Manager for the Championship rebuild - who do you want?
Levi Port replied to Happy Fox's topic in Leicester City Forum
We know the club put out red herrings, we know the club are trying to find out who is leaking. Sean and LM on twitter seem to have the same/ similar source or copy one another. Each one posts their update on Parker at the same time and also ‘broke’ the Luke Thomas news at the same time. I can’t get my head around a Parker appointment and am optimistically hoping/ believing that their getting their info from an ill informed red herring. Time will tell -
Manager for the Championship rebuild - who do you want?

Yes, but by that point he’d proven he was a serious manager. We played the best football I've ever seen a Leicester side play. 5th, 5th and 8th. It wasn’t perfect, red flags in there but you can just about understand why they let him mug them off for so long last season. Tanner said they believed he was the best manager we could ever attract and again I can see why they thought that. Hindsight now tells them otherwise. Parker does not have credit in the bank with Leicester like Rodger’s did. He’s also shown many red flags, most are very similar to Brendan’s. We’ve just been stung hard from the fall out of that, so why make the same mistake twice. I don’t believe they want him but I’m probably wrong. -

I just don’t believe the club would go for Parker after the way he threw Bournemouth under the bus. Just doesn’t make sense, yet here we are in the championship and he’s favourite. -
So, Players for the Championship rebuild, who do you want?

Zian Flemming is supposed to be quality I’m told, worked with a Millwall fan that said he’s far to good for them. Wouldn’t cost a fortune. -
Exactly, also it’s the Euro’s next year, we know how much he wants to play for England, he can’t push for the 11 whist in the Championship.
-
Hopefully our Chairman doesn’t stump up the cash for him to sit on the bench

Barnes is a brilliant finisher, now scores more then he should if you believe XG and that’s uncommon in wingers, especially in the Prem. But he doesn’t do anything else at all and thinks he’s the star man. I feel he’s always playing for himself. I remember Roma away, he looked like he couldn’t give a ****. He can be so so lazy. Never try’s to play anyone in. Cant beat a man. He gives it only if he see’s the one two. So many games pass him by aswell, passenger to often. He could give and do so much more and that’s what has annoyed me and I know so many others. I will say though, if you build a team around him, creating chances for him in the channels, like we used to with Vardy, or how Liverpool did with Salah and Mane in their day, he’d score 20 goals a season in the League alone. So maybe my annoyance is misplaced. Fair play to him good luck where ever he goes.

Seen he assisted their keeper this season, hopefully he can help get Ward his first goal for us, help him kick start his career here

Used to rate Hassenhuttl, played some exciting stuff on the pitch but it was a bit weird when he dropped to the floor and cried after beating Klopp’s Liverpool, and he wears prostate gloves. After signing two of the players that we beat 9-0, knowing how that went, if we then go and get the manager it’s just too funny. -
Can’t believe anyone could entertain the thought of letting him go. Shouldn’t be going anywhere, it means more to him. We’ve gone down largely because the players didn’t care enough, foolish to then let him of all players leave. Every team needs players like KDH, set’s the tone with his desire and hunger. I saw him having a go at Evans and Barnes on Sunday for sloppy play so he’s no simp. By all accounts has been devastated by the way this season has gone, unlike most. He won Player of the season when we finished 8th in the prem, has had many brilliant performances for us and has proven himself in the Prem let alone the Championship. He hasn’t had his best this season but who has ? He still started 8 of the 9 games we won. He’ll boss the championship. Play him on the left side of midfield, let him off the leash, chase all game, late runs into the box and he’ll help get us back.

Had actual anxiety about the game all this week. Don’t know why I do it to myself. Think il actually do lasting damage to my body if we stay up.
-
They’ve absolutely put this in for potential added drama on the final day of the season. Too obvious to just implement it on the final day, so they do it a GW earlier. Still obvious anyway. Manipulation if it goes against us and Everton win it in the 98th, brilliant change if Vardy keeps us up in the 100th min.

That’s 20/21 season he was immense, and if he didn’t get injured before that Newcastle game we’d have got top 4. We ended up losing to Newcastle, beat United, lost to Chelsea and then Spurs. When he played in 21/22 I thought he was very good, the results largely reflect that I believe. Although I’ve had a look at last season and he didn’t play as much as I remembered. So I take your point, and absolutely this season it has been a joke with his injury’s and the wage he’s on. I do think he has looked very good the last two games considering how long he’s been out, and he’s not lost what little pace he had. Let’s pray he shuts out West Ham on Sunday if he’s fit aha.
-
Have to really disagree, when he’s fit he is immense. He’s just never fit now. When it was Jonny and Fofana back in 20/21 Jonny was the better of the two, and as soon as he injured his plantat fascia, Cags came in and we crumbled. Wes looked lost.

Rodger’s ball failed when the intensity went out of our play. We needed to refresh it to keep the squad hungry on the pitch. We didn’t and the hunger went, and so did Rodger’s job (Deservedly he handled it with no class). Possession and/ or control in Modern football is rewarded with results. Look at all the consistent top sides. There’s different ways to achieve that, be it a Liverpool aggressive press that we saw on Monday. Or a Pep controlled low risk buildup working 3/4 high quality chances per game. Anyone wishing for long ball football is living in the past. I don’t know if Russel Martin would be a good manager, but at least he has a style of play similar to what we’re used to and that which our youth sides have been taught to play also (Rob Tanner has mentioned this). I would say though, our fan base naturally buys into high energy aggressive play much more than a laboured style like Russel Martin. So I would go for a manager more aggressive than him out of possession. -
KDH captain, Will Alves with a pony tail and is on 13 assists for the campaign. Sammy has become a hybrid of Modric and Busquets. Were just about to miss out on Europe as we keep throwing away late goals from corners and individual mistakes as the pressure is too much. Singing section is no more and fans are strapped to their seats with padlocked belts. New stadium is still being spoken about, Tops no longer sad and King Power is back with a vengeance to rule the worlds Duty Free. Luton airport only sells Leicester shirts. Rudkin’s gone, caught up in a scandal on the 2023 pre season trip to Singapore.

Will you still watch the Premier League if we go down?
Levi Port replied to BenTheFox's topic in Leicester City Forum
Will watch every MOTD and the big games as usual, but if a game in the championship is televised that has any slight relevance to us in that league I’ll pick that over the Prem. I remember missing CL games as Championship games clash so that will be a shame as I do enjoy them. Leicester over anything though. -
Random / Semi Unheard of Players you’ve spotted that we should look at

He’s know, but I’d love Pellistri on loan. Amad will go back to United, Antony there also, Sancho can play off the right. He’d be third/ fourth in the pecking order. He would cause damage in the championship. We’ve proven to United in the past we handle their loans well. He’s probably too good though considering he plays for Uruguay's first team. -
Absolutely, for starters that penalty against Everton. I think he’s trying too hard and the pressure is too much now. He shouldn’t have been made captain personally, he’s dropped since then. He played well against Spurs that first game but since then he’s been trying too hard and it’s hurt his performances and ultimately our league status. But 19 goal contributions in 29 games for a team in 19th, with some mesmeric performances and having to play with an injury is a very good season. We just know how good he is, and we expected him to save us.

Id do disgusting things to get him in. Imagine a front two of Gift and Seniorman. -
I know everyone is jumping on Maddison now and he’s not helped him self after games, but he’s an easy target. Realistically, without him we’d be below Southampton and long gone.
