  1. Where’s the evidence of that?
  2. Well yes, as I said, financial he is just fine. But he seems a guy who struggles with the mental side and confidence so is money everything? I am just saying from a footballing point of view, he needed a fresh start.
  3. Obviously I know why he signed the new contract. Even if it was a wage reduction for longer term security as often the case with contracts, it is still money to set him for life. For footballing reasons, why would he do it? He can’t be happy. He can’t enjoy life. He won’t succeed he now. I feel for him as I think he was set up to fail with the timing he broke through and his development was handled horribly. Yes he could have done more to self improve but ultimately, we are now at a point where he is hated. It’d have been less money but he could have left and rebuilt himself somewhere new.
  4. I liked the ‘LCFC, Rotten from Top to Bottom’ that was suggested before. It plays on the ‘Top’ part. But importantly, as those who criticise those wanting to take action don’t seem to get, it is not about being relegated or not winning week in week out. This is about the culture of the club and how disconnected everything is, the financial misconduct, stupid contracts to mercenary players, lack of direction and standards. Summed in with ‘rotten’.
  5. To be fair, it was meant as a simplistic point. The defence of KP has been around the achievements under their ownership and the ‘we were in L1 once BS argument’. The first is living in the past and is ok when things are going well but is not ok as a deflection or reason not to take criticism when being incompetent and destroying what those before build, where Vichai or Nigel. The second is interesting as it has been used, in my view, as a justification, that whilst we are higher in the pyramid, it’s ok. Now in fairness, maybe we should see where we are at the end of the season. However, I think it looks increasingly unlikely we won’t match the 5th place finish before they took over as we are getting worse not better! Regarding what has happened, death is horrible and what happened particularly so. But people suffer horrible loss and go on to do great things to make their departed proud. He was also no child. He was a mid 30’s grown up man. I disagree this would have been different had he had a few more years with Vichai. I think it is simply the case he is a nepo baby. I don’t mean this as an insult but in the official meaning. He had everything handed to him but was clearly never of the right character to carry that on. I agree with what you say though. I am very angry at KP and Aiyawatt for what they have done to this club in recent years in terms of the decline of the culture of the club. This is not about league position or relegation, but about the way supporters are treated and the squad of mercenaries as well as the financial mismanagement. I hope though that this is a balanced way of sharing those concerns.
  6. So you think stick with Cifuentes or it’s King in the job?
  7. Problem is, we could go down to L1 and so many people, including some on here who I won’t name, will still be defending Aiyawatt. The irony being, those people probably laugh at Forest for living in the past but defend and support the decline of our club, justifying it with past achievements.
  8. Yeah, I mean Aiyawatt isn’t going to give up on his pathetic vision of playing like Man City so rather than going down a different route, it will 100% be someone like Martin if we do make the switch.
  9. The problem is, it would just be someone like Russel bloody Martin and we’d be just as bad. The club is on the slide, the owner and DoF are responsible and whilst they are making decisions and persisting with the way of playing, we will fail. I have never really agreed with those saying it, and of course it could never be the same without Shakey. But if he was well enough, I would take Pearson. We need someone who understands this club, and how to build a club back up. As bad as it is, we still have the opportunity to rebuild with a lot of contracts up next summer and others the year after. Mainly just Skipp and Thomas (due to the new contract) of the ones we want out who will be left. Maybe VK as well? And the academy doing well. There is the opportunity to turn it round if we want to.
  10. KP took over in August 2010 when we had just finished 5th in the Championship and missed the play off final on penalties. Either way, under Pearson, we were in safe hands, had a solid squad and were looking up, likely would have pushed for promotion the following season. Even the most ardent KP lovers must be able to open their eyes and see we are officially now in a worse position than when they took over. Yes, you can’t put a price on the trophies they were part of. And part of, they didn’t ’win them for us as many claim’. But the health of the club, direction and trajectory are in a worse position than when they came. This is more like 2004/05 now.
  11. I get you. But it sounded like you were saying he bounces round clubs for that reason but I don’t think that’s the case. He spend decent time and achieved well at Wolves and Forest. Spurs was a step up and opportunity at a higher level (expectations and exposure wise). It didn’t work obviously. West Ham is still a big club. It doesn’t mean he doesn’t back himself. He can probably see Moyes did well and despite them banging on about the ‘West Ham way’, they are better off trying for a Moyes/Nuno type route. My comment about pay out was purely about it’s not a bad situation to be in if it doesn’t work out. And his reputation should survive a poor stint there as well. We don’t really know what he is thinking anyway. But I agree the general point about money and agents definitely.
  12. Thomas off Faes on
  13. Dropped Faes after the amount of errors he has made so he might do.
  14. I only mean hypocrisy in complaining about people criticising though still giving the club money whilst claiming anyone who has stopped isn’t a really fan. People on both sides of the ownership argument are true, loyal fans. I think to get pissed off and passionate enough to not be able to go shows that. Whereas we know we have a lot of attending people on match days who are very apathetic and just go out of habit. I think if people say they don’t care they are saying so as a reactionary thing as being on here and ranting about the running of the club shows you care. But yes in a long, roundabout way, I do agree with what you have said there so I would not refer to that explanation as hypocritical. The Sheffield Wednesday thing, again, it is not about us being like them now. It is them being not like this 2 years ago and decending into the mess they are in the past year. Personally I just see some similarities with Chasiri and Aiyawatt but yeah, may be a cultural stereotype but the thin skinned and fragile ego seem similar. And with KP struggling, I don’t think you can rule it out. But that’s not the same as saying it will definitely happen. I just think we need to be ready for anything.
  15. Why would anyone want the club to suffer? Maybe people are just fed up of spending hard earned money to fund an owner and players wages who don’t give a damn. With costs going up, people have to make these choices. As for the Sheff Weds comparisons. Nobody is saying we are there now obviously. You are completely missing the point. They were at this point a couple of years ago and it has unravelled further. The point being made is, there are similarities in some aspects to it’d be naive to think that couldn’t happen to us in the coming years. Not to say it definitely will be it could. And FYI, nobody who doesn’t give a toss about the club likely uses a forum like this. We all post on here because we care. I see both arguments but to claim people who have stopped wanting to give the club their money don’t give a toss is no different to what you are complaining about which is quite hypocritical.
  16. He didn’t have a bad 45 minutes against Huddersfield though so it’s ok
  17. Both things that have been considered. We don’t really want to go to the boundary at all. If say next door were to do the same, we would end up adjoined which we don’t want. I know it’s hypothetical but it is something we are looking to avoid if at all possible. Bin wise, we don’t really want them on the back due to space anyway. We would rather have the garden without them. The idea of in the garage bit I mentioned but my wife was concerned about keeping bins in an essentially indoor area. It is an option. The other option is having a specific bin storage area on the front, between us and the neighbours but on that side, it’s drive to drive rather than garden so we’d need to see whether it could be done without causing problems for them. I think it’s one of the main questions for the architect.
  18. Just wondering what the good people of FoxesTalk can share in terms of knowledge around house extensions. We have talked about it for years and are now pressing ahead. There was a debate about moving but we like where we are and it’s a more cost effective way of getting the bigger house we are after. We are talking about a pretty simple 2 storey, side extension as the layout of the house lends itself very well to this. The first thing we have discussed is that the space is about 8ft, just over. We don’t want to go to the boundary as we want the ability to have access to the rear and possibly bring the bins up and down. Downstairs should be fine as it is a bigger kitchen area at the back, utility space, bathroom and shallow garage storage space at the front which won’t be a problem. Upstairs requires more consideration about the use of space. The current small room is on that side at the front. If the upstairs has to be set back slightly, it’s a case of whether to bring that room wider with the set back consideration and annoying box thing from the stairs, or just have the new space as a further room but it would be quite a long and thin one. I imagine this is quite a normal consideration so wondering if anyone has had a similar experience? We have the architect coming next week. Most around here (Sheffield) seem to be big organisations so we have found a small, local father and son team who specialise in private home extensions which seems more suitable. Builders wise, I have had three come round and spoken to them. Two are Checkatrade listed. The one who isn’t, was far more expensive and ruled out straight away. Of the other two, my preference is one based on how detailed the quote was, very itemised which I preferred. Honestly I wasn’t sure what else to go on. Both prices were reasonable, both had good write ups and I personally got a good feeling for both. I think I have a good grasp on the process. The next step being the architect coming and us putting the ideas into official plans (not the unofficial ones I drew up for the builders). I am just wondering if anyone has experience of a similar build where it comes to maximising space, particularly upstairs.
  19. Na he will be fine. I didn’t realise he had had a short spell in Saudi between Spurs and Forest to be fair but otherwise; Wolves was there for a while and well thought of. Big move to Spurs but bigger name managers such as Conte and Mourinho have failed there since they were decent under Pochetinho. Forest, did well with them and is well thought of. Was more their crackpot owner who was the issue. And now at West Ham who are a shambles. Worst case he gets a nice pay out and has a good reputation for middle table types jobs intact.
  20. That winning goal for Preston last night was so old school and I love it! Winger beats his man, left footed cross from the left (how it used to use), and bang, powerful header. Simple but effective. But not as effective as Vestergaard and Faes playing better themselves clearly.
  21. That has 1-1 written all over it like Wrexham and Pompey reserves.
  22. Where’s this about the expansion coming from? Surely that’s dead in the water as we can’t fill the ground now. The time we needed more was during the era that has now passed and won’t be coming back.
  23. It could well. Our owner unfortunately shares a lot of personality traits with Chansiri as well as cultural values obviously. Thin skinned, fragile ego etc. That with the KP business struggling and money drying up and the decline we are on, I am surprised anybody can rule out things tuning that way.
  24. It would just be great to have some Stevie Howard vs Leeds moments wouldn’t it. One of my favourite goals just in terms of the timing and what it meant.
  25. Seems like Wednesday fans are of the view they will take this if it is finally the end of Chansiri! Does anyone with more understanding know what this means in reality? Obviously they will drop down a league or even 2. But if there is a buyer, presumably he is forced to relinquish the club now and it won’t mean they cease to exist?
