If my Nan had wheels, she’d have been a bike…
HP1 replied to Jakemoore's topic in Leicester City Forum
We forfeited the 2-0 lead when Rodgers decided to make a point to the board about not making any signings that summer, by substituting MOTM KDH and only him on a stifling hot day. Brentford made all 5 subs. We then lost the midfield battle and bottled the 2 nil lead in the last 10 minutes. This set the precedent for the rest of the season. Win that game then confidence begets confidence and more results and we are nowhere near the relegation battle. In summary, Rodgers ego and arrogance got us relegated. -
No managerial communication since relegation to L1 on 21st April

A small gripe from watching the documentary. I know they had to lean in to the underdog story for the benefit of the casual/non football fans, but it does annoy me when they parrot the "little ol' leicester" narrative that appears to also be ubiquitous within the old guard of the footballing fraternity. Rob Tanner was also guilty of this with his (paraphrased) "middle of the road, midlands clubs, who haven't won an FA cup or anything of note". They could at least have dropped in the fact we have a few league cup wins and previously made multiple FA cup finals. A mention to some other historic players like Banks, Shilton and Lineker that failed to get us over the line with big trophies in previous renditions may have actually added to it (or maybe not who knows). Perhaps the documentary was as it needed to be, it's just frustrating to constantly hear this diminishing rhetoric which often isnt articulated about similar sized clubs, as though we've been a league 1 team for most of our history.

Poch

Well was being facetious and almost exaggerating the point to prove the point on how far we've fallen, that managers of small clubs would have to think long and hard before coming here.
-
Would Mitch Austin take it?
-
We are where we are and all that
-
They are a boring football club, of the Burnley and West Brom ilk
-
If it was Rudkin in his earlier "coaching" days, he would have gotten all the way up to Middlesbrough and then forget to press record
-
Can't stand either of these teams after how their fans behaved in and around the ground and city, when they played us in a friendly at filbert street.

Harborough is fairly local to me and have never seen any other shirts other than Leicester. Considering its a quaint, market town I wouldn't be surprised if the others are just day trippers from further afield.

To be fair to those folk, there isnt much to shout about if you like sport and you're from Derby. Rubbish teams everywhere.

5000/1 Anniversary Match To Support Local Causes - Saturday 30th May

Intriguing to see if people still leave on 75 mins to beat the traffic with 3k in attendance -
That forest memorabilia would be in a cardboard box in the loft if they were back in the bottom half of the championship. Makes me laugh that over the last few years back in the Premier league you now hear loads of Forest fans piping up on talksport about random topics when previously you never heard a peep from them.

Scenes when they roll out Harry Winks as a player for the 2016 Prem XI and he puts in a world class performance, before proceeding to cup his ears to the 4,000 home crowd following a late winner. -
The club is ran akin to Trotters Independant Traders. When the man Rudkin goes off for their 4 week all inclusive holiday to the Carribean, his phone is off and nothing gets done.
-
Depends how you define world class. If its the best 22 players playing against eachother then maybe at the time Vardy and Mahrez just miss out as you had the likes of Messi, Bale, Ronaldo, Benzema etc. If its about whether these players could participate in the latter stages of a world cup or champions league without looking out of place then they were. Kante definitely meets both criteria. Gordon Banks as well as he was the best keeper around in the 60s and 70s.
-
Who won?
-
Hopefully they get beat. Dont like any English team winning big trophies in europe
-
You may jest but if you had 20k plus fans belting that out before the game its actually a more upbeat song than "when you're smiling". There's a few clubs that have a similar 70s style singalong song over the tannoy pre match, however much of a dirge it may be.

When assessing the vast proportion of the players we have signed over the last 5 years, one can only assume that the recruitment teams policy were to sign players who are; 1. Thick 2. Lazy 3. Weak 4. Entitled 5. Arrogant These viruses like Kristiansen have then spread their negativity and toxicity on to the other weak willed players already here. I dont think ive ever seen Kristiansen smile or say anything positive in the 3 and a half years hes been here. So many of our players look like they dont want to be here, and have never actually wanted to be here, and thats the main issue.

Fast forward to January 2027 when summer signing Ollie Norwood dismisses the prospect of us going down to league 2, when sat 20th in the table.
-
Comprehension not your strong point? Thats why I said "a few" of those stated.
-
I think it would have been £14m
-
Depends who signs him then
