Slow and painful death. The Leicester way
-
To be honest, nobody can sort out our defence as there are clearly much deeper rooted issues within the club. If you look at the xG since Smith took over, whilst our xG for has gone up so has our xG against. To me that’s Smith and Co recognising our defence is shite and going for it with quick transitions as the only way to win a game. If we went back to the timid approach of tika taka in defence we’d end up doing what we did under Rodgers, not creating anything going forward and getting pressed into making mistakes. The only other option is the Dyche approach of 11 men behind the ball but we don’t have anyone like Doucoure or DCL who can effectively hold the ball up.

I clarified my point after, but if it gives the fans that extra 1% on the day it could make a difference. Whilst I’d love to just not turn up on Monday and be miserable, and I’ve accepted we’re down, I’m not going to stop supporting the team and I’ll be making as much noise as possible. Maybe, just maybe, other fans feel the same and want to try something different -
When your starting XI contains 2 out of contract players and 3 players that have been quoted as likely to leave in the summer you can see why there’s zero motivation. Couple that with a manager that has sucked all their confidence, ruined their fitness and tactically got them pissing about with the ball without really doing much it’s a recipe for disaster.

As per my point afterwards, it’s more about creating unity amongst the fans to create a better atmosphere during the game. No idea why every is getting so butthurt over it… don’t like it? Don’t go -

If it gets the fans motivated and up for it then I don’t see why it bothers either of you. Many of our younger fans won’t remember prior relegations so if it’s something that gives them a glimmer of hope I really don’t get why people care. As I’ve said, at least they are trying to get some togetherness going in what’s been a year of division. -

At the end of the day, by some small miracle we still have a glimpse of a chance of staying up. We need to still do our bit to push the players regardless of prior games. Not sure why people are being so negative about it, at least some people are trying to do something. -
Already started seeing this nonsense on twitter sadly.
-
The title winning band of brothers started this whole divide in the first place under Puel. It’s continued ever since. Not had the togetherness at this club for a long time.

I’m not one to quickly write players off but he simply is not cut out for the PL. As I’ve said before he has this bizarre tendency to try and always win the ball back, when sometimes the best thing to do is stand firm. The amount of errors he’s made, and the amount of times he’s been the last defender playing someone onside just tells me he doesn’t have a footballing brain.

I think having N’Didi with Youri and KDH means we don’t need him to think about passing too much and he can do his job of winning the ball back. If we played Mendy we’d need 5 at the back IMO which I think is too defensive given where we are in the league. -

They must’ve literally flown out straight after as they arrived at about 3am -

I’d go: Iversen Ricardo Souttar Soyuncu Castagne N’Didi Tielemans KDH Maddison Vardy Barnes We absolutely cannot afford to just sit back for this one, and whilst I’d love to drop the entire starting XI from Saturday we simply need the likes of Youri and Maddison to be able to string a pass together. -

Met the entire Liverpool team in Barcelona on Saturday night out on the piss. Let’s hope they have a week long hangover as that’s the only hope we have -
Did you not read the second part pal I said I can’t see it happening and I think we’re done. Don’t disagree with you.
-
The only thing we can hope for is a post Ranieri-esque performance where the players come out to prove a point. Can’t see it happening though personally and I’m generally an optimist. Think we’re done for now.

The loans are to improve liquidity, so from a cash flow point of view we will probably be in a bit of a mess. Having said that we will get a load of money from transfers which should be more than enough to cover us in the EFL. However I don’t think it’ll be sustainable to stay down with our training ground and the stadium expansion.
-
Zero desire shown. Feels like they’ve just turned up for a friendly. Absolutely stinking attitude from everyone and have no positives about that performance. Whilst I know it will probably screw us financially I feel like us going down is the only way to bin off the players that don’t genuinely want to be here.
-
Shocking attitude. Jogged about showing zero urgency or desire. The guy doesn’t give a toss. He’ll still get his £120k tomorrow and get his big money move in the summer.

Subs were far too late but aside from that I’ve been happy with how he’s approached games. You also have to remember he’s having to figure out the best XI as he goes along due to the time he’s had.
-
I rarely leave games early but when I do I always leave it as late as possible. Think I left with 15 seconds left to play as I knew the game was done and I had to drive back to London.
-
I’d go: Iversen Castagne Faes Soyuncu Kristiansen Soumare Tielemans Praet Maddison Barnes Vardy Although I’d love to see Daka start we also need to be mindful if one of him or Vardy gets injured we are truly screwed.
-
I thought we were very sloppy and lacked that control in the middle, which is disappointing when we played 3 CMs as well as Maddison. Felt we got done on the flanks time and time again too. I’ve been one of Maddison’s biggest critics this season but I actually felt he had a good game yesterday ignoring the penalty. He really did try and get stuck in, played some good balls and got in some good positions. Feel it’s harsh to put all the blame on him, but equally he hasn’t stepped up enough in the big games. Fulham now huge but arguably the best time to play them. No Ream, no Pereira, no Mitrovic and they’re not making Europe so hopefully they’re in holiday mode.

Did you not see Faes almost single handedly lose us the game in injury time with that bizarre run. Faes has his strengths but in my opinion he is far too rash and erratic to be a regular starter (unless we go down).
