He's had to progress into L2 level, and has done well. I would like to think our fans would give him a bit of time to get up to speed at L1 level as well, rather than just assuming he will turn to dog shit.

Do we get to sing 'Straight back up....' again?

Why is Fatawu beyond criticism? I'm more than happy to celebrate the bangers and the amazing runs when he pulls them off. But you can't just ignore the problems because you like him? This is his 3rd season. I know his 2nd was with an ACL and the club did everything they could to help him through that. But this season he has shown a massive lack of emotional and football intelligence. I've seen him visibly arguing with several players, and at times appeared to have completely lost his head. Preston is a great example. A must win game. We are 1-0 up and he got fouled outside the area. He was apoplectic, arguing with the officials and our own players. Rather than dust himself down and get on with the task in hand - he looked all over the place. He then lost the ball cheaply in midfield (and i believe rugby tackled their player for a yellow card) and didnt track back laying in the floor pretending to be injured. 1-1. There have been lots of instances where his temperament has cost us. If you cant criticise that, then you might as well be clapping Winks on Saturday.

Problem is, and I hate saying it, he’s just a bit of a twat. We reminisce about the Maresca era, but he wasn’t a guaranteed starter. The goal he scored against Bournemouth was the first of those bangers to go in. Maresca I think had a way of grounding him as he was on loan and he could drop him. But this season he became undroppable, which is the worst for him. Seen him arguing with too many players to like him anymore. Not the team player you needed in this situation. And I bet he knows nothing about the club or the city. Bet he couldn’t point to it on a map. It’s all funny when you are winning.

Carsley has been at the KP a few times. I think even this season. I think this is a solid shout, and it’s probably at a level where everyone could be willing to take a risk. Especially if the remit is to promote youth. I’d buy into it for sure.

On friday he would have be clapped.
-
On Friday he played as if there was no pressure on him, because there was really no pressure on him. He'd not played for us for so long, so could rise above the sh1t show and just play some football, mostly in preparation for the World Cup. It also helped that Millwall, regardless of this amazing season theyve had, were largely appalling and he could eat up most of their crosses. But there have been countless times, for many teams, where players come back and perform well for a game or 2. I think this fixture really suited him and to some degree Millwall probably presumed he wouldn't be playing. If he was playing week in and week out and needed to be a fundamental part of ensuring we were playing to any sort of potential, and he had to deal with fatigue and fitness issues across 40 + games, would we see him playing consistently at the same level? I think the better championship teams would end up adapting once they had worked him out a bit. Was good to see though, but im not getting all over excited that he was some sort of missing link.

The situation is now too big for him, as the situation is unprecedented. This will need the leadership to step up and communicate. The less they do, the harder this will be.
-
Which obviously meant that they couldnt start looking for candidates. It took far too long to appoint Marti.
-
God - we might play several more academy players next season. So much more for you to hate.
-
If I do that I’m worried I might get a 5 year contract.
-
Everytime I’ve seen Okonkwo I thought he was decent. No idea why they are now playing Ward.
-
We had plenty of chances to win games during Marti's time too. Mavadidi had a golden opportunity vs Coventry at home for example. This isn't an excuse, but we shouldn't be calling out these individual moments - e.g we should never had gone behind against Stoke when we were 2-1 up. Against Swansea at home we we snatching at shots from anywhere. Rowett had plenty of games to turn this around - hes a complete failure.
-
And showing no tactical nouse to adjust anything against any team. Could have gone more attacking against Wednesday but still started the same cautious setup.
-
We all know exactly how this pans out. Our socials start preseason videos and we all watch the bleep test thinking our players might be fit. King takes some interviews talking about the difficulties ahead and how he will help the new manager when they appoint him. He will also take the 200 minute match against Leuven. Shortly after we sell Souttar to Sheff Utd for £1.5 mil, and still pay half his wages. Then 2 weeks before our first game - Bromley away on Friday night, the club announce Gareth Ainsworth as manager on a 3 year deal.

Why would the best want to come when their max pathway is League 1 football? At the end of the day the swimming pools and golf courses dont matter. Top half Championship teams are a better proposition than us. As a kid you have one shot at this, and even if we only spend 3 seasons in L1 you've probably let you best opportunities go. Long term strategy of Seagrave and the academy are now up in the air. Our best option to to leverage the talent we have, in the hope that some of better ones are going to be able to stay for at least a year. With Motsi, we are going to have to cut our losses. He wont be ready for the first team, and his pathway is largely ruined. Anyone around that age will be better off somewhere else. Our hope needs to be that our current crop can step up (Braybrooke / Nelson / Evans and co), and the generation after Motsi can be convinced to stay and we sort our sh1t out. Massive wasted opportunity.
-
Well then there is no chance he will get it.
-
The clapping of winks was outright weird. Every sideways or backwards pass was clapped. Even the misplaced ones. When he was near us someone shouted 'You're a w@nker Harry', which was met with someone saying 'Well, how is that going to help'. I did joke that i would applaud a forward pass, but after saying it i dont remember seeing one.
-
The smashed us in every offensive stat. They were unlucky really.

Fact, hope or dread?

Tough one this. I think after the Oxford game we dropped to 14th and that was before the points deduction. Before deductions we 6 points away from play offs. I always felt if we could just get a run of results together then we could be knocking on the door of that. But we never seemed to achieve that and it was one step forward 2 steps back. Then points deduction + King-gate put us in a relegation battle. That run of games were key, and it did very much put Rowett on the back foot. However, I feel Rowett has dragged us down to new levels of sh1te. The way people stuck up for him you would think he only had 3 or 4 games and no players. At one time he had Lacelles, Okoli, Nelson, Vestergaard Hamza and Aluko and could have tweaked the setup. Binning off academy players has meant we have no energy and we've depended on the players who always let us down. Rowett has really had no distractions. No cups and he had an international break where, even though it might have just been misplaced optics, decided to take a short holiday. His excuses are the same each week, and he still continued to do the same things he was moaning about. But the reality is that he has shown nothing. There have been no tactical tweaks to deal with different teams strengths. Same lineups, same systems, same problems. Teams walk through our weak midfield was so much ease, we may as well not be playing one. We needed to be winning games. The list of draws where we should have won against teams bang out of form is horrific. This got called out 'making us hard to beat', but the reality is that we just lost from winning positions. We starting taking pot shots from everywhere towards the end, but out big chances didnt increase. We just got more panicked. I think he had a very good path to keep us up and massively blew it. Both managers contributed, but i think Rowett had one task and he failed, so a lot of responsibility sits on him,

2 wins in 2026. A draw would top of one hell of a season.
-
Maybe. But it would be for the perspective of fraudulent incompetence, and from his interview still seems he quite fancies KP paying him for another season. Don’t expect much.
-
Rumour is he’s on a huge salary. He will have to go. Enjoyed his performance tonight though. Nothing was getting past him.
