Agreed. The 5th place finishes too. Villa and Newcastle both managed to secure top 4 shortly after we failed twice. It shows it wasn’t an impossible task. And context is vital like what you have provided for the European performance. To blow a 14 point lead in any scenario is a failure. You’ve done the hard work, you just have to grind a few results out and essentially not completely blow up like we did…twice.

He won’t cost much being out of contract next year, £500k maybe? But who knows, he might stay but then it’ll be another out the door for free next year. Nelson similar, professional clubs and scouts will base their views on more factors than had a bad run in a toxic team where everyone was awful so like Monga, I don’t factor Nelson into my thoughts on the squad for next season as he is gone in my view. Vestergaard and Skipp, it’s easy to assume we’ll be stuck with them and I tend to have a quite negative outlook on this (could call it realism). But agents will be working. Vestergaard might get a 2 year deal in Europe on lower wages but think it is preferable to L1. Skipp more difficult as there is amortisation to consider whereas we could give away Vestergaard for free fee wise. Maybe someone takes Skipp on loan and covers the year amortisation and wages best case? Probably not, at the least we probably subsidise wages. We definitely need a senior striker. We can’t put that burden on the likes of Hutchinson. Not sure it needs to be 442 if you have wide forwards such as Evans and Alves but I do enjoy the Fryatt/Howard partnership in L1 last time!

This one is obvious. Sometimes we have missed out on obvious free transfers because we have had to clear out others and positions are stacked. Centre mid, particularly defensive but all over really, is quite a light position. James is going, Winks should go but his replacement is Braybrooke. Page as a youngster but he’s more attacking. There’s definitely scope to make Collins happen asap. Well you ideally need the manager in place of course….

Places like the Facebook pages are exactly the same with the opposite viewpoint though. Also I don’t think it’s critical to point out it’s rather bizarre to have a number of people saying Aiyawatt in but Rudkin out as there is a clear link that is basic to understand there. Rowett and Glover are fair enough and it’s perfectly understandable that a small number of people will want to give Rowett a chance or don’t necessarily put the issues as Glover’s door and don’t mind giving him a chance. I like you put all 4 out but you’ll always get different opinions.

Just on Rowett, even if you discard the results and ultimately relegation, he has not proven in any way he is the right guy to build around the youth players which we need next season so he definitely has to go for me. And I’m someone who was ok with him coming in and backed him.

Centre backs - I don’t believe either will be here. I’m quietly confident with a year left, Vestergaard will finally move. His agent will be working on it. And Nelson, I’m unsure where this belief he is staying comes from. He has already proven himself before this season at Championship level, has 1 year left, cheap and young. Clubs would be fools not to pick him up cheaply. Centre midfield is a conundrum. Depends if we play 2 or 3 and on Braybrooke. If 2, what you have out could be right and maybe Page as the 10. If we play 3, with 8’s, Page is the obvious choice on the left. If Braybrooke could be the right hand side, Skipp can sit in the middle if we don’t move him or go for Archie Collins from Peterborough on a free. If Braybrooke sit central, we need someone on the right. Evans once he gets up to speed and Alves as wide forwards looks good. Definitely need a striker but with Hutchinson very much included.

It’s interesting enough to see that 19 people have voted to keep Aiyawatt they haven’t also voted Rudkin to stay! On your point, I guess it’s where you put the line between youth prospect and who it’s worth naming specifically. If it’s been around the first team or out on loan; Page Aluko Braybooke Are the obvious 3. Joseph Evans Are the next 2. Monga not mentioned as assuming he will go. Silko Thomas? Souttar I’d be happy to see stay. I don’t dislike Skipp but he’s been part of the back to back relegations in the only 2 years he’s been here (as opposed to at least having the promotion season as some form of positivity) so I’d hope he could be moved on. Nobody else I’d keep if it was possible.

Looks like Sheffield Wednesday are now going to start on 0 points rather than any further deduction. Plus new owners in and they will be able to put a squad together. This doesn’t bode well for us whatever our ambitions might be. With 4 relegation spots, the priority has to be avoiding a further relegation. Having another team in disarray and a deduction might have helped.

It’s unrealistic we will move every single player we would like to. Fortunately, many of them are 2027 contract ends so ones like Faes, Reid, Vestergaard and Winks with the extra year that has come out, we might be able to get rid of and Nelson, Stolarcryk etc will fetch fees. Thomas is one that thanks to the stupid contract extension, with increased wages apparently, will be hard to shift without hugely covering wages. But he does need to go as much as anyone. Whilst he might technically be sufficient, he will get bullied and honestly, he just doesn’t have the mentality to be a professional footballer. People sometimes just end up in the wrong profession for their capabilities and that is the case here. Kristiansen is another big problem with too long left on his deal.

Must be. It’s the whole ‘he just needs to get rid of Rudkin and we’ll be fine’ mentality. Rudkin stays whilst Aiyawatt does. The shit culture is set by Aiyawatt. Voting to keep Aiyawatt is a vote for no change.

Loved him as a player for us. But no as manager. Looking at how the title winners talk about KP, I just don’t want any of them coming back in to manager us under this ownership. They are too close, had all the nice gifts and stuff and won’t see anything wrong with how the club is being managed. See the likes of Albrighton, Morgan and Huth who we know have standards from their playing days but won’t call it how it is.
