I think that is a good way of putting it, but there also need to be checks and balances in place. Its fine for Enzo to be challenged and nobody in any walk of life should just get everything they want. A healthy 'everything on board' is what we need, but i don't want to end up with the position Brendan was able to get himself in.

This is because for some reason Southampton only play Huddersfield, Rotherham and Stoke.
-
If both parties are ok with this then he definitely deserves his chance. Everyone was predicting he would get caught out by the pacy forwards from the better teams, but he hasn't. Seems every mistake he makes gets picked on but no defender is infallible. I think he will do well in the PL and people need to remember that he wasn't playing the year we got relegated.

Chillax. We’ll just keep on winning.
-
He has set his bar so low that ok is seen as a massive success. He's proven he can be ok, so some consistency and progression needed from here.

hahah. As if he was going to play

Agree. In H1, so close to singing section and we were all joining in.

Sheffield Wednesday 2-0 Post Match Thread

Remember when we played Man City last season (Dean Smith first game). City bulldozed us first half and clearly coasted the second half. Only difference is we got a goal back (and could have got another). People have been desperate for us to kill a game in the first half for ages. Then when it happens they complain. First half yesterday was the best i have seen us all season. -
He was the best we have seen him for some time. Positionally he was very astute and in the first half worked really well with Fatawu. Tired a lot in the 2nd half, but this is a guy who never plays a consistent 90 minutes, so can't expect he will just start being able to. My issue with him was a little Brendanesqe, in that he shows very little intensity and really doesn't commit to much at all. Tidy when the ball comes to him but half arsed when it comes to challenging and pressing. However, he has had his injury and fitness issues, so could be that Enzo is happy for him to have that less intense role for now and just be tidy / technical. If he can stay fit and puts the effort in he could be half decent for us in the next 14 or so games (FA cup dependant), before he fu**s off to Torino.

I don’t think we’ve given away a penalty this season.

Were some shockers tonight. Refusing to give their defender a second yellow and instead a strong verbal warning. Don't need blue cards - just use the ones you have. Should have been down to 10 in the 1st half. But end of the 1st half took the piss. Pulled it back for a foul long after Mavididi had sprinted free, then allowed them to take a quick free kick. -
By the time of the 3rd goal.

I love Harry Kane, and don't wish anything other than success on him. I just don't understand why i find it so funny that he might not get a title this year.
-
Tonight is the night when Fatawu's left footed screamer goes in. Lots and lots of somersaults afterwards. If that doesn't get people singing nothing will.
-
And regardless of all of those things, there are plenty of people inside the stadium.

Don't know about Cinema (hate going), but we were at a preview of We Will Rock You last year where loads of people around us left just before the encore (which is Bohemian Rhapsody). They missed Brian May coming up through the floor to play the guitar solos. At one of those West Ham games () 2 guys sat next to us were playing Nintendo Switch for pretty much the whole game, with a small break to go and get a disgusting Sausage dinner covered in cheese sauce. There are a lot of strange people out there, and some support our club, but not all of them.

This is the bit a lot of people aren't getting. Its happening everywhere. A few years back i went to about 4 games at the London Stadium and people would stream out with out 5-10 mins to go. Remember seeing Noble coming on to take a penalty against Man U in injury time to draw the match - stadium was about 1/2 full at the time.
-
Enzo has given him plenty of chances this year.
-
Presume the game in hand is against Rotherham or Huddersfield?
-
Weird thing to say. Yes, getting hammered here but they are 8th and ahead of everyone's wet dream (Brighton). Last season they were flirting with relegation.
-
When they 'bite' and get drawn forward, if you can get the ball through the lines the amount of space you end up with is ridiculous. I also love watching it when it doesn't quite come off, because you know whats likely coming......
-
If i was a Southampton fan (shudder), i would only give a toss about getting promoted.
-
Am i right in that since his reintroduction against Plymouth, thats 10 goal contributions in 9 games? Thats some return to form!
-
Enzo looked pumped after the game.
