  1. Thought Buono was OK the other night. Don't mind Ayew but he's not a starter, and agree with the comment above, as much as I dislike Daka, it's a lot to ask of Vardy to yet again lead the line.
  2. Desperately need a win today. The run of fixtures after this game up until the end of April is scary. At best I can see us picking up 5 points over those games. With a win today that'd put us on 22 points. We'd then need a minimum of 12 points from the final 5 to stand any chance. Hate to say it but the our chances of survival look bleak unless we have a sudden unexpected upturn in form.
  3. Absolutely awful performance tonight, really have to question why we as fans bother to go at times. There's so much wrong with this team it's shocking! The back four all need replacing. Not a single one of them is PL standard. Until that happens we'll not improve. Our movement in the final third is also non-existent. The amount of times tonight the ball was picked up in midfield and Winks in particular looked up and there were no options on. He looked so frustrated with the situation. What are the coaching staff doing in training, or is this simply down to the fact that the FBs can't defend and the wingers are having to cover so deep that it's impossible for them to get that far forward on the turnover?!? Our patterns of play to the eye look like they've improved which is a positive since RVN came in, however we're still conceding two goals every game, and no team can stay up under those circumstances. Furthermore, whereas before we were at least scoring goals, they've now dried up too. RVN needs to sort the defence out ASAP if we're to stand any chance of surviving because we're giving ourselves way too much to do every game. I felt for Vards tonight. Absolutely love the bloke as a player, but he's no longer the man who can be our saviour. No team with any aspiration of survival in the PL should be relying solely on a 38 year old as their goalscorer for the entirety of a season. His age is catching up with him and he should be our option off the bench rather than starting every game. That said, Daka certainly isn't the man to replace him so we need to consider other options. Having now had a chance to catch up with the TV highlights and watch the goals back, both are truly awful. I've been relatively supportive of Jannick until now, but after watching that 1st goal back, what on earth was he doing? Mateta is literally next to him throughout the whole play and he still let's him get on his wrong side. As for the 2nd, some serious questions need to be asked about our defending of that set piece. When the ball is played into the box we have 7 Leicester outfield players plus the keeper defending against 5 Palace players. Neither CB is picking anyone up. Justin and Skipp are both man marking the same player who incidentally is the man Faes should be marking. As a consequence with Justin positioned centrally he's not covering the right side leaving McAteer responsible for looking after Guehi. The whole thing is just a mess, and you have to question whether this how they're being coached to defend such situations, and if it is who is responsible as they need to be shown the door sharpish. To conclude my cheerful summary, Palace were almost as bad as us tonight, but yet again just like the Wolves game we've not only thrown away an opportunity to get some points on the board but we've also given a direct competitor the chance to put a bit of daylight between us. We either need to back RVN in the transfer market this window and go for broke, or accept we've got the appointment completely wrong and look to appoint someone who can actually set this lot up to stop conceding sloppy goals left, right, and centre.
  4. I'm not sure that Sunderland deal is that attractive as I can't see them going up this season so unless the loan fee is high (which it won't be) I don't really see the point. That said I would use it as a bargaining chip with Sheff Utd, and say we'll accept £7m, with 25% sell on clause, and buy back option of £12m. It's then over to them to see how desperate they are to sign him.
  5. Anyone else reading this and getting Ant and Dec jungle vibes?!? Chelsea... It could be you. Leicester City... It might be you. Brighton... It's NOT you. Man City... It may be you. Liverpool... You're safe, it's not you. 🤣
  6. Don't think he's anywhere near as bad as people are making out. He's clearly experiencing a crisis of confidence and like any winger when that happens you end up looking like a donkey. Barnes was no different at times. When he wasn't on it he was awful at this level. Mavididi is a bigger threat than Perez ever was and yet he somehow managed to carve out a relatively decent PL career for himself. You can see in his performances it's a confidence issue as he's turning back in situations where the full back is caught flat footed rather than pushing the ball beyond them and getting the run on them. So long as RVN sticks with him he'll come through this patch and when he does he'll have be on fire for a period of time.
  7. Should be hitting the target from there
  8. That's just a weird selection. Where's VK and FB?!? VK hasn't been great but if anyone needs to drop out of the backline surely it needs to be Justin. Just when it was feeling like we were starting to find a decent side this feels like a step backwards.
  9. Yeah, wasn't sure if this is one of those grey areas as I believe if the data is available to share with a public service it falls under FOI (don't quote me on that as I'm no data governance expert). I had assumed that as what is being alleged is technically a criminal offence that said data should in theory be available to the Police therefore making this readily available even though it is a private entity. If not, maybe worth looking down the GDPR route.
  10. No offense taken and thanks for sharing the information. Please don't give up on this, you need to fight to clear your name even if that means making the tough decision to ditch the club and take your business elsewhere. Ultimately, this will go down as a black mark against your name whether that be in future years at LCFC or even if you decide to go elsewhere which isn't right if you are innocent. I'd definitely contact a solicitor, and I'd also request a copy of the CCTV recording so that you have the evidence for your own records. I'd not normally say this, but if you're worried about legal costs, then maybe consider setting up a Go Fund Me page or similar. I know on principle alone I'd happily make a contribution and I'm sure others would too. Food for thought but worth considering.
  11. @Dan LCFC From what you have said it sounds like this happened at an away game. Could you not submit a Freedom of Information request for the CCTV footage from the ground? There will be evidence somewhere. Not sure if you also happen to know any of the people around you at the game, but I would have thought that if you do, a testimony from them stating that they didn't witness you undertaking said act would shift the balance of probability in your favour as it'd then be on them to put forward a stronger case. Don't mean to pry but in the interests of balance had you received any previous warnings with regards to future conduct or has this come out of the blue? By all means I appreciate it may be a sensitive question so don't feel that you have to answer, but just trying to gauge the severity of the clubs actions.
  12. Completely agree with both points. I think both can be mitigated by giving Ruud more input into the transfers. If he can a) use his contacts in the game to either get some top players who aren't getting game time or some up and coming talent who'll struggle for 1st team football at their current club, and b) sells the vision of bringing in enough quality to survive the next few seasons, I think this can be achieved in a similar way to what Howe did when he first went in to Newcastle when they were staring relegation in the face. If however it's left to Rudkin, we might as well get the wheels in motion to set up a phoenix club, as there won't be much left after the EFL have had their wicked way with us. My thoughts are we're screwed regardless, so we might as well roll the dice and hope for the best. If we overspend we know that the worst the PL can chuck at us is a 9 point deduction. If the team assembled can comfortably amass 50 points next season then we should take the hit.
  13. I agree. I think we need to go full on Forest mode. Splash the cash in Jan on genuine quality that will keep us in the league comfortably for the next 2 seasons. Spend little next season to reset PSR and go again in 26/27. Only issue with that is you need to ensure those you bring in will keep you in the league otherwise relegation finishes you. Very risky given our recent recruitment but if done right can work.
  14. Would explain the reason for the wall as BBC are reporting that the plane was granted authority to land in the opposite direction. Looking at the video footage what does seem odd is the speed the plane is travelling at across the tarmac. Either it touched down towards the end of the runway, the pilot hadn't engaged systems to slow the plane, or there was a catastrophic failure of said systems. However, it seems unlikely that all of systems would fail at the same time unless there was a serious electrical fault. Tragic series of events regardless and my thoughts are with the families who have lost loved ones.
  15. Much improved performance. Hats off to Ruud, looked more organised. As per the match thread, a couple of decent additions and play like that more frequently and I can see us picking up enough points to stay up.
  16. Hopefully Haaland is tapping up Daka
  17. Gutted for the lads. Been by far the better team 2nd half. That said if we can strengthen in January and play like this for the rest of the season I think we'll pick up enough points to stay up.
  18. Missed the first 30 mins, but last 15 of 1st half we've looked pretty decent. Think there's at least a point in this game so long as we don't concede an early 2nd half goal.
  19. Merry Christmas everyone. Have a fantastic day! 🎄🎅🎁🎉🥂
  20. Really sad to hear that especially on the Eve of Christmas. I know exactly how you're feeling as I felt similar around this time last year, things just kept piling up with no end in sight. Not going to try and lecture you on what to do as I don't know your circumstances and besides everyone is different. Only thing I will say is reach out for support to anyone willing to listen; friends, family, colleagues, medics, trained professionals, etc. to get you through this moment and you will eventually come out the other side. Of course, it feels like crap whilst you're experiencing it but if you can pause for a moment and reflect, you may realise that a) you're amplifying the situation in your mind beyond others interpretation of the same issues, b) you can work your way out of the situation if you give yourself some room to manoeuvre, and c) there's plenty of people willing to support/help you to find the solutions you need. I hope things start to get better for you soon, and I wish you the very best Christmas despite whatever challenges you may be facing.
  21. Depends how you see it I suppose. My expectation of any new manager that came in was for 7 points from those first 7 games; wins versus relegation rivals West Ham and Wolves (given they were both home fixtures and struggling), with a point from one of Brighton or Newcastle. Sadly he messed up yesterday so consequently in-order to achieve that points return he needs either a win or three draws from those fixtures. I'm not saying it's a) realistic, or b) achieveable, but he's created that situation for himself with that ridiculous team selection. Whilst clearly Man City are far superior to us, given their recent form (worse than ours) you'd have to say at home we should be targeting 3 points. Big ask of course, but again that fixture would have been a free hit had we done what was needed yesterday. I really hope I'm proven wrong. As mentioned stability is key in my view so I don't want change, but without a proper backroom team around him with fresh ideas I don't see how he's going to change the situation and I'm not convinced from what we've seen so far that he has enough about him to turn it around on his own. The only way I can see him keeping us up is if he is massively backed in January and uses his reputation to bring in players who are levels above a relegation battle (similar to what Howe did at Newcastle when he joined). That's a very risky strategy though what with PSR and isn't a guarantee for success. Time will tell I suppose so let's see what happens.
  22. Danny, this is how you make a save.
  23. Out of interest has that actually happened previously, and if so have threads actually been pulled? Surely living in a democratic society people have a right to express an opinion so long as it isn't libellous/illegal. Just wondering why threads would be pulled if they are legitimate in nature and don't cross any lines.
  24. All appear to have adopted strong statistical modelling for their player recruitment. Add in the fact that aside from Fulham who seem to be going down the route of becoming an Arsenal B Team; because the signings are based on identifying talent in markets others aren't fishing in, typically their signings initially are relatively low key/low cost until they make a name for themselves. Therefore, whilst they are inevitably seeing good returns, there will be many that don't make the grade but because of their low profile you'll never hear of them and from the outside looking in they appear to have a high success rate.
  25. It's a new day and I should really have let it go by now and jumped back on the optimistic bus, but quite frankly I'm even more angry today than I was yesterday. Reflecting on it I've not seen even the slightest indication he can have a positive impact on the squad. The appointment feels hollow, a figurehead without any presence. On one hand this season is reminiscent of the infamous Martin Allen season, on the other I'm getting Paulo Sousa vibes. I know it's harsh but I'd give him the next 3 games with a remit of a minimum of 3 points. Partly because you wouldn't want any new guy facing getting off to such a tough start but also if he fails, a new appointment has the transfer window. This viewpoint is so out of character for me, I'm a big believer in stability, however there's too much at stake this season and we aren't out of it yet so the board may need to be ruthless to survive. The ramifications for getting it wrong are too big, the EFL will absolutely hammer us next season if we go down and at best we'll be looking at the lottery of the playoffs.
