QPR (H) - FA Cup 3rd Round (11th Jan, 2pm)
rugbyblue replied to StanSP's topic in Leicester City Forum
Yes. You can forward the email containing the ticket to somebody else but they will ONLY be able to add it to their wallet if it hasn't already been downloaded by you. -
I tend to agree. Rightly or wrongly, back in the day it was the lairy lads, some of whom would maybe be hooligans, who fronted up to visiting supporters and were very vocal, who created a lot of the noise, especially the derogatory banter type exchanges with opposition supporters. Now im not saying everyone who wants to make noise is or was a hooligan but as young lads, a lot of us certainly followed these guys and wanted to join in with the songs and chants, if not the trouble. I know i behaved a bit worse than i would do in everyday life (not that im proud of it), it was just how it was. All that said, a lot of young lads cant get to go as groups now, with the hurdles like restricted ages, lack of seats together, memberships and silly pricing. That's a shame because if they did get to go as groups these days, they would have a far more respectable and better behaved group (who actually care about the game rather than the opposition supporters) in UFS, leading the chants/atmosphere than we ever did. I dont have the answers but there are a number of reasons why its not as good as it was and i think the lack of confrontation and trying to outdo the opoosition supporters does play a part in that to an extent. That said, i am glad that it is safe for my daughter to attend these days so swings and roundabouts and all that.

They just don't "get it". Id hazard a guess its the same with a lot of owners, along with a lot of the people who run the football league/FA. I imagine for a lot of these people, their idea of entertainment is sipping champers at a society event, going to the theatre or VIP area at ascot, fully catered executive boxes when they watch a "ball game". They simply dont understand why a bunch of "common" lads/blokes and women these days, want to escape for a few hours, let themselves go a bit, sink a few pints and shout a few sweary songs with their mates, light the odd pyro and stand up when they could sit down. Different world.

Living in the Past and The Impact on Today
rugbyblue replied to MattFox's topic in Leicester City Forum
Totally agree. Great achievement, yes,......but its gone. Im proud we achieved it but lets be honest it doesnt mean sh*t today and I've seen it a thousand times. I find it a bit cringey myself and dont join in with the mass w*nk off about something that happened ten years ago. -
My cousin reckoned she liked the attention 😂
-
At least we've moved on from singing get your t*ts out for the lads to the programme seller at filbert street as she walked past the kop. She was about 70 years old 🤣

We concede regularly in this division anyway regardless . Have a go at the opposition with our best attacking players -

The cnut loves ayew. Fck off. In what world does he start ahead of buanotte. -
Yes its well priced, i agree. Good chance for youngsters and first timers to attend. My old mum interested in going for the first time since she took us in the East stand as kids at filbo. Her words ...."i want to see the new ground before i pop off". Bless her. Not that new anymore mum. Quite surprised at the slow uptake to be honest, unless people will make a late decision to go, next week.

Genuine question... What are the demographics they dont want? My own assumption is that it can only be "rowdy" guys in 20s, who go in groups, from working class areas (who traditionally generated atmosphere at the ground) and young people who are not flush with disposable cash ?
-
Agreed . Trust me...they care. I have the misfortune of working with a forest fan, a leeds fan and a notts county fan. Notts county fan is actually quite reasonable and will give city credit, hold a sensible conversation etc....but the other two......delusional. Forest being 3rd is a greater achievement than our last decade due to them rising from the depths and dont forget they won a European cup before he left his dad's testes. Tell me about 1980 again....please. You dont tell that story nearly enough. As for the leeds fan, we fluked the prem and fluked the championship last season apparently. They were by far the best team. Ive tried explaining you dont get lucky over 38 or 46 games but it wont sink in!!.

I actually read this after stating I stop reading after seeing the term xg 😂 From hard cruel experience i can confirm if the word gash is used, you are getting nothing except a look of disgust (you all know the one) and a day of one word answers . 😂

Given up hope now. He's had enough chances over a long enough period. It isn't going to happen here for him

I hate these long running sequences of defeats for the opposition.....there's a pessimistic git inside me (too easy lads, don't bother 😂) saying the run has to come to an end the longer it goes on. I was the same last season when we strung a number of wins together.....always thinking "it must come to an end today " But away from that, there really hasnt been a better time to play these over the past few years. They are very fragile. We need to get at them from the off. Set about them. No patient, defensive tactics. Some may disagree but id rather we lost whilst having a go and trying to win rather than lose by setting up for a point. And who knows....stranger things have happened than a leicester win
-
Not sure if its me showing my age but as soon as i see or hear the term xg i immediately stop reading the post and move onto the next or change the channel/station. Same goes for the pointless stats .....that's the first time hes has scored at home, with his red underpants on when the opposition have hit the bar twice in the first 20 mins. Fck off. Yeah its age 😂

Absolutely total complete utter dog shit to be exact. Rare i hate on individual players but i never want this useless waste of space anywhere near a city shirt again. Ive felt like that for a while. Whenever he starts i lose enthusiasm for the game. I said last night, he will cause Liverpool defence exactly zero problems. Which is exactly how it went, and how it usually goes.

Settle a Centre Back Argument For Me
rugbyblue replied to Manwell Pablo's topic in Leicester City Forum
Id have to leave macguire out. Probably better technically than walsh and elliot (arguably) but walshy bleeds blue and would give everything for the cause. Handy to stick up front when needed too. Elliot had a big presence and probably quicker than macguire so gets my vote. Huth....prem winner. Enough said -
Still an upgrade on coventry......in film/ tv terms, a mix of trainspotting, shameless and stig of the dump (for those old enough).....although stig had a better vocabulary. As for the football, even as an optimist i fear that we are getting spanked there. 6 or 7 is quite possible
-
Agreed with Leeds . I couldn't get a ticket for leeds away last season so it was radio leicester for that one. And no exageration, you could not hear the commentators (some would say that's a good thing 😂) towards the end. It sounded incredible. People dont like it but leeds are good . Cov are too from what ive seen although granted ive only ever seen them live against us, and they are bang up for it. It is English football in general, premier league especially but even tho im getting on, i still like to make a bit of noise and feel the energy from the crowd. If i wanted to sit quietly i could do that at home

Id agree to a point. The pens were very good when they were good but it wasn't constant. Intermittent with lulls. But away, we certainly have voices, especially in the past. I took a girl (who eventually became my daughters mum) to a couple of away games in league one and the championship years ago. Hereford and cov if i remember right. She was a football nut and her dad had taken her to man utd, cov, Newcastle, villa but she was amazed that the pub we were in before the game was bouncing .....and it was.....she loved it, especially when bernie came in and he was lifted up and sung to. I remember her being in a daze saying "i want to call someone so they can hear this!!" she said other teams she had seen had never created an atmosphere like it pre match and thought in the ground we matched any other team she had seen away. Its there, its in us. I just dont know why we dont do it all the time. Preston last season, Southampton this season. We need to bring that energy to every game .
-
Agree. I think this age thing is a bit bollocks to be honest. I've ranted about this before so i wont rant again. We dont have a huge amount of singers most of the time , ill accept that but from what ive seen when sk1 does make some noise its as much guys in 40s (like me) and 50s that sing as young uns. In fact i recognise a few faces from the old pens at filbo. Id say theres as many young uns on their phones not singing as there are old gits (i can say it as im old ) not singing.

I did too...... ..There were all these swedish women, and there was this sauna and.......oh about the football you mean? Wouldnt be the first 4-3 between us but this time, even if mads is out, I think we should just about have too much for them. They are shipping goals. Narrow, important win for the city

Well found!! 👍
