  1. I prefer mavididi, Diangana got 1 goal 0 assists in the prem last time he was up.
  2. The West Brom squad isnt that good though. It's not really failing at the last hurdle when Southamtpon have better players all over the pitch. Also it's not like Potter is known for being able to grind out results against adversity.
  3. Honestly reading this it seems like it might be a blessing in disguise for Enzo to go if we sign Corberan. His style seems much more suited to what our fanbase likes.
  4. I'm not going to massively praise one of the worst goalkeepers in our history am I? I just think that having him as Nr 2 isnt a disaster as he wont need to do much.
  5. Ward was fine as a number 2 to be fair. He does decently in the cups against weaker teams that dont threaten the goal much.
  6. It's strange that we've already decided as a fanbase that he's going to go there and be a failure. A lot of people on here will have egg on their face if he does well with them.
  7. I love how the mentality of the average Leeds fan works. They feel the need to force themselves into every conversation about football to show how massive they are. Smaller clubs like ours could never have a better team than Leeds and they'll let you know it constantly over the season, hence the league table with August removed, their obsession with the 17 point crumble, them being better than us because they beat us Home and Away (Middlesborough anyone?). Then when their team inevitably fails to back up all the crap theyve talked throughout the season, the cognitive dissonance kicks in. Anything you dish back to them just reinforces how massive a club they are because "everyone's talking about Leeds". They just cant seem to understand that if they hadn't been so cocky then people wouldn't care as much that it's all blown up in their face.
  8. Archie Gray is good for an 18 year not, not good enough to play in the PL though. He will be at Leeds next season or a permanent bench option for a big 6 side.
  9. It's not like we are much less of a circus to be fair. Our financial situation is a joke.
  10. Hopefully he keeps the club out of his mouth in the future. It's best for us to move on and forget him, I really dont want to be reminded of his time here by him popping up in the media to talk about us every few years.
  11. He's much better at holding onto the ball than Barnes and doesnt throw himself to the ground at the slightest pressure from the opposition like Maddison. The ability to keep a hold of the ball high up the pitch is a big part of being defensively solid in a possession system. With Lookman instead of Barnes I'm certain that we would have conceded less last year.
  12. If he does go whoever we will sign will likely play the same style but worse. I dont think the fans who want him gone understand this.
  13. It's not just about goals though, yes he did have some not so great games but his floor as a player is a lot higher than Barnes's was. Barnes did seem to have a higher ceiling at the time but it's much better to get a lot of decent performances with a few good ones than a few great performances with a lot of stinkers. Now Lookman seems to have added great performances alongside his good ones.
  14. Rodgers wanted the club to only add to the squad and wasnt willing to sell players to bring in fresh blood. If he really wanted lookman then he could have agreed to sell a key player to fund the purchase.
  15. I remember being scolded on here for saying Lookman is a better footballer than Barnes. Classy player who was never properly rated by some of our fans.
  16. There is a decent possibility that if we lose Enzo we sign Russell Martin after he fails to get promoted with Southampton. The idea of it is enough to make my todger shrivel up.
  17. He's got some quite high wage demands doesnt he?
  18. Who would we hire in his place is the question? We're not exactly an attractive proposition at the moment with our point deductions, financial situation, recently promoted status etc.
  19. The draw for the first game of the season is weighted so that the best teams of last season don't play each other. Most likely we will draw a top six side, at best it will be someone from midtable like Brighton or Wolves.
  20. 15 mil for a goalkeeper is crazy. Even if we sold Hermansen I hope we wouldn't use it to spend that amount of money on a goalkeeper.
  21. Liverpool nowadays wouldn't sign Henderson. In the early 2010s Liverpool would sign any English player that showed promise, it took Henderson multiple seasons to come good. Henderson came in a transfer window when they signed Stuart Downing for £20 mil and Charlie Adam for £7 mil, Dewsbury Hall would have been a textbook signing for them back then. Now they're signing top players like Endo, Sozbolai and Macallister. Someone like Henderson is simply not on the radar of these players talent wise and wouldn't have broken into the first team if he signed for liverpool now.
  22. Henderson was an ok player in a great team. Never impressed for England and has struggled to perform in Saudi Arabia and the Eredivisie since leaving Liverpool. The gap in ability between Henderson and Dewsbury hall isnt that big. A league title and a champions league flatters Henderson for the player that he is, Albrighton isnt a better player than Saka because he won the league for example.
  23. I would as well but it seems unlikely unless we sell Faes.
  24. Ball playing wise he is definitely of the same quality, an accurate long pass in league one is the same as one in the PL and he's very fast with his feet for a defender. Defensively he's only had 1 season at championship level and has been good at league 1 level so it's hard to tell if he can match Vestergaard defensive ability. It's not like Vestergaard's defensive ability is solid PL level and Edwards is certainly faster, though not particularly fast. I could see Edwards potentially being a better defender than Vestergaard but we wont know until they play in the same league.
  25. I'm not arguing that re signing Vestegaard is a bad idea but it's not like ball playing centre backs are a rarity in English football anymore. Ronnie Edwards at Peterborough has similar ball playing ability and would cost around 8-10 mil, which considering we spent similar on Coady it's not exactly breaking the bank.
