  1. Slightly different to taking one game (ours yesterday), which had 4 big decisions of which 3 went against us (the one for us being the only one that was actually somewhat correct) and trying to make out we are getting good fortune from the officials
  2. I shouldn’t laugh at them. They have really loyal fans and so little investment, it makes every season at this level a real struggle. But yeah at this stage they are an easy 3 points!
  3. I see Ipswich fans are moaning at our ‘soft’ penalty yesterday with no mention of the even softer (and outside the box) one given against us a few minutes before (obviously doesn’t count as a bad decision if the penalty is subsequently missed anyway), as well as them conveniently missing the fact we had another one not given and a clear red card for Seri ignored to the point of corruption! The bias of some football fans never ceases to amaze
  4. Just context isn’t it. It wouldn’t be crap no and I’d take second right now just to get back up. Even if we come straight down, we will hopefully be in a better position financially to go back up and stay up. But it would be disappointing after how we have led the league to not finish top. And to have Leeds fans crowing that they are the best team in the league after all would be grating.
  5. Watching the EFL highlights myself and the presenter interviewing Enzo did his talking for him. Compared to the commentator who was obviously following EFL guidelines referring to our penalty as soft but no comment on theirs Shocking that it’s the same ref as the Ipswich away game though. I hate when teams do it but we need to look after ourselves and demand he is kept away from our games. What if we go into the Blackburn game needing a result for promotion and this p**** is put in charge again?
  6. Agree here. I am one of Daka’s biggest defenders on here but 5 minutes left, Vardy on a hat trick. It wasn’t exactly the difference for Vardy having a break and also no where near enough time for any striker to get into the game coming on.
  7. Just been watching the EFL highlights and the presenter did Enzo’s talking for him in the interview about the 3 shocking decisions given/not given against us. It was a very good point. After 3 defeats, 4 points away in these two games is a decent return. We’d have likely won had we not been up against 14…again. Hull are also a very good side. Much more impressed with them than Leeds or Ipswich whenever I’ve seen the sides play. Obviously they haven’t got the volume of points those two have and sample sizes taken into account.
  8. You know what though, Middlesbrough and QPR did us 2-1 and both only had the 2 shots on target. As a stand alone game yesterday, absolutely taking that and at least we were on the right side of those stats for once!
  9. Not normally one to comment on refs either but these last few weeks particularly have been shocking. We have genuinely lost points as a result and it’s certainly not evening itself out. With this news of us challenging the EFL and winning, come on, of course they aren’t above instructing the refs to go against us. All these organisations are as corrupt as one another. That’s before you have the reason others have highlighted of them trying to make the league tighter. That one with him reaching for the card then changing his mind is shocking. Compare that to how quickly the red card comes out the pocket for Leeds opponents? Yeah nothing funny about that at all!!
  10. Norwich may disagree with you yesterday but yes, apart from Rotherham at home, you’re probably right. There seems to be very few teams who aren’t still involved in either end of the league. 4 teams so far ahead at the top and Rotherham so far back at the bottom inevitably means the middle is so tight. As the weeks pass, there will be more teams who either become safe or can’t make the playoffs and may be in beach mode I guess.
  11. I’d say we need a project style manager. Short term fix managers themselves come wanting to splash cash. We need to recover slowly, decrease the wage bill and go again. Obviously Enzo’s project vision is more specific and might take a bit longer to come together than others but it’s still the right way to go.
  12. It’s just hugely unbalanced. We don’t need 4 strikers (even thought as I say above, they are not the problem individually) and we don’t need 5 goalkeepers. If you could say remove Ward and Nacho from the squad and have these numbers in the form of another winger and number 8 even, I think this would have helped us hugely. In terms of the quality of players we do have, you’d be reaching to suggest we have over performed but depth in key areas is lacking. This isn’t something to be put at Enzo’s door. You can only do so much in one summer and one (very quiet) winter windows.
  13. Disagree with this. 3 of these (Kel aside) have had strong returns on the runs of games they have had and if any one had been the ‘main man’ for the season rather than being chopped and changed, would have likely had strong returns. Complete lack of any depth in central midfield (8’s and Winks cover) and on the wings are/have been far bigger issue imo.
  14. Good shout and hopefully correct! Obviously things change since the first game, Southampton are much better for example, whereas Blackburn maybe worse but end of the season vibes to contend with! But, I hadn’t realised how good our record was against the 9 teams we have left to play. 9 wins from 9, 24 goals for and 7 against in the reverse fixtures. Hopefully some more of that!
  15. Horrible game, horrible pitch, horrible ref. Decent result and will take it. At least we showed some character to come back twice from behind.
  16. Amazing that there are plenty on here who genuinely seem to believe there is no problem here and everything is all rosy! Absolute heads in sand stuff!
  17. It will be a directive from the EFL after this stuff to come out mid week….best get used to it for the rest of the season!
  18. Lunging tackle from behind, not getting the ball from Morsy and not even a free kick
  19. Come on, it’s obvious what the other poster means. There are different routes to the same end (in this case being over the financial limits). Forest spend so much on 30 odd players and the replaced half of those in the winter window. Everton spend loads repeatedly with nothing to show for it and spend above where they are operating. In the past few years we have been operating at the higher end of the table, playing in Europe etc. We didn’t just go and blow a load of cash in one window or two. We got caught out by our success and the wages climbed up and up. We then had a manager who brought the whole thing crashing down. Yes there has been incompetence and mistakes made but I would not say outright recklessness. You can still be at the same end game without feeling it’s fair to be tarred with the same brush as Everton and Forest.
  20. They will definitely move from when they are currently scheduled as they are down for 3pm on the Saturday so the tv blackout would apply. Probably 12.30 or 5.30 on the Saturday.
  21. Another one for Forest and Coventry fans to be furiously discussing in the year 2247
  22. They have been excellent at home though. If anything too good they they are due a bad result but I’m hopeful!
  23. I have a good feeling about Sheff Weds at Hillsborough this Friday! Wednesday are on a hell of a run and performing far above their current position.
  24. Obviously results are the main thing now so big positive to get back on the board with a win and get over the 80 point mark. Also after a string of defeats, it is probably unrealistic that we had come back with a Stoke away like dominant performance and hammering of a scoreline. However, we need confidence back and the performance was so poor it won’t really have helped in that regard. It’s fair to say only a handful of sides including Sunderland we’d have got away with that based on either those teams being awful or in shocking form themselves. Against most teams in the league we’d have likely been punished and folded again. We are very much in a position of putting our hopes on this international break and Ricardo and Ndidi being back properly. It’s just a shame after how good we have looked earlier in the season, to be looking like if we do get over the line, we’ll have staggered not swaggered over it and the momentum that we would have took into next season.
  25. 4 of them on 38 points spanning the relegation zone as well! What a job Danny Rohl is doing at Wednesday as well! If he keeps them up he’d be manager of the season for me, closely run by McKenna.
