I haven't seen us linked with Lucas Andersen, even if it seems a very obvious story with him having been at AaB when Cifuentes was there and Cifuentes bringing him to QPR. His contract has expired and he's now training back in Aalborg but has denied he will return to AaB. We need some cover in attacking midfield and even though he's not young, he can do a job for us - especially on a free.

No. I sincerely hope that Trump ****s up things so much that we don't see his ilk for decades. We will never see progress, of any kind really, with people like him in charge. He's a destroyer and you can argue that in extreme cases those are needed for a 'shake up', but his job was done long ago. Every day he stays in power is a day human society gets set back further.

I wouldn't be surprised if Spurs are looking at a new goalie. Hermansen would be an upgrade on all their goalies imo. With Frank there, I would think an easy link could be made, like with Ankergreen/West Ham. Hermansen was a youth player at Brøndby when Frank was coach there after all.

Got Oxygen Not Included on sale and it's quite fun. Although it does almost require an engineering degree! Has lots of similarities to Rimworld, which is only a good thing.
-
I also want to commend Ndidi's willingness and adaptability to make those runs into the channels under Maresca. It was laughable and odd at first, but it turned into a very useful tactic/move. Unlike Kristiansen who (understandably maybe) didn't want to adapt.

Isaac Hayden released by Newcastle. Is he too injury prone now and has he lost too much ability? Obviously should only be considered as backup/rotation and only if Hamza and/or Ndidi leave.

Players you disliked, but reluctantly rated...

Surprised no-one's mentioned Kermorgant yet. He was decent. On a serious note, Simpson is a great shout. There are a few examples of players who've messed up off the pitch like Hamza, Collymore, W. Brown. Neil Lennon is a player I never took to and I've found him dislikeable since he went to Celtic, but he was obviously a great player for us. -
It's difficult to compare Schmeichel in his last years with Mads in his one PL season due to their respective contexts. I think Hermansen's ceiling is higher, without doubt, and he must have outperformed Schmeichel in a number of metrics during the half season prior to his injury. But I'm not trying to make a parallel comparison here, all I'm saying is that Hermansen is a PL-ready goalkeeper and I don't believe Stolarczyk will ever be. So if we sell Hermansen, then goalkeeper's another piece we have to find and upgrade to get back and stay in the PL. Selling off our few wanted and prized assets will only make it harder for us to return to the PL. Maybe it's a sacrifice that needs to be made, only the club will really know, but I'd rather take a PSR hit in the short term than risk our medium-to-long term ambitions.
-
I don't disagree and accept the necessity of selling and that Hermansen, BEK and Monga are our leading assets (add Fatawu once he's fit). But like when Schmeichel left, I think he will leave a bigger hole than any of the other players. If we have ambitions of pushing for promotion this season, then we have to keep players like Mads. If and when he does leave this season, it feels obvious that getting a new goalkeeping talent is a scouting priority for next summer at latest and accept mediocrity. All I ask is that we time it so that we get the least PSR penalty in the long run.

Vardy ~ 200k? Ward ~ 50k? Iversen ~ 25k? Coady ~ 80k? That's around 350k a week I reckon.
-
Exactly. Both him and Ward obviously have something about them. We just very rarely got to see it, so we're better off without them in our squad. ...is the diplomatic way of saying he was really $hite and overpaid.
-
I'll go against the grain here and suggest that we must do all we can to make him stay. A player of his quality and in that position is easily worth 8-10 more points than e.g. Stolarczyk at this level, probably more. I would even argue he's more valuable to us than BEK or Fatawu. It might be a necessary step backwards, but one I'd be most reluctant to take. If we can get a similarly talented replacement within a year, then fine, but Stolarczyk is not promotion level, IMO.

Halellujah! We've sold one! Good riddance. A poor signing who will quickly be forgotten I Imagine.
-
Would you have fancied your chances then?

According to BBC, Henrik Pedersen will take charge. The man affectionately known as "Tømrer" (dan. carpenter). Maybe the owner think he's the second coming of Jesus

Such a shame what the franchise has come to. D1/D2 still rank high among my all time favourites. Just started Oxygen Not Included. Steep learning curve with lots of trial and error, very reminiscent of Rimworld (I see a new DLC has come out, may need to give it a go), but it's enjoyable so far - and I Imagine it'll be days or weeks before I even reach the endgame.
-
What am I reading? it has a tinge of the Ward > Schmeichel calls a few years ago.
-
Decent win. Nelson looking good, confidence boost for Daka.
-
He still created the second goal from nothing.
-
Poor and needless from BEK to lose the ball there.
-
great goal! Actually an excellent finish by Daka to be fair. BEK with a couple of class touches.

The crazy thing is that if you took out Pogacar, people would be complaining that Vingegaard would be too dominant. Both of them are miles beyond the next best riders, but ever since Vingegaard's last Tour win, there really has been no-one close to Pogacar - he's basically a favourite in ANY cycling race, which is pretty mind-blowing. The fact Pogacar is second in the green jersey standings says a lot!
-
Vingegaard himself is better than all others barring Pogacar. Which just proves the insane level Pogacar is at. That first year where Pogacar did the impossible and beat Roglic (the TT specialist) to the yellow jersey in a one on one duel was an omen of things to come.
-
We can safely say it hasn't! What a beast he is. Attacking on Hautacam with 11km to go smells of someone who knows he's far better than anyone else.
-
Because he rode for his teammate? Yeah, that's very commendable for sure. Almost pulled it off, but it would've been lucky if he had. If it had been an unknown rider trying to make a mark, then I would've been impressed, but being an extraordinary rider like MvdP, I would've maybe expected him and Rickaerts to complete the triumph with the incredible gap they got from a very passive bunch. But it was a bit of a suicidal attempt.
