West Brom have quite new ownership and have been at this level for a while. They also aren’t in financial shit and based on last night, at least put some effort in. Mason needed to go but I bet they pick up now. But there you go. No actual answer when challenged. Literally it’s the same situation again. Denial at its finest. Some people are able to think for themselves and identify when things aren’t right whilst others just get sucked in and drift along. Strength of mind (or lack of it) and all that.

To be fair, you are synonymous with the flip side of that particular coin . Myself and others too, but you definitely! What did they say when you reminded them that by the way?
-
I feel there is a connection between the fans who saw through Rodgers earlier and those who have done the same with Aiyawatt. And many of the hard core shouting down the former are those shouting down the criticism of the latter now. Almost like people don’t learn…
-
Absolutely bizarre. Is there another fan base where people are actively attacking their own fans (physically and online) so much? I have seen on one of the general FB pages, some fans of other clubs have been asking what is going on. This is refreshing to see over comments like entitled and deluded. Some of our fans have been giving answers and explanations of what has gone wrong and why we are unhappy. I have noticed one particular individual jumping on all these comments, attacking the people and calling them deluded etc etc. They are incapable of reasoned conversation. Sorry, didn’t seem directly about the weather but it is because that is one of the main topics they are piling on. Clearly that wasn’t just down to the weather as it has never caused that level of attendance on a general cold night before.

I’ve seen some of the loyalists patting themselves on the back about their Starmer chant…. I don’t even need to know what the chant was but it says it all. Those angry and boycotting are the problem and don’t understand, and of course don’t back the lads. But going along and sitting on your hands apart from a song about the Prime Minister is supporting the lads and helping the club? Ok…..
-
And it’s not just included in the season ticket as in already paid for.

Just quoting Dannythefox as well as both points relate to the manager. These types of problems seem to have existed under numerous managers. So it can be true that if you had a Dyche type character it might be better (and therefore on Cifuentes to a large extent also) whilst being a problem firmly at Aiyawatt’s door as well. He is choosing the managers and direction of the club. If he wished to instil a tougher, hard working culture in the club, he could do so and appoint managers and staff (such as fitness and conditioning staff) accordingly.
-
To those shouting down the supporters who are critical of the club, this is a much better measure by which to demonstrate the point many of us have than league position. Those defending Aiyawatt and the club think it is only about winning things (constantly banging on about the title win and FA cup) and league position. These metrics here are why this is no longer the Leicester City we all grew up with. Those who can’t see that Aiyawatt is responsible both in his own attitude and physical ability to run this club completely have their heads in the sand. He is entitled and never had to work hard in his life. Everything was handed to him on a plate. Is it any wonder he doesn’t understand effort and work rate, in order to instil a better culture around the club?

Unfortunately, whilst it was definitely a decent number who supported the principle of the boycott, there were also a lot who clearly don’t go because of the weather as the crowd was so low. These people will likely return for the next game. Slightly amusing that people are quick to point out they didn’t go due to the weather rather than supporting the boycott as thought that makes you a better fan as reasons to miss go, whereas it’s literally the definition of fair weather fans!

@PaulW, I notice you went very quiet and never addressed my fair and respectful reply to you on this subject. I have seen those protesting labelled as plastics, part timers and boo boys on various pages. This is as well as the physical violence displayed by the people towards supporters vocalising their dissatisfaction. The fact you are condemning supporters labelling others as happy clappers as arrogant, divisive and unhelpful but will not acknowledge the terms used above that are of a similar vain as well as the points I addressed in the post above makes you a huge hypocrite…
-
What has been said at half time/so far in the second half about it?
-
What an awful corner from Fatawu!
-
Lovely goal that. Great quick play. Why can’t we do that more often?
-
Covid and Middlesbrough snow game aside, emptiest I have seen it since the FA cup early rounds in 2008!
-
Football in a library! Baggies fans Thought we’d be hearing all those real fans!
-
Well done Sky for talking about it And to those who are contributing by deliberately staying away, I.e for that reason.
-
Shhh. Don’t be insensitive to our hard working players by suggesting such activity What will we do if their performance levels drop as a result eh?
-
Watford just being greedy now with Wiley for a second season then jumping on another young left back whilst we are dealing with Thomas! Not impressed @Super_horns
-
I didn’t say that was you. You have been critical of the happy clapper line. Fair enough. You used the terms arrogant, divisive and unhelpful. I’m talking about other people here, not you, but do you not think sneering at those younger fans and lauding it that you (general term not you yourself) have supported for 50+ years like it makes your view more important is arrogant? Is claiming people who are angry at the ownership and state of the club must use only started supporting in 2016 not divisive and unhelpful equally? As I say, it’s not about going to games. Yeah tonight is a bit different at there is a concerted effort to boycott which isn’t for everyone. But generally. But they aren’t the ones that are (generally) being labelled as such. You can attend games and be vocal about the club. You can attend games and make feelings known when we are 3-0 down at half time yet again.
-
Welcome to the forum I guess! Many fans will go who can recognise the issues of course. But there are many many thousands who are blind to just what you have said. Of course, yeah it doesn’t mean everyone who goes ahead and attends tonight that is the case for. Obviously it’s shame the fan base can’t have a more unified effort in forcing positive change for the club but there we go. Everybody is entitled to make their own choices. What do you think is the medicine needed as per your choice of words there? And more importantly, what could encourage the backing of more people? (Excluding those who are blind to the problems and just worship the owner as they are a different story).
-
Probably a better question for the match thread than the boycott thread
-
Two different things for me. 1. Fans who attend, put the club first, will acknowledge the failings and be vocal about this. The goal to be to force change, whether that be ownership or just correct structures in place. Not happy clapper. Concerned supporter who is wanting the best for the club. 2. Fans who attend because it is something to do. Won’t hear a word against Aiyawatt’s running of the club, physically attack those who do and basically put KP first. Also sit and applaud players off regardless even when the spineless lot haven’t turned up yet again and are 3-0/4-0 down at halftime as to make feelings known isn’t ’supporting the lads’. These are the ones who attract this label. It works both ways as these people chuck out things like if you are critical of KP, you must only have supported the club since 2016. Is that not equally unhelpful and divisive to you? Is saying you have supported for 50+ years and know better not arrogant? We must be the only fanbase who have such a majority who think supporting means you can’t question or criticise failings. Do you think Wednesday’s players took it personally when their fans were protesting? Did Coventry or Charlton players think it was aimed at them when their fans were lobbing tennis balls onto the pitch to disturb the game, raising awareness about their owners?
-
Personally I think people refusing to acknowledge failings within the club, worshipping the owner despite said failings, turning aggressive and physically violent towards fans who share an alternate view are the problem to be fair but each to their own…
-
Of course (as both these replies are making the same point). Obviously the boycott is linked to the club being in turmoil or it wouldn’t be happening. My point was simply, that if people are specifically saying they aren’t going due to the fact it is cold or whatever the reason is, if the reason is not the principle of the boycott, you can’t really then accuse the club of using the narrative that it is because of the cold, people back at work/school etc. As that is literally what people are saying is their reason.
