Great memories! Kasper, Huth, Wasyl , Wes and Cambiasso all great players with outstanding grit and fighting qualities. Sprinkle a little bit of Mahrez magic…. Even the the players on the bench that day would improve today’s starting 11

A proper bloke and a true leader on and off the pitch!

In our current predicament I would go for Dyche. When he went into Everton having taken over from Fat Frank he couldn’t believe how unfit the players were! He got them fit and organised and made them hard to play against, working with what he had. He wouldn’t stand for our defenders watching the ball either bounce in front of them or sail over their heads that’s for sure. I know that Everton fans were thankful for his tenure during their desperate times. Exactly where we are now! He’s handed the baton over to Moyes with the team fit and organised. Now they are flying. We need one more point than the team occupying 18th. Thats what we need and he achieved that on several occasions with both Burnley and Everton.

He is the wrong fit for our club! Too many wrong fits appointed but occasionally we have struck gold with the likes of Brian Little, Martin O’Neil, Nigel Pearson and Claudio Ranieri. All had great leadership qualities!
-
Add to that no leadership amongst the playing group. Too many sulky tarts!

McClintock era was awful but similar in that we had journeymen & mercenary players that took us down before Jock took us back up by playing the likes of Linekar, Peake and Buchanon. Hamilton and Pleat was awful again before Brian Little saved us. Peter Taylor again ruined a hard working and tight knitted bunch of players built up by Martin O’Neill. What followed was worse than this, those wilderness years before that half wit Holloway came in and took us to league 1. Pinning your hopes on Ian Humeand Zsolt Laczko! What makes this even worse than all of that is that we have sound financial backing unlike those days and still they can’t get it right! Treating fans like we are rocking up at your duty free franchise shop at Phuket airport will not do Top!

Never pick him in the first team squad again. One of the worst players to ever play for us. As I’ve said before, best suited to the playground, his off the ball work is awful he doesn’t track runners or get goalside. Plus his on the ball work is ponderous and quite often plays other players a hospital pass!

Unfortunately I think it’s time to get rid. Two terrible appointments one after another. Corberan was a missed opportunity, look what he is now doing at Valencia and trying his best to save their season. Also spunking £20 million plus on Skipp, madness!
-
Thats the problem 100%. They see the Trust as being an arm of the club and as such won’t hold the club to account at all. Unfortunately they aren’t and won’t let themselves become anything other than this. They are the epitome of Magnolia paint! A direct action Ultra group they are not! I remember seeing the head of a German group (maybe Monchengladbach) chastising their first team in a face to face meeting on YouTube following a spineless home performance! That’s what is needed.

Same here, communication is everything and makes for strong leadership! Not sharing the content and releasing a bland statement is wet and stinks of cronyism .If you don’t share and engage people will fill the void with their own narrative and nothing will change. No leadership ar the Foxestrust, in the boardroom or on the pitch.

Google reckons 60 to 70% of family businesses that are passed from parents to children fail and do not last a generation. It cites Lack of preparedness, Family dynamics, Poor succession planning and a resistance to change! Sound Familiar? I hope Top listens and acts, whether it is to restructure and implement what the likes of Enzo were suggesting by adding an experienced Sporting Director or walk away and sell. Good luck to all those planning on attending the Protest on Saturday but I am away on holiday so can’t make it but my son will be there!

How long have we been on a downward trajectory?

When we won the league! Unfortunately we had no plan after winning it and invested in the wrong players and wrong type of players and started inflating contracts coupled with not having a plan for bring youth players through to the first team and still don’t! We have wasted most of the player sales on sustaining bang average players inflated contracts. A good example could have been the progression of Calvin Bassey who is doing well at Fulham. Loaning Ben Nelson this season instead of playing him after he did well when called upon last year in the Championship another example of not using what we have! -
A good way of highlighting the issue through the media is the co-ordinated tennis ball protest! Where disgruntled fans have all thrown tennis balls onto the pitch at the same time. Recent cases at Blackburn, and Reading where owners have lost touch with fans and Dortmund and Ligue 1 where they weee protesting against private investment in football ball clubs and. In France TV companies and the League prioritising Tv deals over kick off times! Just imagine if it did happen and Arteta was asked about it? He would claim to not have seen anything!

I reckon we will dig in and nick a point! I do wonder whether RVN should have stuck with Stolarcyk in goal especially after his display at Spurs.
-
Don’t forget he played at the Emirates earlier in the season and wasn’t terrible. I like his defend first mentality and the fact he has more pace that the other options.

I think like in any business you need a reset. Being owned by KP means that we are financially stable. I’m currently in Thailand and now there is no pandemic their business wealth is only going to grow. So our back stop is sound! What we need is a skilled visionary to work at Chief Executive level and appoint the right people with footballing knowledge who can navigate their way through the current PSR rules given the tools that we have, for example promote the youth talent to first team, develop them and sell them at a profit whilst building a hungry squad of players.

Prem Officiating Abomination Journal 24/25

The current offside rules are incapable of being handled by incompetent/amateur officials who are up against Grade A professional cheats who are pushing the boundaries of what is active and inactive in terms of offside! I much preferred the back line being able to push up and catch everyone offside, even the half asleep winger! if he doesn’t flag that last night then he needs sacking from officiating again until they attend a refresher course! Of course INEOS, Brailsford and Ratcliffe aren’t know for cheating or pulling a fast one with the public are they? -
Even more so now that.Sky are so invested in the so called big 6
-
Football needs to go back to the old offside rule, then there would be none of this is he active or not nonsense. Anyone to the left of that black line is offside end of!

Reminds me of the ‘Managers Son’ who would always get picked in your kids team. Skippy, lovely lad, trains hard and doesn’t swear!

Season Ticket / Membership renewals for 25/26

Therin lies the problem, as a Football fan we have all been forced into attending matches at ridiculous kick off times as every club is beholden to the Sky money and advertising that comes with it! -
Play him whilst we are in still in the Prem and if you use Nwaneri as an example he then becomes a £30 million saleable asset. Isn’t that the business model that the club should be striving for with the investment at Seagrave?
-
I would say keep but the problem is deep rooted with Glover, Rudkin, Whelan and Top. He gets no public or vocal support and has been fitted into our shambles of a set up. Any decision making appears to be like steering the Queen Mary through the Channel. With maybe the worst communication with the fans that I have seen. Although look at Kompany, won the Championship at a canter, got relegated sticking to his footballing philosophy and blagged a top job. So he will be ok if he gets the sack! I do fear for us this time for an immediate bounce back as we will do well to stumble on another Enzo and could end up with Brussel or Dyche.

Season Ticket holder and Travel up from Leighton Buzzard with my son and sometimes pick my Father in Law up en route from Rushden or my other son in Market Harborough when he can’t make it. Been going since the late 70’s.
