By the way, for those who say there aren’t certain sections of the fanbase who can’t stand seeing academy players doing well, here are some comments from FB simply from a post with a picture of Aluko saying he’ll have a big future… We were playing weak opponents..... Doesn't show case his talent at all. Against better teams and players will be able to judge better, but still don't think he will come good No chance, he is nowhere near close enough to be starting Needs another 5 years on loan before he will be any good No he won't, weak link . Too slow Poor yesterday needs to go out on loan learn a bit more in the lower leagues Yeah! One good game now he's worth 100mil stupid fanboy nonsense I have my doubts. Needs another job other than being a football player for LCFC. Maybe as a Council bin man Looks a bit flimsy but more mobile than fat players. Really🤔 Also someone asking who is he to be fair I mean these are generally the same supporters of course who blindly follow Aiyawatt so not saying their options are worth a damn. But it’s definitely the case even if people want to deny it’s the case.

Genuinely question though, why does he need to be the Ricardo role? We need to start again with our ideas as the last few years have been crap so I don’t think we should put too much focus on trying to replicate roles. Let Aluko be his own player and right back. If he is a stay at home type (like Simpson) let him. If his style is to bomb on and be an overlapping full back great, the winger will get more support. But I think we need to scrap this inverted stuff anyway as it doesn’t work for us. But putting him out of position at left back is not the answer in my own opinion of course.

Yeah I was going to say. It’s not even a natural phrase or anything to use. Even something like an absolute car crash at least sounds in keeping with how people speak even though that could also cause upset to some people. Not sure where that came from!

Yeah, as I say, a loan maybe. But we don’t want to go signing some duffer on a 4/5 year deal in a position we have 2 good talents coming through. There’s also Coulibaly. It’d make more sense to bring him back and share the load with Ricardo if it was a case of getting Aluko a loan. But we don’t really have anything to play for now this season (unless a points deduction does come and puts us in trouble) so I’d just give Aluko regular rotation with Ricardo to be fair. With the view to being first choice next season hopefully. -

That would likely also suit Page I would think. With what we have, Monga/Mav - Daka? - Fatawu Page - Skipp - James New striker needed of course. If we could actually sort the defence out, that with a new striker has to be pretty good at that level. -

Maybe if you could loan someone to essentially cover Aluko going on loan to get more experience but otherwise it seems a waste of a position to put any (limited if existent at all) funds towards permanently given we do have Aluko and even Joseph waiting in the wings. Striker and left back are much more important. -
Thing is, he was at this level for Sheffield United before the injury last season. They had the best defensive record, were flying high and absolutely loved him. I watch a number of their games as well (interest due to being in Sheffield) and he’s actually pretty quick across the ground. There’s two types of fast/slow. Reflexes and turning circle so to speak and pure speed across the ground. He’s probably slow on the former but not on the latter. A bit like Morgan was. Didn’t he actually rank highly for pace purely in sprinting? That’s not to say he fixes our problems, firstly because of the injury and secondly because our problems are much deeper rooted than one player can fix. But if you could put the Souttar than Sheff Utd had last season in, that’s an improvement on Faes/Vestergaard/Okoli.

Probably something about childhood Man Utd fan or born in Nottingham, not one our own own blah blah
-
Yeah but what was really the reason for the low crowd. The boycott or Corriedale? Nobody will ever know. One of life’s mysteries…
-
No doubt at some point in the coming weeks/months Pep will mean about the number of games, tired squad etc etc. He didn’t need to do that today. He didn’t need to go out to humiliate them 10-1. If he doesn’t whinge about games later in the season, ok, fair enough.

This implies that the decision makers even care about things like rivalries. They will just see them as top of the league and he’ll get away with a defeat. Particularly on the back of 2 wins as again, they won’t have a club how we are playing as Aiyawatt is clearly not even bothered to watch us. -
I mean the senior players are showing themselves to be incapable and out of their depth in the Championship so yeah… But I think the people who are championing developing the youth are the exact opposite to thinking they will waltz the league. It’s about the long term strategy and future of the club. Unless you think giving the kids more minutes is going to result in us being relegated, you essentially have the choice of playing senior players who have no value and who don’t want to be here and being in the Championship next season or developing youth, first team players for coming seasons and/or sales to help financially and being in the Championship next season. The younger lads have shown a lot more than the senior lot when given a chance.

Cheltenham Town F.A Cup 3rd round match thread
LCFCJohn replied to lanefox's topic in Leicester City Forum
I can’t not want us to win any match. Unfortunately Marti is just out his depth and despite the complete shambles above him, and the problems with the playing side, I do think that other managers could be getting better performances. What we are seeing is just spineless and dull. The stats shown on Monday about sprints and distance covered summarise it. A lack of quality is forgivable but a lack of caring and effort isn’t. So yes a win is good but it just means we have to accept this bumbling along inconsistency for longer whilst he is here. It’s why the best we can hope for is mid table this season. -
But maybe he wouldn’t have been murdered if that conversation hadn’t happened is the point? It was an opportunity to pile pressure on Ross. Given they often don’t have much to go on (and that was early on) it was at least something tangible to go on. I think I respect Jessie for at least sticking with her theory rather than just following the crowd though. We noticed that often, someone is talked about at the start of the round table and then others after and they seem to forget and go with the most recent person interrogated. Definitely herd mentality and recency bias in terms of the conversations around the table.
-
The one who has it most sussed is Jessie, not the ex cops or barristers. She has not been sucked in my herd mentality and stuck with the library theory which is bang on. Problem is now she will close that theory rather than keeping suspicions over Steven probably. As others have said, the last couple of nights have been fun. Will be interesting to see what they do with Matt’s request to join them. They will likely need to recruit at some point but the idea floated above about killing Jessie and then Matt on the night he’d be expecting to be recruited would be great tv!

Wasn’t aimed at you as you are a big backer of the youth players. More than when KDH was smashing it, those who clearly can’t stand seeing youth players do well ran out of on the pitch ways to pull him apart (whereas for Thomas there are plenty) and started using things like born at QMC in Nottingham and allegedly a Man Utd fans as a young kid to bash him.
-
I saw that being used as a justification by people on FB pages as to playing down the boycott…along with the weather and back to work/school excuses. Literally, go with the boycott. Far less embarrassing for the fan base than it being Corriedale
-
They have smashed it commercially. Something we failed to do. Their USP was the owners and they hired the best people at where they were at the time (Shawn Harvey and that Fleur whose dad owns Burton I think) and used their connections to maximise sponsorships which large companies like United Airlines and of course the Disney+ documentary. They were spending more as they were making more than their competitors but like you say, good decisions along the way. I thought they were going to fall away when they wasted money on Ward and Coady but they carry on. That is the first sign of trouble though and they will not get away with making to many like that.
-
Here we go! This is how KDH was deemed not one of our own by fans once they ran out of other reasons to have a dig
-
I agree it’s worrying. Very worrying the dishonesty the club will show in communication of such false figures…
-
As an actually defender, he is the best on our books (along with Nelson). Problem being he’s a crock. We massively overpaid and that along with the injuries and the fact that we just like defending here anymore makes it a bad signing.
-
Definitely Blackburn as well.
-
Easy is good, but as someone else said, it is noticeable in the context of what people might normally be wearing? It’d definitely be good if something could encourage more people like a walk to the ground yeah. Change won’t happen overnight but as a fanbase we just need to be proactive.
-
I think that is why the Man Utd coloured scarves probably work better as they stand out over clothing. On the point of being original, it does seem there is only a finite number of things that fans can do and they will all have been done by a group of fans somewhere before. If anything, looking at what is effective is a positive surely? I think basically, being original is the least of our worries. The key points are needing to be what is effective and what is inclusive. It does see from some of the interesting inputs by a couple of posters above that certain things are not including certain groups of supporters to participate who are also unhappy with the ownership. If you are a fan of the mindset that we need something to change, and are unhappy, the only people who are ultimately a problem are those who will literally not accept there are any problems and worship the ground Aiyawatt walks on. These people will remain divided and it is hard to see otherwise. The key is how the rest of the fan base can come together.
-
You can’t control them. Fan bases can put pressure on though. I think Wednesday felt similar earlier on with Chansiri but eventually, enough of them came together to make his position untenable. The issue is, Aiyawatt and Rudkin are still getting (overall) an easy ride from our fanbase. But, I do think it’s important to tailor actions to reach supporters like yourself then. Clearly many are put off by chanting that crosses a line or just use poor language which is fair. If more people would feel included by alternative measures it should be taken seriously (like the sit in). You did also mentioned a march through the city. Obviously this was what Project Reset did earlier in 2025 and into a few seems to support it. Perhaps more would now given things have continued to get worse…
