This Filbert Way sign, situated along the main walkway to the stadium, has been cleaned ahead of the new season. Good to see. (The image had to be cropped so couldn’t get the background in).

The original post doesn't make out he's been a value-for-money signing and already states that the transfer fee doesn't negate criticism. It was simply meant that the £20-25m price tag plays a factor in how he's viewed in my opinion.
-
Skipp has become a scapegoat because of the £20m transfer fee. That's not to negate criticism or to make out he's a good signing, but I doubt the level of criticism would be the same if he had signed for a lower fee. Skipp seems to get targeted more because he represents the club's recruitment in recent years, specifically when it comes to the handling of transfers. He's still relatively early into his Leicester career so shouldn't be written off completely in my view. Let's see how he does next season.

Preston North End v Leicester City Aug 16th

The ground plan suggests blocks M and N haven’t opened up yet, and the selling order states that these two blocks will become available once L block is sold. So it should make tomorrow. -

So at this stage it looks like the allocation will stay at 2.9k, which also ties in with what I've heard. The selling order listed doesn't currently include the blocks further along the stand. This is the issue with people waiting for certain blocks to open, because it probably doesn't show a high enough demand for the existing blocks. That being said, as a side note, the club's own ticketing strategy for away games doesn't help matters at all. -

The allocation last year was 5.6k, which is also what Arsenal, Leeds and Villa have been given since then. So for the current allocation, that would be an extra 2.7k tickets. The stand itself doesn't hold as many as 6.5k. -

Hopefully 2.9k is only an initial allocation and they open up the whole stand, especially with it being the first league away game of the season. Let's have a repeat of last year's backing for the new manager. -
I've often thought it would be good to have Umbro as our next kit supplier. They seem to make some nice shirts and of course this retro one is very smart.

Leicester’s most physically imposing player’s.

Surprised there's been no mention of our former title-winning captain! Especially given his nickname. -
Also the first club to wear poppies on shirts.

This was a good snippet to read from the latest article on the website. “I think for me, it was great to learn about the motto this Club has – ‘Foxes Never Quit’ – I think that defines me as well as a person. I’m identifying myself in this and, hopefully, this will be part of the team identity."

This is a good appointment in my view, and feels like the right fit for Cifuentes and the club. He's not going to have a full pre-season and with the expected integration of some of the academy talent in the coming campaign, patience is going to be required. It's been mentioned already that it would be nice to have a manager who sees through his contract, and my early impression is, that could well happen with Marti. Of course, there are going to be some well founded doubts, but that would be the same for any manager given the market the club has been working in. The conditions of the job at this moment in time meant it was going to be a real challenge for whoever took it on. Marti has shown a willingness to be here, so let's give him our full support.

Ruud Van Nistelrooy - Sacked - Official
FoxesTalker replied to moore_94's topic in Leicester City Forum
The club haven't been transparent with three managers now. My take on it is that Rodgers was allowed to believe he would able to refresh the squad in the summer of 2022, Maresca wasn't made fully aware of the club's financial situation, and van Nistelrooy was led to believe that signings were possible in January. However, do agree on the second point. -

Ruud unfortunately became another manager who was let down/misled by the board. However, this doesn't negate from his own performance as manager during the six months in charge last season. The players also need to take a huge amount of the responsibility for relegation, Cooper seemingly couldn't get them on side but then they proceeded to get even worse under a new manager. -
Dyche played for Watford in the first league game at Filbert Way in 2002. Nice little link there. He may not necessarily be the most exciting appointment, but if it does come off, crucially he could be the right appointment for the club's current predicament. His existing relationship with Rudkin would be a concern though, and of course his track record with young players/signings in general.

I was going to mention about Cifuentes before his name was brought up in the last two thread pages. Also feel he could be an option worth considering.

LCFC - Filbert Street photos (May 2003)

The club's website until recently had an impressive gallery of photos from Filbert Street. Unfortunately it's not available to view now. -
Some essential works going on this summer, taken from a recent article on the website… “We’re carrying out essential maintenance at King Power Stadium during the off-season, which means some areas on our usual tour route may be undergoing upgrades. We’ll still make sure you enjoy a great experience - but thanks for your understanding if a few parts of the stadium aren’t looking their best on your chosen date. Prefer to see the stadium in its fully refreshed state? We’ll be adding more tour dates from August onwards.” https://www.lcfc.com/pages/en/media-article/enjoy-a-king-power-stadium-tour-this-summer

Rob Edwards has previously had admirers in the board room. There’s a fair chance it will end up being someone like him because, the club’s standing aside, it’s going to come down to who is actually willing to take the job on.
