"£5m from Palace that could be a snip"

Feels like a lazy loan move from the club. If he has aspirations of playing regular PL football the lad needs time in the Championship. Not sure why the club should be seeking guaranteed starts either, if he can't force his way into a championship midfield at the age of 20 based on his ability, the reality is he'll probably struggle to break into our side. Look at how many young players of a similar age are playing PL football at virtually every club in the league. Yes some are especially talented but like it or not that is the level he needs to get to if he wants to compete in this league so should be using this time to prepare himself for the step up, whether that be physically, mentally or both.

Saddened to hear this news. Really enjoyed his first season with us, not only was it an exciting period as a fan but some of the football was very entertaining to watch. The second season obviously didn't quite go to plan, but he'll be fondly remembered for his time with the club. As a football fan on a broader level, his success at both Gothenburg and Lazio highlighted how talented he was earlier in his career with some truly incredible achievements. RIP Sven.

I think the reunion will be great. Went to the Liam Gallagher Definitely Maybe Tour in June and it was excellent. Having both Liam and Noel on stage could be very special indeed. I guess the only issue is whether they have been able to settle their differences to the point where they're able to reignite their former chemistry. If it's just a case that Noel is going to turn up with a face like a slapped backside and be present but not really committed simply for a pay day then it may not work.

Fee seems pretty steep but a solid signing nonetheless. Competent player at this level and adds PL experience in an area of the pitch where such experience is critical.

Spurs!!! Mate!!! 🤮 🤣

I've been pretty hacked off with the club of late, and a lot of criticism aimed at them has certainly been justified. However, having been at the recent 'Your 90 minutes' meeting, they've addressed a lot of the points raised in a very short space of time, so on this occasion I think they deserve some praise as it does actually sound like they've listened to the feedback and acted on it. The only thing I'm going to reserve judgement on at this stage is the pricing of the new catering. This was raised during the meeting and noted that the incumbent vendor isn't offering value for money, so I'm intrigued to see how the new vendors compare versus the concourse.

Championship 2024/2025 Season Thread

That Kompany clip makes him look like a bit of a tool. They've certainly done him no favours with the editing by starting that clip with him saying how you need to control your emotions only to see him go on an expletive rant 5 seconds later. Also to suggest "It's life or death", really?!? It's eleven over paid blokes kicking a ball around a patch of grass for 90 minutes. Entertaining, yes. Life or death, absolutely not. -
Decent signing this if we can pull it off. Need another striker too, but a front four of Mav, Zaha, Fatawu, and A N Other has plenty of goals in it.

Agreed, didn't make much sense. Having been at the meeting and given it some thought, I think Jim may have got his wires crossed and the agreement is due to end in 2025. He made reference to the contract being extended recently for 18 months to buy the club some time, so the timelines appeared to be incorrect. For those not in attendance, the suggestion from Jim was that Milan took on the ownership of the club on the proviso that arrangements were made to outsource some functions including the catering as he had no interest in that side of the business and Tim Davies was assigned the task. Looking at the timelines, I actually think the agreement with Levy must have been for 15 years. Milan took ownership in August 2007, so it's feasible that the catering contract started in 2008. 15 years on would take the contract up to 2023, but with the 18 month extension that Jim mentioned you'd be looking around late 2024/early 2025. The thing that I found bizarre was that the apparent extension had been agreed and signed off especially as someone with a high degree of visual impairment could tell that the services currently offered are incredibly poor. It suggested to me that whoever heads up that side of the business either genuinely doesn't see a problem, is too lazy to re-tender and doesn't particularly care about the standards, or simply lacks any business acumen. I also thought it was interesting to hear that the club seem to be unaware of fan experience/dissatisfaction around the catering services and that Jim was keen to encourage feedback so that this can be relayed to the senior leaders to be used as ammunition to improve standards in the short term and give the club reason to seek alternate providers upon completion of the existing agreement.

Watched it the other week. 1st episode I thought was pretty poor so stopped watching. About a week later I thought I'd give it another go and it sucked me in. Really good watch in the end and I'm looking forward to the next season.

Absolutely devastated to learn this news. Really wasn't prepared for it today, feels far too soon. He'll be hugely missed. Condolences to his family at this difficult time. RIP Shakey 💙 ⚽⚽

Things like reconfiguring the kiosks in the concourse to make service faster, qr codes around the stadium to feedback experience levels, improved fan zone experiences pre and post match, improvements to transport infrastructure, pre-match and HT entertainment, initiatives to improve the singing section, etc.

Yeah, appreciate I may be being naive but will be interesting to see what, if anything happens. On paper there's no reason why a lot of the suggestions put forward this evening can't be implemented. A lot were simple changes at relatively low/no cost so I'm curious to see if the club embraces them.
-
I understood your frustration and agree to an extent but must admit I came away from the meeting relatively positive. They do seem to at least be acknowledging issues and whilst I appreciate Jim's views may differ from his superiors some fairly simple solutions and ideas were put forward that could certainly improve the match day experience. I was grateful for Jim's openess and honesty on several of the topics that were raised and it added some context as to why things are the way they are. The meeting did raise some questions around the commercial operations at the club and it does make you wonder whether some of the decision making is down to inexperience or convenience. Of course time will tell so let's see what happens moving forwards.

Now we're talking, would be the transfer of the window if we pull this off. Only concern I have re: that article is why would Cooper say just over Jakub is out for 6 months only for this to be cut in half 12 hours later overnight?

Really disappointed to see him join up with the poisonous dwarf. OK it's a job and if it's all that's on offer I can understand why he'd take it, but given what happened after he left did he really need to pass comment on BR. Surely he could have side stepped that one and simply referenced his joy to be joining such a well supported club, etc, etc. -
Soumaré - Sevilla currently - They have no cash

Always looked pretty decent from a technical perspective, however my concern has always been his work rate. He was often just jogging back on the turnover and didn't look to be trying particularly hard to recover possession. If Cooper can instill that work rate in him I do think that there is a player in there who could be a useful member of the squad, but ultimately it comes down to how much he wants to be a success. -
Here is a structure for a good CV. Remember the purpose is just to get you in front of someone. Couple of bits of advise; don't include any photos, dont state age or DOB, use a legible font (Arial, Times New Roman) and size, and keep to no more than 2 pages. Here's a example: Name (bold) Adddress Telephone number, email address (centred ^^^) (Header - bold, left align) Personal statement: Short one paragraph summary of you, your experience, and career goals/ambitions. Try to avoid writing in 1st person, but also don't reference yourself in the 3rd person via your name. E.g. Highly driven (insert your key trait here, e.g. drive, motivation, creativity, compassion, etc.) individual with over x amount of experience in a, b, c over y years. Aptitude for d, e, and f, with a history of delivering g, h, I, with aspirations of becoming z. (Header - bold, left align) Key achievements: * Bullet point all key achievements/successes. Each should be no more than 1 line. These are things that demonstrate your value to the recruiter, e.g. Sales successes, efficiency metrics that have saved an employer money (process/system that you introduced), extraordinary achievement such as winning an award, any unique highly sort after academic achievements. *Avoid the inclusion of responsibilities unless they are unique, linked to success and give you a distinct advantage)* (Header - bold, left align) Career History: List your previous roles. Job title Employer name, dates of employment Bullet points responsibilities (Header - bold, left align) Education: Start with any work qualifications first then academic Include: Course title and grade Institution Dates *if listing GCSEs assuming you have grades of C or above in the three core modules, simply state 'x GCSEs including grade C or above in English, Maths, and Science' (Header - bold, left align) Personal Interests: Write in 1st person Short paragraph about you, hobbies interests, sports/instruments played, etc. Keep it personable but professional and use it as a window into who you are. (Header - bold, left align) Personal Details: Drivers licence details, I.e. Full UK, no points Rights to work in UK if applicable Any industry specific registrations you may hold *Do not include age or DOB* (Header - bold, left align) References: State 'Available on request'.

Hi there, firstly whatever you do I'd strongly encourage you against using a professional CV writer. It's really not necessary and will likely be counter productive. They'll charge you a small fortune and you'll end up with a generic copy and paste rehash of a template. Think carefully about what a CV actually is and the impact on the reader. As much as it's there to demonstrate your competences to the reader it's also insight into who you are as a person. It's a effectively a sales document separating you from the crowd. It needs to have personality and it certainly won't have that if someone who you've never met writes it. There's loads of useful books available along with free information on the Internet. I'll admit that writing a CV is an art which you need to perfect, but having worked in recruitment early in my career what I can tell you is the vast majority of people don't know how to write a CV properly, so when you get it right you'll stand out like a sore thumb.

Just been thinking about this and I actually think this sponsor is much worse that the FBS deal from a moral standpoint. Whilst FBS was another dodgy company dressed up to be something it wasn't, the logo was at least pretty vague. You'd have to look it up to confirm your suspicions, and it certainly had little influence over kids. This new sponsor for me will entice kids and young adults into exploring what it is as they may assume it is something video-game related. It's glamourising gambling and potentially enticing them into a world many will be unaware of. So much for trying to be a family club.
-
So effectively another betting company that are pertaining to not be what they actually are. This isn't going to end well.

Really surprised me, was expecting it to be completely rubbish (big fan myself) but Serge stepped up and put in a heck of a performance so I agree with a lot of your points. I do still think they miss Tom to an extent though. As great as Serge was I'm not sure he quite has the same presence. Also think they massively miss Tom's input into songwriting as Serge's new stuff is pretty poor, and I don't think it's a coincidence that their best tracks on Saturday were their older stuff. One real positive that I took from Saturday is that I didn't think I'd be going to another Kasabian concert again but that performance has absolutely changed my mind. Shout out to the crowd too. What an amazing audience, proper embraced everything that Kasabian is about. I'd have paid a lot of money to be in the middle of it all, looked class!

Leicester 'could face points deduction next season'
ian__marshall replied to ClaphamFox's topic in Leicester City Forum
To be fair, he'd make their 1st team and has family in Nottinghamshire so kind of makes sense seeing as he's getting limited game time at the moment.
