Leicester 'could face points deduction next season'
Chelmofox replied to ClaphamFox's topic in Leicester City Forum
It's been said before, if we go up we will likely need to sell before the reporting period ends before we can recruit in the following reporting window (what caught Forest out with Johnson). KDH will likely go no matter what as he is pure profit regardless what division we are in. Problem i have with this approach is that once all the top teams know you have to do this, you will get low balled which just makes the longer term situation worse. Nothing about these rules solves anything, and you can't even hold on to your blossoming academy prospects. -

We have a top notch option with Jakub. -
Care to explain how contracts are devised in the Australian league (ranked significantly lower than many second or third tier european leagues) bear any resemblance to trying to compete in the Premier League? It's not that I don't like the concept, but you are competing for the players so you can compete in the biggest league in the world. It's the biggest factor in all of this, and if Leicester start offering contracts on far worse terms why would a player sign for you?

KDH will be gone pretty quickly after the transfer window opens. -
But it exists, and has done for a while, so us on our own cannot simply change it. I hate explaining to my boy the wages these guys earn, and we are by no means the worst when it comes to wages. Of course, the huge issue is wages being locked into contracts and not having any bearing on performance. Made worse again by the modern trend of signing longer contracts to try and amortise transfer fees. I don't have a solution, just pointing out that this is an industry problem and they key point that will screw a number of clubs.
-
And if player sales dry up because no one wants to buy in a certain accounting period then this just exacerbates the situation. There will only be a handful of clubs who can actually buy anyone and my tin foil hat says they could be quite selective about who they would want to asset strip, or leave in the sh1t. I really don't know what the PL wants from this anymore. A ruling that largely brings the industry to its knees creates a bigger problem than the problem that existed before it.

Southampton are bobbins mate. Ipswich are fun but it’s almost gamble ball. When we are on it, we are great to watch. Arse end of EPL most teams are just grinding results.

We looked far less tired than Bournemouth when we played them. Pressure was off that day. I think the situation is getting to the players. Seeing this out is stressful. I think a few of them (like KDH and Winks) have their careers riding on this. -
You are assuming that any other approach other than Enzo's would have put us in the position we are now (5 points clear of 3rd). This strategy got us there, so imo the manager deserves the right to proceed with it, especially if he was promised a project. The manager gets more tools to play with following the international break (Riccy back, fit Ndidi, Vesty not suspended, rested 1st squad), so fingers crossed things wont be so limited.
-
But Enzo hasn't said that, so its an unfair comparison. Rodgers practically owned our recruitment and sought after broken players he could remould, and then said he wasnt a magician. Enzo is still having to factor in the previous regimes hangers on. He still has the right to treat this as a project and in the summer there will be a big clear out that he will be front and center of.
-
For me its now on the players. If he gets this over the line and he largely gets the recruitment he needs, i expect to not be seeing performances like QPR and Sunderland. I think quite a lot of our current first team (and i include KDH and Faes in that) aren't good enough technically to execute his strategy. Really wouldn't be surprised to see KDH sold in the summer as i think he is a problem right now.

I also watched the end of the Leeds game and Stoke were all over them and had a cracking chance to equalise right at the end. Ipswich supporting mate said they were terrible for most of the game and ground their way back into it. That 3rd goal sums everything up with them. I think all teams are feeling it - you just feel it more as a fan. -
1 game at a time. Rotate in cup and play that game with no pressure (Chelsea will be the ones feeling the pressure). If we got booted out - then no tears from me. Even getting this far has been fun.
-
How did Nacho's cameo convince anyone he should be back in? I think the line up is heavily dependant on if Hamza is injured or not. Assuming he isn't, i think its; Justin for Doyle, Vetergaard for Faes. Ndidi for Akgun. Keep Vardy - we have a break coming up and Nacho can play the Chelsea game.
-
I remember those days! Lady behind me at the KP went for surgery earlier in the season and said she couldn't come back until February. I jokingly said we would be promoted by then. Im such a tool.

Hamza could barely run, and 100% his arm goes on the attackers shoulder because he couldn't react quickly enough. After giving every single niggle as a foul for 90 minutes i still cant believe the ref didn't give that. There just aren't enough players that he trusts to play that inverted role, and i wouldn't be surprised if Hamza is our for a little while now. -
A defeat and we stay top. But we don’t want to be dropping anymore points.

Games (including the cup) have been thick and fast. I imagine they have been able to do very little at Seagrave, especially with a threadbare midfield. Can actually get a decent session or 2 in before the Hull game and then the International break can't come soon enough. Then, with Riccy back and Ndidi in full fitness, i expect us to be a bit more like our old selves. -
Feels like a stat needs to be broken into 1st half and 2nd half of the season.

Would play him and Coady from here on. Faes head has completely gone. Flaps his hands around more than defending at the moment.
