It's clear he's getting all his info from Brighton, while Dorsett is getting his from us. So you get one saying a deal is closer than the other.
-
Doesn't sound like he has a source at the club, looks like he's getting all his info from Brighton/the broader industry. He repeated Brighton are working hard to sign him. Kept emphasising the PSR issue (suggests that the footballing community think we've got a significant problem there) and thinks £30m is not a 'wildly offensive offer' but has also heard we want £40m. He added there is a big gap in valuation. Sounded like he was a bit stung from fan reaction to his reporting of the story, came across as quite defensive which then made him sound patronising. He still thinks the deal is possible and 'in the balance' but no agreement yet and time is fast running out.

Latest from Ornstein - the final line is the key one. Difficult to see us wanting to sell, definitely Brighton/agent fanning the flames on this one: Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall: Leicester to Brighton Brighton & Hove Albion have been in talks with Leicester City to sign Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and while there is a gap between valuations, the top-flight side are working hard to get it done. Leicester are top of the league, pushing for promotion and know losing one of their best players now carries risk, but their PSR position dictates that a deal could happen. Brentford, Arsenal and Fulham are fond of Dewsbury-Hall, too, but Brighton are in the driving seat if Leicester sell.

So we can all go back to the Sensi thread and moan about why he hasn’t signed yet, right?
-
I think this as well, if he goes. Especially with what @Ashleyposted about him almost joining Fulham. As someone said, Maresca said we do not have to sell - if that’s not the case, he’s being misled (or he’s giving out propaganda to help bump up the fee).
-
Got to admit I didn’t want to believe it but more I thought about, the more it made sense. So he wanted the move in the summer?
-
Youth team player so 30m pure profit. But as others have said, why put the PL at risk when the revenue is huge? If he goes, it’s very likely he wanted the move.
-
He and de Zerbi are reportedly good friends so maybe he will have asked for his opinion on KDH?
-
He’s cup-tied
-
May not have been in the squad anyway given we'll be resting players and he's coming back from an injury.
-
What 60m for a player who hasn't played in 6 months? No way, no club would be that daft (except maybe Man Utd but even they seem to be getting their operations sorted!).
-
Ornstein is proper ITK, that's why it's so worrying!
-
Ornstein is a genuine ITK, so there is something in this. Don't understand the club selling him so late in the window, will be difficult to get replacements. Unless he pushes for the move. Began the day thinking we'd get Sensi in and we're sorted. The next few days of the transfer window could be wild!
-
Yep. Know the forum rules say we can't post the full content so quick summary: We want 30m for him Brighton think that's too high for him, but negotiations are ongoing Brentford interested as well but Brighton ahead as can offer European football Other admirers are Arsenal and Fulham but Brighton ahead of other clubs.
-
For what we know, he might want the move so our hand is forced. The story that someone posted on the forum about him wanting to go to Fulham in the summer but it not proceeding due to Paulinha not going to Bayern makes more sense now.
-
A theory could be he was all set to leave, so we pushed on the Sensi deal but Praet's sale to Antwerp isn't now happening so we're playing him?
-
That's not a bad shout.
-
Yeah, just saw this - doesn't look like his move as you say is imminent either.
-
In contrast to what the ITKs have said, doesn't sound imminent from Maresca's press conference. Repeated the same message of having to sell first to buy. Maybe the hold up is Praet leaving for Antwerp?
-
West Ham were seriously interested at the start of the previous season as well. Incredible how much he has regressed since that brilliant performance vs Liverpool at home in 2021. He was one of the best performers in the first half of that season generally.
-
We know the club likes taking it's time on social media videos so may already be sorted. If not, perhaps they're taking longer over the medical given his injury record?
-
Klopp effectively says in his interview that he's burnt out and needs a break.
