Why does mavididi keep getting hooked?
honeybradger replied to Chrysalis's topic in Leicester City Forum
He was class in every way except for finishing last night (and his response to his bad finishing). Considering we had Ayoze Perez on the wing whilst we were finishing 5th I think Mavididi is more than good enough for the PL. -
Maguire is definitely faster than Vestegaard, Vestegaard offers much more on the ball though.

Ex Players - They used to play for us

To be fair if people were criticising him yesterday and we won, people would say "why are you scapegoating a player when we won?".

Justin isnt great at passing like Callum Doyle for example but he is better than Doyle at protecting the ball which is valuable when playing from the back. -

If you buy a player for 20 mil on a 4 year contract then you are paying 5 mil a year for him on your balance sheet. If you sell him for 8 mil with 2 years left then you would pay 10 mil for the player in that accounting year and receive 8 mil back, which would be a loss on the books for that accounting year. The following 2 years you would have more wiggle room in the transfer market as you no longer have the 5 mil payments. So selling a player for a loss does release funds in the long term but is detrimental in the short term, it also gets wages off the book. If we had more FFP wiggle room then selling players for a loss would be a better long term strategy. -

Barnes reminds me of Rashford. Some games he's just unplayable but due to his lack of work rate and inconsistent technical ability when he's off it he's really bad. I dont think G+A tell the story when you compare the two because even in a bad game Mavididi is helping keep his opposition winger quiet and has the technical ability to always be a threat even if the game's not right for him.

He's exceeded expectations this season. He has 5 league goals playing out of position and at times hasnt looked out of place playing in a Premier League squad. He might not be a Premier League ready player at 22 but he has come on leaps and bounds development wise.
-
Could we have waited a couple minutes till i started watching?
-
U21 players dont need to be registered in the squad to play. Neither him nor Cannon are in our 25 man squad if i remember correctly.

Sounds less like youre a super fan and more like you have IBS.
-
He played on the left wing didnt he? It's a bit unfair to him that he was played out of position.
-
I think he's been quite good when he's played, he just hasnt played that much. Im more confident going into a game with him in midfield than Praet.
-
He scored in consecutive games (and played well) and hasnt featured since. I like him but clearly Maresca wants to use the funds elsewhere in the summer.
-
The Dennis Praet effect.

They seemed like a well coached side when we played them. Strange.
-
It's a good opportunity to give Nelson some valuable playing time.
-
They're good at beating the crap in this league but their results against the best teams is quite poor. I can see the gap between us widening as the season goes on.

Maresca 🤝 blokes who shout "gerrit forwards"

All our strikers except for Tom Cannon get far too much abuse on here. Yes Iheanacho has not performed to the level expected of him this season but our fans seem to project negative qualities on him like laziness, not bothered etc. without any substance to back it up. Fans are allowed to love Iheanacho due to him being one of our most important players in our second biggest trophy win. I suspect the fans that seem to have a problem with fans that give Iheanacho due respect are the same ones that booed him and feel mugged off that he's gone on to be an important figure in the club's history. Also a lot of the fans that respect Iheanacho are not the ones who dont rate Daka, i suspect the people who give Daka abuse, the people who give Iheanacho abuse and the people who strangely give Vardy abuse are mostly the same people.

Who do you want for next season in the PL
honeybradger replied to Fightforever's topic in Transfer Talk
It's more that if he doesnt work out we cant sell him. Most of our 20 mil+ purchases have been failures that we've been lumbered with. At least with 10 mil players you can offload them easier as midtable Pl, Serie A, Bundesliga, La liga clubs etc can afford them. -

25 mil apparently. That price bracket of players is too expensive for us. -
The only non big 6 strikers to get 20+ in the last 10 years are Vardy, Toney, Ings and Lukaku if i remember correctly. Vardy and Lukaku are the only ones to do it more than once.
-
It's crazy to me that our fans would be more confident going into next season with Tom Cannon/Joel Piroe/Adam Armstrong than Jamie Vardy who is scoring goals at a better rate than any of them. All this talk about signing an experienced PL striker to supplement Daka next season, if Vardy was leaving as a free agent from Southampton/Leeds in the summer our fans would be all over signing him.
