  1. Midfield offering next to nothing. Being player through with ease and then cannot progress the ball in possession.
  2. Lookman had another match winning performance in Europe tonight. Not signing him was another sliding door moment in our rapid demise over the last three years.
  3. Best we have played in months! All over them. Just need to score…
  4. Best squad in the league and no subs until 82 mins. Tactically awful to boot.
  5. Played well and totally dominated. Players showed good aptitude to come back with three goals after conceding softly. Enzo also made five subs which either shows that he is learning or finally has the players back he trusts to bring on. Great to see Vardy bag another. The one good thing if we do not go up will be another season of JV! 🦊
  6. He will be gone if we don’t get automatic promotion. Criminal the way we have fallen off a cliff in form since Christmas.
  7. Our slump in form is utterly criminal. If we fail to go up then Enzo should be asked to leave.
  8. Now I’ve slept on it - the headlines for me were: - we were by far the better team for the majority of the game. Defended well until 80mins and looked dangerous on the break. - Daka created our first goal with fantastic ingenuity from an awful corner (don’t think it was a training ground set piece) but his miss towards the end was criminal. - a degree of sympathy for him as he didn’t try anything elaborate (lace it top bin) but simply miss timed his placed shot into the corner of the goal. This happens but frustrating that it was after several other big chances. - Mavidi should have finished his chance but looked on the replay that Meslier might have got the slightest touch - am I being optimistic? - the offside goal is critical as if given it kills the game. It is a very difficult call for the linesman who has a lateral view of it through several other bodies, and the position of the ball on the defender’s shoulder with Hamza directly behind makes it very hard to see who it came off. VAR obviously gives it but to what detriment to the enjoyment of the rest of the game… - Leeds didn’t deserve anything from the game and their famous fans were pathetic for the majority of the match; however when they smelt blood they went in for the kill and that should be commended. They’ve played like this since the Bielsa days. - I still think we win the league but I do think we will struggle in the EPL. - We desperately need a half decent striker. - Enzo didn’t do much wrong but he has a big call on whether to show loyalty to Daka and show faith to play him next week, or drop him for Cannon. 🦊
  9. Genuinely embarrassed.
  10. That’s massive! West Brom’s greed was our gain. Love it.
  11. We’ve had a shot on target !
  12. Jeez, Nacho trying his best to not score.
  13. Great to see us battle back and show some heart in the process but we should have been 2/3 down before we woke up second half. Very happy to come away with that result!

    Barnes

I liked Harvey and am disappointed we’ve sold a home-grown player to Oil FC but £40M feels like a decent chunk given our current position. At times, he was fanatic for us but in equal measure incredibly frustrating to watch due to his lack of composure and end product - which tbf he had improved over the last couple of seasons. He did have a tendency to go missing in games and can be easily marked out of games if there’s no space in behind the defence for him to run into. Aside from him being proven in the league and relatively low transfers fee, I’m not sure it’s a great signing for Newcastle. Good luck Harvey.

    Top

Is finding someone ‘competent’ not the big risk here. Top is a known quantity, we know he won’t asset strip the club, and will hopefully have more cash to spend going forward as KP recovers post-Covid, and we balance our books with relegation. Yes, it feel like he’s lost interest in us and made some bad calls but there is some mitigation.
  16. I am genuinely quite looking forward to being back in the Championship. Even when we were doing well, the Premier League had lost its excitement and glamour once you realise its set-up for a few teams to dominate (profit), and the rest are just making up the numbers. Relegation also might mean we lose a few hangers on so might be able to get down to the Home games again when up visiting my parents. Every cloud!
  17. BR - the poison dwarf
  18. This is really bad stuff.
  19. Great game but think we deserve to go down.
  20. Please get Luke Thomas off the pitch.
  21. Agreed but it does feel like nothing is going for us at the minute: own goals, red cards, last minute screamers, whilst rivals are picking up points. We are definitely good enough to stay up but the mentality and tactics are negative. Big win against Bournemouth and we will kick on - lose and it’s probably curtains.
  22. Win tonight and I think we will be fine! Gives us the momentum to kick on to the end of the season. Lose and who knows…
  23. Had to check it still wasn’t April Fools! 🙏
