Fulham v Leicester - Pre-match thread (August 24th)

Same team as against Spurs. Skipp on for Buonanotte later in the game if we get a lead and Stephy on when Vardy slows up. -
Was an assist to the assist but Demarai Gray's run vs Everton was special Albrighton's got a catalogue
-
Horses for courses. Enzo's football probably better for being one of the better sides in the league, Cooper's tactics the other night better suited for our current predicament. Hopefully we retain the ball a bit better against sides in the bottom half of the league, though. But it was good to see us look a threat on the break in the second half.

Palace are going to be crap this season, Guehi and Anderson will both need replacing and surely means Eze will push for a move late in the window now. Olise, Guehi, Anderson and Eze all in one window. Wow.

Wes Morgan vs Southampton or United, or Albrighton vs Sevilla. "They really are starting to think that it is their destiny" "Leicester hit back... like champions"

Kristensen looks twice the player he was in 22/23 -
His performance against Chelsea in the cup suggests otherwise.
-
Would you rather have Liam Delap for £20m or Oliver Skipp? I know who I’m happier with.
-
Winks passing, Skipp destroying and Hatate ball carrying?
-
He would have been perfect if Maresca had stayed as the left-sided player in defence.
-
Cooper wouldn't walk, this is his ticket to success. If he keeps us up he will be praised for doing an amazing job, if we go down then it will be put down as points deduction/lack of spending power.
-
Potential number 1? Imagine if Cooper benches Ricardo and Mads
-
-
Manager, yes, squad, absolutely no. Have you actually seen their listed players?
-
Sheffield United had team spirit when they got promoted. Hutchinson and Greaves aren't bad signings, but they overpaid for Liam Delap, who I wouldn't have over any of our forwards, and Conor Townsend and Ben Johnson aren't going to keep them up. Ben Johnson is basically to West Ham what Luke Thomas is to us, and Conor Townsend (whilst he'll only be back-up to Davis) is honking. WBA fans couldn't believe he got a Prem move. Would you seriously be excited by Broja or Phillips? Broja isn't better than Vardy, nor Daka, and Phillips would be pointless for us with Wilf and Winks. Our squad is better than theirs is - they will really struggle against established Premier League sides.
-
Broja and Phillips are the typical signings that you see a club make when they go up that get you relegated. Big names that their clubs don't want because they haven't performed for 18-24 months.

Can't wait to see Ipswich get ruined this season. They were crap in both games against us.

I agree - We need some composure at the back. Im sure Okoli is the succession signing to Faes because he’ll be off end of the season, rather than Okoli a starter for this one. -
I’d understand this if we didn’t get Buonanotte in on loan - they both mainly perform in the same metrics. If this is true, This just screams of us panicking as one of the other two signings out of Zaha and Fotis has failed. Hopefully we at least get one of the two plus Ayew at minimum if that is the case.
-
I think Nuno first sacking. Not even just a Forest thing against them, but the way they do their business, and they were hardly impressive under him after he was appointed last season. Think even if Cooper gets off to a bad start with us we are patient with managers, sometimes too much. Maresca will cost too much money for Chelsea to sack too early, and I think they might have a good season tbh.
-
I agree with all of that but think Brentford will struggle more than what you think. if Toney leaves, and with Igor Thiago's injury, I'm not sure Mbeumo and Wissa is enough at that end of the pitch. Also their starting midfield hasn't changed from promotion, and every time Jensen is out they really struggle.
