even getting a 30 g+a season in 2008/2009. Both Xavi and Iniesta were creative players who would get at least 10 assists in the league most seasons.
-
Personally i am happy with the board as long as we keep on winning and/or improving as a team. It's possible that having Brendan Rodgers have so much power at the club it made everything go rotten. Before people say "who gave him that power", you could argue that on the face of it it was deserved due to his early succes despite the cracks beginning to show in 2020.

How are we getting on, compared to previous Championship winners.
honeybradger replied to Sly's topic in Leicester City Forum
I guess you are looking at things through a different lens. Personally I dont see the likes of Sunderland, Middlesbrough and West Brom as strong competition. Sunderland just lost 4-0 at home to Middlesbrough, we should easily be able to pick them apart. -
Don't think we win the league with Kane instead of Okazaki, as strange as that is to say. We probably finish in the CL spots more than once if we sign him though.
