  1. As an earlier poster said, it’s OK to criticise both the board and the authorities about the mess we’re in - it’s not an either/or. The board are culpable for putting us into a position where we can be punished, and the authorities for not being clear whose jurisdiction we come under, inconsistency and the nature of the rules which favour the biggest clubs.
  2. Would be funny if little old Leicester not only won the PL in the greatest upset ever but also was the catalyst to change football off the field as well.
  3. He’s representing us, and was the lawyer for Forest as well.
  4. Looking at some of the comments, yeah there are rival fans celebrating this but a lot of neutral fans are supporting us as think we're doing this on behalf of the non big 6.
  5. Not sure, you'd have thought if they were coordinated, one group would have left it to the other. Instead, you've got the PL threatening action, and the EFL going, wait a second, they're actually in our jurisdiction so we're going after them.
  6. This is wild, looks like EFL and PL aren't coordinating so they're both coming after us which might help us legally to show what a mess this is.
  7. Good explainer here in The Athletic: https://t.co/3Si2isQd82 Essentially, it looks like a big part of our defence is we didn't know which rules applied - PL or EFL. The lack of coordination between the PL and EFL, highlighted by the EFL funding package being rejected by 10 PL clubs, hasn't helped. It's not clear who's jurisdiction we come under. The article adds the club's lawyer is going to ask for an arbitration hearing to get a ruling on whether the PL had the right to charge and sanction the club this season, which will delay things.
  8. What radio station? Sky Sports, BBC Radio Leicester and I think Kieran Maguire said there wouldn't be points deduction this season?
  9. I think that's generally been the case for some time. What PSR is now doing is making it even worse by deducting points from the non big 6 and reinforcing that any clubs that challenge the big six either need to constantly maintain their success (i.e. they can't have one or two bad seasons like all of them have had) or sell players consistently to weaken themselves, thereby maintaining the dominance of the big 6. The principle behind PSR is sound but it shouldn't be a fixed number - it should be based on a percentage of revenues - and transfer embargoes feels like a more appropriate punishment than points deductions for minor/first offences.
  10. With Faes being away, that means more time for Coady and Nelson with Enzo in training. Hopefully they both impress, surely Enzo will see for all the public support for Faes that these past few games his performances have been under par?
  11. An heroic defeat is arguably not bad in the broader scheme of things - the players are mentally and physically tired so a couple of weeks off and less fixture congestion is needed. Hopefully this does Mavididi’s confidence a lot of good, and KDH was excellent. Nice that Ndidi also has got almost 90 mins under his belt.
  12. Poor again, just has too many mistakes in him for all his qualities.
  13. Why doesn’t Faes foul him near the halfway line and take the hit? Needed to take a yellow card there to stop the counter attack.
  14. Fatawu knows he can go outside the player, right? One of my favourites but he’s been so poor this half, except for that chance for Daka.
  15. Thanks for sharing, fully agree. The LCFC directors have screwed up it appears but FFP just isn't working except for the big six. The disparity between the big six and the rest is getting worse. Villa have spent hugely to try to keep up but the Newcastle scenario could well happen to them where they have to cut back significantly in the summer, and then the rot potentially kicks in. People will hold up Brighton as the example of a well-run club but they sold their best players - even if it was somewhat by choice and they got the best deals, it's so much harder for clubs that have finally built a strong team after 2 or 3 good seasons to sustain it for more than one more season as their best players swiftly have to be traded out to meet FFP.
  16. As long as Justin is in the team to track runners in behind, like Walker does for Man City, a pairing of Coady and Vestergaard would be stronger. Coady’s leadership at the back could be huge. I just think Faes struggles when big pressure is on, he loses his head far too often. Out of the team, him and Mavididi are players who don’t seem to be handling ‘squeaky bum time’ well.
  17. He has been asked about this, explanation and context here: https://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/enzo-maresca-explains-leicester-city-9151131 Ricardo, McAteer, Praet and Alves are expected to be back after the international break so we may see more rotation then.
  18. Some good news after a rubbish couple of days:
  19. Agree with the first paragraph, that was a massive missed opportunity. We could and should have gone big for the Asian market - as well as Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia and India also, especially given the demographics of Leicester.
  20. One thing about the club that should get more attention is the general decency within it. Remember the club stuck by its employees during lockdown, they didn't do a Liverpool, Spurs or other big clubs by swiftly removing staff. And again, after relegation, Tanner said an email went out to employees saying their jobs were safe. That said, I think there is too much naivety, we could benefit from a ruthless operator and 'we're gonna be OK' vibes rather than acting to make sure we are OK. Sticking with Rodgers is the chief example of this, perhaps Rudkin as well. It's easy to say, but then how does that impact the culture of the club? King Power's culture, background and actions in Leicester is about doing good personified by Vichai. And without that, and the atmosphere that created with the players, we wouldn't have won the title. I don't have a major issue with the principle of FFP, but the fact the amount clubs can lose has not been updated to reflect inflation is ridiculous. Perhaps a percentage level would be fairer, as it's unfair Man U can have unsuccessful season after another but are solid due to commercial revenue, but having had to increase wages to reflect the success of the team, we have one horrible season and are in big trouble with FFP. It's like an 'Icarus' effect for the non-big 6 - get too successful and not maintain it for a season or two, and you'll get smashed. Again, it's why it's so critical the club do invest in Seagrave, building commercial revenue through stadium expansion etc. to help mitigate this.
  21. Thinking about it and Rob Tanner’s comments on the BSLB podcast, I suspect the club’s defence will be a form of the double jeopardy principle. The club paid the ultimate price with relegation so they shouldn’t be punished again, and if they are it should apply in that PL season.
  22. Exactly, this is so being stirred up by rival clubs to try to unnerve and distract us. Not to say there isn't a substance here, looks like we've got a major challenge but the reaction on here is what they want elsewhere within the club.
  23. Agree on your final point completely, yet some people keep moaning about Seagrave! It's essential to the strategy of attracting younger talent and developing them. That and growing commercial revenue is the only proper and positive way to avoid the scenario of PSR hitting us again.
