Ok, let’s just ignore the fact that how poorly we’ve been run means our short term future as a club has unnecessary limitations. I’m hardly saying Brighton are the best club in the land but some of the disrespect on here towards them is on such an entitled level. Clearly our recent history has been amazing and none of us could have ever dreamt of the success but ignoring another clubs business model that should see them perform consistently above their previous stature isn’t anything to mock IMO.
-
I mean, they haven’t incurred FFP penalties and didn’t make a huge profit last season. They have a model that has worked for them aka seen them way out perform against their stature. But yeah, Brighton are a joke and will get relegated next season 👀

The difference is that Russell Martin came through their academy and is from the area. Rosenior played there too….the links between the two aren’t that wild when take those factors into account.
-
Well they would have won the league if you take out August and anytime that they loss?! I might be grumpy today and obviously didn’t watch Ipswich much but Hutchinson over Fatawu as a nomination? 🤷🏻♂️

Some people’s obsession with “loan them out” always baffled me but love that Chilwell fact. Easy to say now but we really under appreciated Chilwell and gave Thomas a lot more love due to him not being Chilwell, I can’t defend his fanboy antics after the Chelsea game. For every comment about Thomas having Salah in his pocket, I personally think of him being rinsed by Pepe. I think history will show that we probably underrated Chilwell as a fan base. He is made of biscuits but other than Ricky P and Fuchs he’s been our best FB in the past decade IMO.

The ending to the season was a great advert for the Championship. Today has been the opposite, minimal individual talent and a lot of plodding football.

Vardy the only one that makes business sense to me. Vesty would want too much money (last big contract) and could see a few suitors overseas who wouldn’t be hurt by his lack of pace so much. Ndidi wasn’t great when returned from his injury, isn’t the DM beast so would be based on him slumming it for 3 months rather than acknowledging his injury record and 2 years of lethargic DM performances - shame as I loved the guy.

Who do you want for next season in the PL

I can’t see us spending £15m on one player with the number of additions we’ll need to make and our iffy finances. -
How has no one commented on how dapper Ricky P is?! 😎
-
Never heard of him before = he’ll be quality doesn’t it?
-
Him quoting “how hot it was” in his post match conference (he was whining about someone questioning him too) made me realise how Enzo’s comments were no where near like that Charlatan’s.

They stitched Fulham up with a silly loan fee if a certain % of starts weren’t reached. I would avoid any loan deals with Chelsea. -
Not sure if it’s been mentioned on here (apologies if has) but surprised it’s only been muttered very recently about Villa’s FFP/PSR situation.

Like 90% of the squad over recent years, genuinely not fussed about Kel leaving. I’m more annoyed how many players that we’ve see run down their contracts in the past two Summer windows. Kel like Youri before him, have proven how that lack of 5% effort at this level gets punished. Good luck Kel but your t-shirt was wrong btw 😜
-
This isn’t aimed at you mate but that still seems like silly money when (based on numerous comments on here) would struggle to get 1m for Kasey. I’m not saying Kasey is a lot better but sums us up as a club that we don’t seem to get ok money for our squad players.
-
I need to let it go but actually thought Under was better 👀

The bit at the bottom about Atalanta trying on January but didn’t leave but might now seems so odd. Surely with him on reduced wages he’d have been easier to pick up in January than this window? I get it’s harder for buying clubs in January but with our pending FFP breach surely we’d have listened to sensible offers for Wout?
-
Maybe I’m too passive about this sort of thing but I couldn’t care less. The action that Top and co make to remedy our financial mess is something I care about.

Like most (appear to be) I’m genuinely torn or potentially not overly concerned about Enzo’s future. I can’t overlook the toxic 5hitshow he walked into but also feel it’s lazy to ignore some of his outlandish comments to the media (I’ll walk, Leeds pre-match obvious examples). In a nutshell though, the players love him, there is always hope that he’s learnt from some of his errors (late substitutions, over relying on certain players) so think him staying would most likely be best for all parties?
-
Got to love a bit of auto correct. Genuinely gutted that we might never see Barry in a Leicester kit again though mate 😜
-
This is where my head has gone but you articulated it so much better. The “free transfer” talk only makes logic if wages are considerably lower than what we’ve offered so much dross over the years. If there becomes a bidding war between us and the likes of West Ham, I’d happily walk away.
-
I nearly pictured the future until you said about Enzo “resting some of the first 11” 😜
-
So true mate. Most likely won’t need to wait until August too after Rudders has a master stroke and increases our weekly average salary to 100k with the likes of average players like Brownhill. (I’m actually ok with Brownhill if on a free and on no more than 40k p.w, surely that’s what he’d be on at Burnley) I’ve been super positive since Monday but reality has sunk in that our board is still the same pile of hot rubbish that wanted to offer Jack Harrison 100k p.w last January.
-
I can’t say that I’m that excited about O’Hare but if on a modest wage, there are worse squad signings. I can’t shake that he was kept out of Coventry’s starting 11 for Kasey Palmer.
-
If he joined on Praet’s wages then we shouldn’t just have a points deduction but booted out of the football pyramid. Praet is allegedly on £80k p.w and there lies our biggest problem since winning the league. Brownhill surely wouldn’t expect a wedge anywhere near that?!
