  1. Pretty sure he played in that leuven game tha went on for about 6 hours.
  2. I remember Ayew and Daka missing. What was the other one?
  3. He also said 'we just need to keep doing the right things'. Last week Jakub looked heart broken, this week Begovic just talking media nonsense and couldnt give a shit.
  4. I watched all the preseason games - he looked way off it. Im grateful he got that loan though - its what he needed.
  5. Err, might be worth checking your facts. Position after the Chelsea game when he got sacked. Palace and Wolves were massively underindexing. We were still screwed under Cooper.
  6. Im not buying any statistical significance for the 2 clean sheets. Bristol were bang out of form, and missed a penalty. If that goes in (it was a poor one) then we all know what happens in that game. Watford were bang out of form as well, and were simply awful on the day. The draw was not in any way shape or form an indication of us being any better. That game should have been won. Rowett is a complete fraud.
  7. The amount of time spent injured is a concern. Was clearly playing at about 30% yesterday. He has a lot to do to sort his fitness out.
  8. I hate to be that person, but im going to be pedantanticly doing this. He has not made us harder to beat. And he is not better than Marti. There is no stat to suggest either point. Not that Marti was anything other than sh1t mind you.
  9. Like a few have said, you dont notice the rot until is starts to show. Businesses that don't adapt fail. Football is no different and if you are set in your ways you will struggle. This coupled with FFP and long player contracts, means that getting things right is very important. Think about it - Patson Daka will see out his contract here after being paid heinous amounts of money, and the only return to us in massive debt. That failure alone would sink many businesses. That just one of our mistakes. Unless you can consistently spend your way out of trouble (big 6 - minus spurs i suppose) you have to have a model that the whole club hierarchy buys into and that everyone is striving towards. In the modern age, this has to be based on data intelligence and moving forward - AI. You have to use data to source what you want, use clever business networks to know how/when to get what you want, and have smart people to execute and run/build/adapt daily. WE HAVE NONE OF THIS. The only thing we have had is money. That money could have been invested into the same systems you see at Brighton, Bournemouth etc. That money could have been used to increase the wealth of the business after our crazy success to generate more money to make everything better. Could you image how Brighton would have cashed in after a title win!?! Instead, we chose to spend it on players and staff who had no data to back up those decisions. The list of very expensive duds that even children could identify as not good enough is frightening. So this just brings me onto leadership. The people at the top are poor businessmen, poor strategists, not data people and do not operate in any smart fashion. When things aren't right, the cultural imbalance is toxic. Failure was just waiting for the perfect storm. Top had a bit of a 'festish' for Brendan Rodgers. For a while, this looked like a smart move and led to some success (although, you can argue there was significant failure in there before we saw the rot). However, Brendan came at a price (a bit of a medusa for Top). Brendan, was a bit of a fraud who had media connections and a reputation that players could buy into, but he was actually on a downward turn in his career and was about to be exposed as dated. Brendan didnt believe in data analytics, using established existing networks, being challenged or thinking differently. Brendan believed in Brendan. Brendan didnt care for cash flow, forecasting and planning etc, and Top obliged. We spent big and failed hard once the wheels fell off and Brendans frailties were exposed. What made this worse, is there was nothing left behind to pick up the pieces. I think Top saw his 'work' as appointing Brendan. Beyond that, i genuinely think he doesn't know what else he can do. When you need to adapt - you need options, but after sacking Brendan all our recruitment has been outright rotten or pure luck (Maresca). Brendan going wrong ruined anything Top had left to make this work. Once Brendan was gone, there were simply bones left behind. A well run business would have mitigated for all this risk, and been prepared for it. From what i undertand, this business didnt even sack him. Brendan literally had to beg to be sacked. Again - our leadership obliged and paid his severance in full. Someone said a while ago that the KP group and this family were gamblers. Everything you see in the running of our club tells you that is the case. Top decided to put all his chips on Brendan - several times. We've not recovered since.
  10. I had thought the PL might have put out all the stops to save Spurs. Really surprised they havent found out some irregularity with Forest and Marinakis that warrented a 6 point deduction. I am sure they wouldn't have to look hard!
  11. I suppose the only thing we have to look forward to is knowing the next manager is going to be even worse. And in 6 months we will all be saying we should have just given it to Rowett.
  12. Only way this happens is it he cancels his contract. Most clubs have some level of sense and noone is taking him. I actually dont think ive seen him jump in the last 2 games. He will head the ball if its coming towards him and he can stay on the ground. But he cant jump and win a header. Boggles my mind.
  13. No - we were right to get rid. At the time we were hoping to be in touching distance of play offs and Marti was drifting away from that. BUT, we massively messed up the next steps. The exact same issue happened as in the first PL relegation season. We just presumed if we handed to job to King everything would be ok. Those 3 games were crucial. We waited 3 games to appoint someone far worse than what we already had. Rowett was possibly the most dreadful choice we could have made, and far worse than Marti. So my feeling is, if Marti stayed i think we would have stayed up, but we would all still be considering the season a massive failure. The right thing to have done was to sack Marti and get someone good in quickly. Massive failure. We have to remember that at worst Marti was mid table. Rowett has put us in the bottom 3 even if you were to remove the points deduction.
  14. Lots of rubbish like this over the last 2 games. https://youtu.be/6RchfIQtswk?t=80 If Nelson was doing stuff like this people would be having kittens. And those balls he pings into midfield at a stupid pace always put us under pressure and never lead to anything.
  15. I had to listen to people around me say a few weeks ago 'it will be fine when Vestergaard is back.' People on here saying he was out best defender. He is, and always will be, complete gash. Paid as a senior pro in the team - has one trick which involved slowing everything down to his level. But there are always 3-4 key mistakes a game. Cannot see how we get rid of him though.
  16. People would then still say 'at least we are now a bit harder to beat'.
  17. Our defending for their goal: Why are we more concerned with cuddling the opposition. Hamza getting his Saturday thrills in there and Begovic is reliving his time at Uni. Jannik looking for some friends and Mavadidi taking a sh1t.
  18. Challenge accepted.
  19. I think so, although probably only just. We wouldn't have had those horrific 3 games under King and if Marti had been able to maintain his ppg i think we would have been ok. Remember, Winks would have remained out and we would have kept on using the academy players. Remember, Marti was sacked before the points deduction anyway, because we had drifted away from the playoff spots.
  20. This will probably be done. Then when a new manager comes in, back to 'aaah, Winksy's our best player'
  21. His 10 game form guide: -4 GD, in a supposed 'harder to beat' side. One of those draws was against the bottom team and we got battered by the team in 21st. To have no self reflection on this in his interview is appalling. He is giving the 'ive done everything i can vibes'. Pathetic.
  22. Manning is a complete tosspot. Should have recalled Alves when he was appointed.
