A draw. Both lose 2 points. Not a massively positive result for Oxford at home and ground gained on Blackburn.

IF (a big if) we stay up under Rowett, do we keep him on?
LCFCJohn replied to LCFCCHRIS's topic in Leicester City Forum
I’d lean towards yes currently if we stay up. My concern with not going with Rowett would be going with some shit ‘philosophy’ like Cifuentes or a ‘name’ like RVN. Look at Sheffield United. 90+ points and play off final under Wilder. Sack him and bring in Selles the philosophy manager. Awful and rooted at the bottom of the league. Wilder comes back and they are looking really good again and climbing the table. I’d rather have someone who is a good fit, demands standards and gets the team doing the basics right. Rowett is making a mockery of those who said the players wouldn’t ’have him’. And this McCarron guy. We know he’s just a puppet for Aiyawatt and Rudkin right? To shield them. He won’t actually be making decisions. If he was actually both competent and been given the responsibility needed, he wouldn’t be here. -
Well let’s make a link here. He has scored a couple in recent games including the last game and gets dropped. Do you think getting dropped after scoring is a way to help any striker become prolific?
-
Nice for him to get the goal. Looked solid and his bursts out of the back with the ball helped us gain ground up the pitch quickly a few times. Poor for the penalty and needs to learn from that as another day he isn’t bailed out by Jakub and the momentum swings the other way.
-
He’s improving rapidly under Rowett. It goes to show that people that just slate players and label them non-league etc are completely ignoring the psychological side of the game. I have always said that Thomas’ development was an absolute shambles from the club. He then went on loan to an abysmal Sheffield United side getting pumped week in week out. The negativity of that loan likely carries on to the second half of that season at Middlesbrough and so on. And he has increasingly been in this hole. He is showing he can be solid enough at this level. My main concern would be whether Rowett will leave him a more confident and improved player or whether his improved form might be linked to Rowett and tank again under a new manager…

I was going to say the same. I think it actually tells us something. In that moment, after saving the penalty, he’d have been full of adrenaline and acting off instinct. And his instincts were to release quickly and send us on the break. It says to me that the slow build up from the back is being forced upon the players not what they instinctively want to do.

Can still see Bristol City coming back and getting something. It feel they are still a better side than us but us leading is more down to them not getting started yet than it is about us.
-
Janet actually really rates both of them as well as being adamant that Aiyawatt is doing a great job. Steve just wants us to get behind the lads.
-
Bristol City will be licking their lips. Easiest game of their season. No excuses for them not to win comfortably as Blackburn, Oxford, Charlton, Norwich, Sheffield United and Watford that come to mind have.
-
Not even bothering putting this on to watch. Zero point. Cannot be watching Ayew and Reid again. Pitiful line up and lost faith in Rowett now even as someone who supported his appointment.
-
Why the hell are Mukasa and Daka not in that side! Reid and Ayew FFS. Defeat and all but confirmation of relegation tonight….
-
Can’t be in League 1 if you go bust 🤷♂️
-
Always remember though, the outcry about how it would be punishing the fans to dock points during super league gate….
-
I can’t see it on any ‘legitimate’ sources but also do think it will be true. And what a farce. Who gains from this? It is just trying to put historic clubs out of business…..
-
I see there has been a post from Foxes Trust regarding the results of their survey and promoting the Unite for Change protest coming up. Your mate Julie is featuring prominently on the comments Ian Bason trying to question the legitimacy of the survey results and being put in his place. KPFC admin off the undivided FB page going off on one too…. Just missing Linda from the who’s who of KP loyalists
-
Doubtful, not whilst the defence is shipping twice a game.
-
Best off ignored. We know the type. Won’t have ever attended a game before around 2013 when we were doing well under Pearson and they all came out the woodwork. Will only ever have known KPFC so doesn’t understand Leicester City. Gets to puff her chest out and tell everyone how her team won the PL and FA Cup and how she is a great fan etc etc. Where were all these lot in the games at home to Stevenage and Dagenham in the FA Cup 1st and 2nd rounds in front of cross of around 7000? Where were they when you couldn’t even see the pitch beyond the running track due to the fog at the Don Valley as we went out the JP Trophy to Rotherham? Where were they in the back waters we visited in L1 or when watching the likes of Josh Low try to play football or Kevin Pressman fall on his arse in slow motion as Lonergan’s clearance cleared him! Anyone who has all those memories (and I do) is angry precisely because we do not want that to happen again. Anyone who is KP in now cannot have been there.
-
Most of us were around during the administration/Mandaric and relegation to L1 era. It’s not compatible because we were tanked from a position of strength by Mandaric. We were struggling after administration and starting at L1 when he took over so not investing enough to prevent the slide is different to actively causing the fall we have seen which is what Aiyawatt has done. As for the rest of the post, just very naive in my opinion. There clearly isn’t going to be any change for the better. It is lipstick on a pig/rearranging the deckchairs on the Titanic. Whichever analogy you prefer.

Protest march vs Norwich - Sat 28th Feb 2026
LCFCJohn replied to Dan's topic in Leicester City Forum
Does it matter? Aiyawatt is King Power. Anything else is just paper. And whatever it is, he/they have let the club and the city down badly. -
It’s just getting annoying waiting for it at this point. Just get on with it Ipswich…
-
All just waiting round for the inevitable aren’t we. Definitely losing this now.
-
Oh yeah, I’m not saying it won’t be an utter disaster and unsustainable to the point of insolvency. Just that I’m sure there will be reductions. Problem is even with the reductions it will be impossible to sustain.
-
All correct. And as far as the fan base is concerned, the defenders of the regime are culpable, not those calling for change. It didn’t start off with hate for Aiyawatt and personal attack etc. Due to their refusal to accept there are issues and hold the club/Aiyawatt accountable even without demanding he sell and go, they have allowed this to go un-addressed and escalate to the point of the toxicity we now see.
-
I asked this before and I don’t think anybody answered. But relegation clauses, surely they don’t apply specifically to a relegation from a specially name league to another (so PL to Championship) and rather apply to any relegation during that contract. So if there was a 30% reduction on relegation from the PL to the Championship, surely the revised Championship wage would be subject to a further 30% upon relegation to L1?
-
Sorry but this is clearly not true. There are many many ‘fans’ that are happy with Aiyawatt because he is ‘the family’. Many think he has nothing to do with the decline. They might blame Rudkin but seem oblivious to the fact Rudkin is Aiyawatt/KP.
