280+ career appearances with 150 of them in the Premier League There’s of course the worry that he hasn’t played proper first team football in a couple of seasons but if he had been we wouldn’t be in the run in to sign him, hopefully he’ll come in with the bit between his teeth raring to go! Looks to be a leader, knows the English game and someone that the likes of Nelson and Aluko can tap into for advice and support etc. We could’ve signed worse

Rowett’s getting a lot of ‘he got sacked by Oxford’ shouts as to why people don’t want him which I completely get from looking at the outer picture. It’s worth noting that he got sacked in his second season there. In his first season he came in midway through the season replacing Des Buckingham and here’s his record from 20th Dec until the end of last season Games: 25 9 wins 8 draws 8 losses Other noticeable stat: 9 clean sheets There’s obviously the reality that he had L1 players with a point to prove instead of our prima-donna’s but if he gets into them and manages to make us harder to beat ( not difficult from where we’re at currently) then short term he could be an option!

With Daka out of contract in the summer & Evans having no minutes this season I really fear that he’ll get a 1 year extension! Massively kills our attacking momentum & a striker with more intelligence in their movement gets 1-2 today just by being in the right place for JJ/BDR and wingers crosses/cutbacks - we got into so many good areas!
