  1. Absolutely not. Not over a one off game, not over a two legged tie or over the season. Just imagine Dyer and Knockaert (and Mahrez when he joined in the Jan) up against this defence. Would be a bloodbath. At the other end, our defence now would not handle Nugent’s pressing and Vardy of then.
  2. 8 defeats already with 8 to play is absolutely shocking. Can’t believe that there were people saying this team was better than the one 10 years ago!
  3. No. The club isn’t broke, just above the financial rules. It is the wages they are committed to that is the problem not money available to pay them.
  4. I understand perfectly what you were saying thank you and it is a load of rubbish. Disagree with the rules all you like (I don’t agree with them myself and think they are elitist) but to compare us breaking the financial rules with the string of poor decisions made to a bad pass on the pitch is such an odd point to make as an attempted defence
  5. See I think most are balanced albeit that even with balance comes being naturally a bit more pessimistic or optimistic. Problem is, even if you said for example, 90% are balanced(ish) and 5% are let’s call them blue tinters, I.e Enzo, the club whoever can’t do anything wrong and the other 5% are let’s call them wingers. That 10% minority are a lot more vocal and it therefore seems a lot more as most balanced supporters are naturally quieter about it. My issue is, when as a balanced supporter, you do express reservations as you yourself say is fine to do, you get met with aggression from the extreme vocal blue tinters and get accused of wanting us to lose or wanting hoofball etc. Whereas the true wingers as it were, tend to just post for their own venting and it’s a forum so why not. Thats why it’s the blue tinters who piss me off more as if you don’t like reading someone’s posts because they are too negative for you, just put them on ignore rather than being aggressive!
  6. A poor pass is not against the laws/rules of the game. If a law/rule of the game is broken on the pitch (I.e bad foul) it is punished so unsure of the point you are trying to make. Off the pitch, a poor decision that doesn’t break rules would not be punished, I.e the odd duff signing. If you make enough bad decisions over and over until you are breaking the financial laws of the game, of course you should get punished. Your point is like saying ‘It was just a poor decision that I was drunk when I got in my car and drove into that person so I shouldn’t be punished’.
  7. I guess it depends whether he pushed for it particularly or if he was ‘encouraged’ to go. We know with Kristiansen for example that he didn’t seem keen to stay but I don’t remember seeing anything specifically for Soumare in this regard…
  8. The clubs defence and those defending them is in the name of ‘ambition’. Surely there is more to ambition that chucking money at shite and I think some are confusing the two. Is it ambition to give Ryan Bertrand £80k odd a week? No, ambition would have been to look for an up and coming left back with a high ceiling. Is it ambition to spend £30mill on Perez? Don’t get me wrong I thought he was ok and not as bad as people made out but for £30mill you should be getting more than ok. Same with Vestergaard. Why not get someone with a higher ceiling? Daka and Soumare I get and nobody was complaining when they signed as they were younger players who had done well in Europe and came with a high ceiling. For one reason or another it hasn’t gone as they’d have hoped though.
  9. He has more class in his little finger than Rodgers did but I don’t think he is just walking out. They are all motivated by money to some extent or another so won’t just walk away from a contract. Not to say he wouldn’t have his agent working on getting him poached if he does want out. I like him a lot but with all this stuff about the finances and the club being a mess I do wonder whether it was the right appointment in a way with the investment you need to make it work. Time in the short term and longer will tell but I wonder whether a more pragmatic approach might have been sensible. Not that realistically we would be doing much better points wise with anybody else but in terms of the squad building needed.
  10. Without getting into whether or not Faes is in a bad run of form and responsible perhaps more than other individuals for the drop in our defensive record as all this can be a matter of opinion, but as a general point, you don’t just keep playing certain players in the 11 week in week out if they have been poor, just because it was ok previously!
  11. Puel is the only manager since Pearson who actually had us running well off field. On the pitch may have been dull but in hindsight and with what we had to put up with from Rodgers, I am seeing Puel’s time in an even more positive light!
  12. Most of my angry is aimed at the club for being such a shambles. However, remember when the whole ‘super league‘ drama happened and there was demand to deduct points and punish ‘the 6’. And what was the response? Oh yes, ‘you can’t punish the fans for the owners’. But of course, anybody outside ‘the 6’, yeah it’s fine, drag them through the dirt, deduct points, do all you can to damage the clubs and the local economies that rely on them right! It re-emphasises that fans and communities are an irrelevance. That said, as well as those running the club deserving this, so does a large part of our fan base. Those who fought in the stands against those wanting Rodgers gone and shouting down those who were demanding change. Those who shout down any suggesting the club is not perfect with ‘it’ll be fine’. In short, KPFC fans not LCFC. You do deserve this but no doubt will be first out the door if/when we have a spell like we did 20 years ago….
  13. Don’t get me wrong, I’m of the ‘f*cuk the club’ viewpoint. But, if the EFL actually had clubs interests as their priority (which they don’t), a transfer embargo is not a helpful punishment. It’s not like we’ve been doing Forest style trolley dashes. Our actual purchases and the fees have been modest for many years. It’s obviously the wages issues. The only way we can get things under control is by getting rid of big earners and replacing them with lower wages. We will still need a squad of players so all this does (if it does carry on into the post season), is force us to keep players instead of sell with our wages staying high (which is probably what the EFL really want so they can dole out punishments instead). It feels to me that rather than embargo for situations like ours, restrictions would be more appropriate. For example, must have a zero or negative net spend. At least we could sell and replace then. We didn’t exactly have a positive net spend last summer. Or wages wise, any wages off the books from transfers out/expired contracts must be slashed by 50% by the total incomings. At least that would allow us to deal in the window and build a squad whilst getting the wages and finances under control….
  14. Urgh. It’s going to be awful isn’t it…
  15. I agree with you! The poster I quoted said about Pearson making changes during the great escape and Ranieri tweaking what Pearson had done so I was just adding to that that Ranieri had made more significant changes to address an area that wasn’t working very well. I doubt Enzo will change anything. Hopefully if so, it works and we get the job done. End of the day, it’s about results now and I don’t give a damn whether that’s achieved by the same system, tactics and personnel or whether any of those things change!
  16. Not to forget Ranieri made big changes to things around October when we had been shipping goals so it wasn’t just initial tweaks to Pearson’s.
  17. Exactly it. Forget previous ‘club mottos’ like ‘Foxes Never Quit’ and ‘Fearless’. The attitude summed up by the club leadership and large sections of our fans is ‘We’ll be Fine’!
  18. 100%. This goes for any manager. There’s very few managers who have the ‘managerial stamina’ as it were to go on in the same role for years and year and reinvent and rebuild sides in the way the likes of SAF did at Man Utd and Wenger and more recently, Pep and Klopp. These are elite managers. You get ones at a lower level like Robins at Cov but mostly, mangers have a shelf life so this is nothing against or specific to Enzo. You can also trace many of our current issues to the last time we thought we needed to secure the future of our manager. I don’t want to see us do that again. We would do better to do what the likes of Brighton do and be working hard to have options to replace rather than worry about keeping hold of individuals.
  19. Did it say they can’t? No. I said ‘hard to see past’…..try reading before commenting yeah? We may finish top ahead of Leeds. We may finish 3rd behind Leeds and Ipswich. But as I said in the post you haven’t read, they have everything clicking and bar a fall off the cliff in form, you can’t see ‘both’ us and Ipswich finishing ahead of them. I.e let’s say we pull our fingers out and get back ahead of Leeds, I’d still bank on them finishing ahead of Ipswich. But the fact I said ‘hard to see past’ and ‘would have to fall off a cliff form wise’ is not exactly me saying it can’t happen is it?
  20. How dare you suggest such a thing What you should say, to toe the party line is that Leeds are crap and Leicester will still finish 10 points ahead of them! It’s very hard to see past Leeds finishing in the automatic spots now. You have the quality in your squad, a manager with the know how and the form and dare I say it, arrogance around your club (I don’t mean that in a bad way). You’d have to fall off a cliff yourselves to finish 3rd now.
  21. Best in mind I have selected on this ‘poll’ that I think we will finish second, by virtue of Leeds looking much stronger now and having favourable fixtures but having seen enough positive signs from us that we can do enough after the break to hold Ipswich off. So I’d say pretty much impartial and neither in denial about what has happened over recent weeks nor a ‘bed wetter’ as you like to put it as I’m not doomsday thinking the season is over etc. There is all to play for in the 9 games remaining. That said, and it needs saying, you are far more irritating than any of the perceived bed wetters on here. When will you just give it a rest? People are entitled to their views! Awaits standard laughing reaction to this post from sbfox
  22. Coming from behind twice at Hull after scrapping a win at Sunderland and then coming from 2-0 today (until the red card changed the game) have answered some of my concerns about the mentality as we have shown some fight. We were not going to lose 3 in a row and go straight back into great form. There have been plenty of shoots of recovery. As such, I am feeling positive and going for second place and autos. I can’t see past Leeds now for the title. However, I feel this we’ll be fine complacency is just as unhelpful as negativity. If the complacency is what is transmitted from the stands to the players that’s an issue. We need to be positive and get behind the team but a positive sense of urgency and not complacency. We can’t ignore what has happened to our lead and it does follow a concerning pattern from previous years.
  23. To be fair, these teams could be more likely to ‘have a go’ which seems to have treated us well so far. The bad results have tended to be against those who have shut up shop from the off. Obviously these sides would be well advised not to do what they may normally do and take note of how those who have beaten us have done it but you never know.
  24. Exactly. I mean Vestergard was turned too easily for me but what the hell was Faes doing! I’d rather us play Nelson from here on in as Faes is just a liability now!
  25. Let’s not blame Doyle. He was hung out to dry by Faes and Vestergard and either tried to do something or just stood and let him go through. If he’d done the latter he’d have been slaughtered!
