Didn’t realise he was only one year left.. it’s a begrudging sell in that case if it’s a decent fee, he’s our best mid by a distance. Going to need to seriously nail all our signings given the quality of player we are selling/have already sold. I have little faith in us nailing the majority of any new signings, given our track record and lack of time to do it. We need every midfield signing to be shit hot to stand any chance really, and we need 2 or 3. I doubt we’ll make enough signings of sufficient quality myself, but let’s see what Rudkin is made of…. The amount of change we are looking at very likely means at least one more season down here, regardless of any deduction. Chances of us making lots of good signings and it all gelling, and them all adapting to the league quickly seems slim at best.

I’m guessing peoples problem is he himself doesn’t keep politics out of football and publicly backs what is happening over there… including him being banned from Instagram for what he said about the bombing of children in a hospital… (not sure if he is banned still, I don’t have any socials, just remember the story) He’s a good player, but I understand why some people don’t want to cheer him on. Him and Hamza would be an interesting dressing room…

It just all works better with Patson. He moves people around and makes spaces, works very hard closing down. Couldn’t hit a barn door… but Ayew offers far less in the 9 slot than Daka imo.
