Ndidi is like a boxer who has been knocked out one two many times.
-
All i ask for tonight is for us to run hard and take a few chances when passing in the final third, instead of waking for a perfect opening to pass forward.
-
If we win v Plymouth and either of Leeds or Ipswich lose Saturday we will only need to win 2 more games of our remaining 4.
-
next goal wins
-
Drum roll......
-
See those three gilt edged chances we spurned between 90 and 97 mins last night? Ipswich won't do that.
-
No. Its boring. It loses or draws to ALL good teams we've played and allows teams who just want to sit and fight to beat us too easily. Based on only those two factors, its a shit system. The fact that 95% of the play is boring to watch is the worse part. Our system should be to get our most exciting and best players in space. Our goalkeeper touches the ball ten x as much as our best attacking midfielder. That's not entertainment

Its still in our hands. Unfortunately the useless ***** on the pitch are playing with their feet.
-
Millwall players all look like they might have been in the gym. Our players look like Jim's been in them.

Serious question. Is Ndidi a footballer?
-
Under no pressure whatsoever.

Doyle faes yunus ndidi Winks Hall vardy all playing absolutely walking pace. Criminal

If you are going to rest anyone, it makes sense for it to be the 19yo who has been pretty much ever present since Feb. He will be chomping at the bit come friday. Choudhury can't be trusted to defend or to pass well in big games, so he can't rest Ricardo. It is what it is now, either Ricardo will break down or he won't. Praet has proved he can be useful in place of Ndidi, and Justin can add some mobility in the last 30mins, other than that we don't have anyone on the bench who you would trust implicitly. Coady maybe if we needed him, Iheanacho if we needed to throw caution to the wind....

get a strong team out. go hell for leather and then look to manage the game from 2 or 3 up.
-
Wilf cant sprint full out any more I think is the main issue.

4 changes. Hermansen Justin Faes Vest Doyle Winks Yunus Praet KDH Mavididi Vardy
-
Yep, ndidi looked like he couldn't catch a cold when chasing two of those through balls. I wouldn't mind seeing mavididi in ndidis position and yunus on the left. I think mavi could be a gun in there. Ricardo Winks Fatawu Mavi KDH Yunus Vardy
-
Basically we score and we stop pushing as hard. We've done it 9 or 10 times. It's not like we sit back while we do it. We just stop running as hard. Mind boggling.
-
We are going to Need Vardy, Nacho, Justin and Coady to play a role in next 2 games. 9 points and I think we are going to be top. It's a big ask though 3 games in 7 days...

Hermansen for me. Completely nailed the goalkeeping position after a shitshow ever since kasper left. Enabling us to play a style we never could under Kasper, Ward or any other goalies we've had. Also, and often forgotten, his shotstopping has been another level ever since keeping out Haji Wright in the first game of the season. Particularly given that its usually been nothing to face for 40mins and then 2 or 3 guilt edged chances for the opposition. Ricardo second for me. Even at his worst has been a 7 and is the biggest miss when not available. KDH, Mavididi, Fatawu, Vardy have been our match winners and have some impressive goal and assist stats. That said, when they have been poor, they have been 4 out of 10 and cost us games with missed chances and stinking performances, which for me rule sthem out of player of the season. The fact KDH is ahead of Connor Chaplin, Adam Armstrong, Georgino Rutter is quite hard to understand for me. He's got better assist stats, worse goal stats and for me hasn't been quite the same player since the Jan window closed. Maybe coming back a bit now. Young Player would be Fatawu. Easy to forget he's 19 as when he's been good he's been truly outstanding.

totally agree. they also talk about the physicality being a massive thing in the championship. i just don't see it. i think they pace and power of premier league players is WAY superior to what i've seen in the championship. I also agree that i don't think that we've done anything to improve defensively apart from Hermansen being a much better goalkeeper. This is clear when you look at our record v 'good' teams this season where we have conceded 3 or 4 to Leeds, Liverpool, Chelsea. who are the only Premier League quality teams we've played; (i'm not counting Bournemouth reserves or Southampton down to 10men). When you look at it like that. We are still operating a system personnel which would be shipping 3 or 4 per week in the prem like last time we were in it.
-
that pass to the byline would be an absolute winner if we had anyone any good making the run, but all year it's been ndidi, akgun and casadei, none of whom are dyed in the wool inside rights. If Alves makes it, then maybe him and fatawu can strike up a link in that space next season. hopefully in the prem. they are going to have to because KDH and Ndidi will be long since gone!
-
Currently the problem is we get the ball out to him slow and he's got a choice of cross it to 1 person in the box v 3 defenders or slide rule pass to ndidi who hasn't quite made the run in to the box. So 9 out of 10 he passes it back to choudhury who passes it in to faes and the whole ****tardy merry go round starts again

It is a bit like a slow motion car crash. You can see it all happening but there's very little I think the club can do about it. We can't limit middling teams chances they are getting plenty. We dont create as much as we should and we dont finish when we do. its a recipe for mixed results and thats what we are getting. Teams have sussed us more and more unfortunately as the season has gone on. How to get at vesty how to nullify our front three and how to target our channels. All have been evident this season but now being routinely exploited. With current momentum we will be pitted against form teams like Hull, Coventry or Sunderland who we have struggled against in the playoffs. If we don't come through that then the EFL has a massive shit sandwich of penalties and fines waiting for us next season. A real sliding doors moment for the future of the club and hard to see where the warriors and personalities are who are going to drag us through.
