  1. Feel quite mixed about this one. Seemingly had a decent record at PSV and had he been appointed in the summer I'd have been OK about it. That said I wasn't overly impressed with United in both the games against us. First game could have gone either way, and the second not really sure how much the result was down to RVN as Cooper and the team had a shocker. What I am more optimistic about is that I think this is a make or break appointment from his perspective and the fact he backs himself is a big positive. If this goes wrong I imagine that'll be the end of his managerial career, certainly in the big leagues. Another positive is that I think he will have the connections both with clubs and players alike to bring in some solid players in the transfer window if needed so this will at least give us a chance if we do drop into the bottom 3 during December.
  2. Can anyone tell me what Faes actually has to do to get dropped? Must have been taking lessons from Rudkin.
  3. Just watched the highlights as decided against going today after seeing the team sheet. Yet again both goals conceded are shockers and goals you'd be frustrated with at school boy level. As bad as that first goal is, I'm more annoyed with the defending for the second. Watching it back Faes and VK should never play again. No idea what Faes is thinking, goes towards the ball with two players covering and leaves a huge space for Fernandez to run into. Then VK has Fernandez in his vision and simply stops tracking him. I get that Cooper is starting to make Peter Taylor look like an absolute coaching genius, but to be fair to the bloke you could have Pep or Ancelotti in the dugout and with these brain dead players we'd still leak goals left, right, and centre, as they just make stupid decisions that no manager can plan for. The only thing you can reasonably expect of the manager is that he refuses to play these clowns again.
  4. Have tried to remain open minded but sadly I think it's time for a change.
  5. Is Vestergaard injured? Surely not been dropped if Faes has survived that performance at Old Trafford.
  6. With the injury situation and Buonanotte missing, this is the first time in about 20 years where I genuinely feel defeated before I've even got to the ground. It'll take a miracle today to get even a point from the game given the circumstances. I hate being negative, but today just feels like it's going to be grim. It'll be freezing cold, we'll get drenched, see us either get pummelled or play out the most boring defeat ever, before getting rained on again, then likely end up stuck in traffic. What a way to spend your weekend 🙂
  7. Definitely Danny Ward in goal 😉
  8. Disappointing performance. You never expect much at Old Trafford but we barely laid a glove on them. Not quite at the Cooper out stage but that team selection was poor today and lacked ambition. That said with Ricardo and Vardy out we don't really have the quality to cover them currently as Justin is woeful and Edouard isn't fit to lace Vardy's boots. Whether Daka would have made a difference is hard to say. One thing I am certain of is that Faes needs benching ASAP. He's too erratic and must be a nightmare to play with. I'd like to see Okoli partnered with Vestergaard as we need to tighten up the defence. Currently achieving a clean sheet looks a long way off.
  9. Wow... Where was the midfield?!?
  10. Rudders if you're reading this... Please please please can we have two new half decent full backs and a centre forward in the Jan transfer window 🙏
  11. N'didi is so frustrating. Takes up some great positions at times but just doesn't have the ability to make the most of the chances that come his way.
  12. That's a harsh yellow given some of the fouls they've committed. If that's a yellow Casemiro on Fatawu should have been a yellow too.
  13. I suppose trying to be positive, Utd are awful and we are the comeback kings at the moment so I guess the game isn't over yet.
  14. Need to send Edouard back to Palace in Jan and bring in a CF with some pace as we really struggle without Vardy as we have no outlet.
  15. Is Faes a secret hitman or something?!? Absolute utter disgrace of a defender yet seemingly is 1st choice under every manager we've had. Thought he was at fault for the their 2nd and he completely blocked the view of the ball for VK by jumping for the ball, then that counter at the end he didn't even try to make any attempt to win the ball. I'm convinced that as soon as we drop him we'll see a huge improvement in defence.
  16. Showing exactly why we needed a player with proven PL experience. I agreed with Cooper's post match comment, if that chance falls to one of the younger less experienced lads then I'm not so sure they score. I think inflation has had a huge impact on people's expectations. £5m sounds like a lot of money, but in reality it's probably the equivalent of a £1.2m player circa 20 years ago, which considering we paid £1.1m for Graham Fenton in 1997, £1.3m for Trevor Benjamin and £3m for James Scowcroft in 2000, along with countless others around that time who were all relatively average players, it's not the worst bit of business the club has ever done.
  17. Aside from the first 15 minutes we've been incredibly sloppy in possession. Facundo has gone missing, and both wingers have been horrendous. Not really sure what the answer is today as there's no great options from the bench. I guess if we can cut out the poor passing and persevere we stand a chance of getting back into the game.
  18. If you think he's a bad signing, imagine spending £36.5m on a player that couldn't even score past Danny Ward 🤣
  19. What an odd display. Negatives: - Absolutely horrendous defensively, literally school boy stuff. - Shape of the team out of possession needs improvement. Looked like a pub team at times. - Right back needs to be a priority in the window if Cooper continues to overlook Ricardo. Justin is done. - We conceded 5. Positives: - We scored 2 away at Old Trafford (Could have been 3). - Realised tonight after he came on how much we've missed Vestergaard. His distribution is light years ahead of any of our other defenders. - That new lad in midfield... Bouba Soumare looked decent! 😂 Where did that performance come from, best in a Leicester shirt since he joined, actually ran for once. - Alves got some game time and did OK. - Buonanotte is an absolute pest. If we beat Ipswich at the weekend I think Cooper can just about justify that selection tonight. Should we lose though, I think questions will be asked and rightly so.
  20. It won't happen, but imagine the meltdown on the Red Cafe forum if we somehow fluke a win with that side. One way or another tonight is going to be entertaining.
  21. I hate losing to them tw@ts but as much as we were poor and deserved to lose, in a bizarre way there's a lot we can learn from results like that and I think it'll benefit us in the long term. They were awful to watch but very disciplined and well drilled in their approach. Nuno had clearly done his homework on us and they set-up to nullify our main attacking threats. They're very much a mid tier PL side now and it showed. If we want to stay up this season we have to be less naive. At the highest level teams only need one or two chances to score and consequently you need to take the chances that come your way, whilst avoiding sloppy defensive errors. Make no mistake tonight will be a wake up call for some of the lads so they need to go away, analyse the performance, and ensure that the same mistakes aren't repeated. My concern is that Nuno has now laid out the blueprint for others to follow in terms of how to set up against us, so Cooper likewise will need to reflect and assess his tactical approaches for overcoming such challenges. Oh well, on to Ipswich. Let's see how the team respond.
  22. They've been woeful but are clearly a well drilled side. We can have no complaints tonight, been second best.
  23. How has Faes been done for pace by Wood? 🤯
  24. And yet even in that condition and just shy of 38, he's still far better than any striker in the United team and would walk into their first team. Can't wait for Vardy to bag another 12 PL goals and surpass Owen's PL tally just to see what all these pundits say then. I hope when the day comes he has some seriously good housery ready for the occasion.
  25. What's happened to VK, not even in the squad?!? Injured or toys thrown out of the pram for being subbed? No mention of an injury in the pre-match press conference.
