Hee Hee! Thanks. I can still hurl them a long way. Cheers! Dave š

For me, we must part ways with Ruud at the end of the season. We need a complete overhaul in the summer of both squad and at board level. For our new manager, I would really like to see us go for somebody like Dave Challoner at Stockport. Living close by, I watch Stockport a fair bit and over the past few years Dave has built strong teams that have been successful in winning the National League, League 2 and now they are nailed on for a playoff spot in league 1. Dave is very no nonsense and what I like about him is that his teams are disciplined, strong, organised and packed with players who give everything. There rarely seems to be a stand out player. However, thatās because every player is solid in their position. This type of manager has served Leicester very well in the past and Dave also doesnāt seem to be a Pep wannabe which for me is ideal. I fear however that someone like Dave wouldnāt be considered by Top as he seems to prefer a big name over someone with proven ability. To quote some words of big Nige. I think Top and his cronies are suffering from delusions of grandeur. I donāt want another big name ex player. I want someone who can build a strong team and who will mend the damaged connection with the fan base. My vote goes to Dave Challoner.

Letās hope she doesnāt take all the bloody cups with her. I canāt see us winning any more in the near future.

The Ward Brain Fart Sweepstake Thread
The mullet of Phil Gee replied to Bilo's topic in Leicester City Forum
61st minute. Thatās only because heās forgotten that itās a 2pm kickoff and runs onto the pitch at 3. -
My thoughts after our latest s**tshow! Leadership - There is zero leadership being shown at any level of the club. From Top to Rudkin to Whelan to Cooper to every single player. Without strong leadership any company or organisation will fail. King Power - This is a tricky one. Yes, I agree that Top might have lost some interest in us and would probably like to sell, but following everything that happened with Vichai, this has made it virtually impossible for him to do so. Instead, I think heās chosen to distance himself and hand the reigns to Whelan and Rudkin who are not showing the leadership needed. Cooper - For me itās time for him to go. He might have been all we could attract when we faced a points deduction, but that no longer applies. Weāve seen enough now to know that we need somebody better. Better to act now rather than later when we might be in a worse position with fewer games left. We simply have to find a way to survive this season and for me that means sacking Cooper now. Our playing squad has a severe lack of leaders, so I think we need a manager who can really drill some discipline and a clear and effective style of play into them.

There seems to be this belief today that the Man City way of playing football is the one and only way. I just donāt believe that. Our own style should always be based around the players we have at the time and the strengths of our squad. If that means low possession and counter attacking then fine. Equally, if it means kicking the ball out for a throw instead of playing a hospital ball to Mads then so be it. Better that than concede a soft goal. For me there should always be different options available to win matches, rather than just the one. I just think too much importance is placed on a philosophy these days.
-
Deflated? No. Iām glad heās going and hereās why. 1) I am sick of this Man City obsession. Yes, the style works for them because they are loaded and can buy the best talent available. Every other team is just a cheap imitation. Please can we adopt our own style and stop being another sheep. There are other ways to play football. 2) Enzoās obsession with Pep is a bit creepy! Copying his philosophy is one thing, but trying to look like him too! Would it be a surprise if he had a small photo of Pep in his wallet? No! 3) How good is he really? For me, Iāve never been convinced. The question in my head last season was are we doing well because of Enzo or in spite of Enzo? We were in the Championship with the most talented squad. Yes, we won many games, but apart from a few, I never felt we were that convincing. Come the second half of the season, other managers had found a way to play against us and Enzo wouldnāt change. We lost 10 league games last season. 4) We were always going to be a stepping stone for him. Enzo has no loyalty to Leicester. Why would he? He saw a great chance to get a foothold in English club management by taking us back to the Premier. With the squad available to him, the odds of success were good. If it wasnāt this summer it would have been next. Despite his talk of seeing us as a project, heās gone at the first opportunity. Actions speak louder than words. Who next for us? Good question! I would like us to recruit someone who puts value on building a solid and disciplined defence, which acts as a foundation for quick and decisive attacks. Not someone who is obsessed by how much possession we have. The constant playing out from the back last season was hard for my heart to cope with. Yes, every team is doing it now, but does that have to be the case? Why donāt we be brave and do something different rather than just following the crowd.

Jamie Vardy Appreciation
The mullet of Phil Gee replied to GeorgeTheFox's topic in Leicester City Forum
If I had to put a tenner on where I think Jamie will be playing next season it would be Como. I remember hearing an interview after our promotion was confirmed where he said he was on the phone to Dennis Wise at the time. Only Jamie will know how hard he found it in the Premier last time, and if he thinks he can still make an impact for us in what is going to be a very tough season. I suspect heāll view helping us back up to be a good way to sign off. Wrexham has been mentioned but I canāt see him going there. -
Enzo is just a Pound Land Pep. He needs to stop trying to copy Man City. They have Haaland, we have Daka. At this point he should be trying anything to get a result. Going 2 up top, throwing forward a centre back or trying a shot without the 50 sideways and back passes beforehand. We are far too predictable. Coady, Cannon, Albrighton, Nacho and Wanya must be wondering why they cannot get a game. It seems that Enzoās philosophy and stubbornness means more to him right now than the club getting promoted.

Are we bottlers and do we have a weak mentality?
The mullet of Phil Gee replied to Sly's topic in Leicester City Forum
I think what weāve lacked for years now is players with really strong leadership skills. Those who can galvanise the team when things get tough. Weāve had a very soft underbelly for a long time and we could really use a Walsh, Taggart, Lennon, Morgan or Huth type of character to give us that bit of spite and even nastiness to see matches out. At the risk of sounding like a dinosaur with a mullet, weāre too bloody nice! Yes, football has changed, but some of those old traits of leadership, spite, grit and occasional use of the dark arts would serve us well right now. -
Guess what happens in the 11th minute!

Blackburn 2-1 loss post match
The mullet of Phil Gee replied to jim5000's topic in Leicester City Forum
With the way things are going, give it 2 years and it will be. There are no excuses for tonightās shit show. Blackburn fully deserved to win. Fair play to them. Can we somehow persuade Chelsea to do a manager swap? I think we need someone like Potter to completely rebuild the team and restore some backbone, grit and aggression. We are far too soft and have been for ages. -
I fear that things have become a little too comfortable since we moved into Seagrave, and as such we have lost much of our edge and hunger. I think of it like 2 boxers. One who trains with the very best equipment in a perfect air conditioned gym, and the other who is out pounding the streets in the rain at 5am with very basic equipment. When things get really tough, who is best able to cope? It just all feels very fragmented. Players wanting to go, contracts being allowed to run down, others never getting a game, Brendan blaming everything but himself, question marks over the training regime with the high number of injuries, the whole issue of signing players and silence from the owners. It used to feel like everyone was pulling in the same direction, but not so much at the minute.

LCFC vs Crystal Palace - Match Thread
The mullet of Phil Gee replied to moore_94's topic in Leicester City Forum
Just a thought about why Cags is out of favour. Do I recall hearing a while back that Cags has a rather large man sausage? Maybe thatās it. BR doesnāt like the fact that there is a bigger dick in the club than himself. -

Reasons the board havenāt sacked Brendan

Allo Allo! Maybe it has something to do with a strange incident in the Seagrave canteen involving a flying helmet, an egg whisk and a stick of wet celery? -
Bāmouth v Leicester post match - pathetic again
The mullet of Phil Gee replied to Jakemoore's topic in Leicester City Forum
Sadly Brendan isnāt going anywhere soon. If he was heād have been out after the debacles at Brighton and Spurs. Whilst Monday night gave me a brief grin, the result didnāt hide the fact that a very poor Forest side could have and should have scored at least 3 goals. Onto Bournemouth who for me are becoming our new bogey team. That wasnāt the reason we lost though. I just cannot bear Brendanās logic with sticking with Ward and calling upon Amartey once again. We can all clearly see that these 2 players are simply not good enough. The problem is that Brendanās arrogance will not allow him to agree with us. Heād rather keep using them and see them make the same mistakes instead of admitting heās been wrong. Same goes with Cags. He wonāt get a chance even if he crapped a pile of shiny diamonds onto Brendanās cornflakes. Again he canāt admit that he might have been wrong to drop him. I fear that a mix of manager arrogance and owner inexperience will see us in a very bad place come next May. -
Been to the game tonight and had to sit in the Stockport end. The best way I can sum up our performance tonight was all fart and no shit. 78% possession is all very well, but do something positive with it. Itās like we were stuck in 2nd gear. Thank god for Iversen in the shootout.

Just to clarify my position before I continue. I believe that our owners are wonderful and decent people with strong ethics and that is a very rare quality in modern sport. I couldnāt wish to have better people in charge and I am forever grateful for what they have done and what they continue to do. That said, my question is this. Do you think that Top is ruthless enough? Iām thinking for example in terms of knowing when to call time on Brendanās reign and that of his staff. Vichai was a very experienced businessman and would clearly act quickly and decisively when he needed to. Before the tragic accident, I imagine that the plan would have been for Top to gradually take on more and more responsibility, with Vichai being there to mentor and guide him. My worry is that because Top now has so much responsibility on his shoulders, could this potentially hinder the decision making process at the club?
-
Not surprised. Nice to see that Brendan has learned his lesson from last week by picking Amartey once again. Please play him at right back. Thatās right back on the team bus! Soyuncu must be really p*ssed off! Amartey, the gift that keeps on giving!

Post match thread Leicester 2-2 Brentford
The mullet of Phil Gee replied to MPH's topic in Leicester City Forum
How much more evidence does BR need? You play Amartey, you concede goals. Once again he was at fault for both goals. He might be a lovely guy but he is simply not good enough to play in our defence. My Gran was a very lovely lady but I wouldnāt have played her in our back 4 either! Clearly many other reasons why our performance dropped off a cliff second half, but Amartey is a walking liability. Grrrr! -
Are you Rodgers in, or Rodgers out?
The mullet of Phil Gee replied to Sly's topic in Leicester City Forum
I canāt see how Brendan can turn things around now. He and his coaching team clearly cannot solve the problems that have been haunting us for a while now. He gives us the same reasons for the failures but is no nearer to solving them. I think Graham Potter would be a good replacement. Has done a solid job at Brighton and would probably see us as a good step forward. -
Please can a rule be passed where football has to be played on round pitches. I am sick to death with bloody corners!
