Had an amazing final day in Etosha, Namibia. Went to a waterhole to see two male lions just chilling - the elder went down to get a drink, while the younger one stayed behind and played with a rock for 10 minutes, before getting some water himself and then following his brother (pretty sure they were young brothers) off into the bush. Then went on a drive around a pan and saw literally bugger all, apart from Nigel Pearson's favourite journalists (ostriches). Headed north to a part of the park i'd never been before, saw plenty of elephant and giraffe just munching on trees by the side of the road. Went on an excursion along the side of the main pan, and then unfortunately, due to a dicky tummy, one sneeze resulted in me, er, following through. I had to head about 3km north to a nearby toilet area (unfenced from wild animals) where there was a long drop for me to continue my bowel issues and to generally clean up the best I could. You would think that would put a downer on events - and usually it would. I headed back down south towards some more sophisticated toilets, but decided to stop off at a couple of unexplored waterholes on the way. The first one was tiny, with very little water in it, but it was occupied by giraffe, zebra and springbok. Suddenly they all got spooked - the zebra started making warning sounds as they darted away, the springbok ran off too, much quicker, and then the giraffe ran away in slow motion, as they do. I rolled forward a little bit in the other direction to try and see what caused the commotion - and out of the bush COMES A BLOODY LEOPARD!!!! Completely blown away. I then reversed back to the waterhole and switched off my engine, just watching her drinking in silence. Then she started walking in my direction!!! I reversed out of the way - and she walked right in front of me - like 10 feet, if that. Completely uninterested in me, just minding her own business, then disappeared into the bush. I was still in shock and trying to suppress little outbursts of excitement. And to think, if I hadn't shat myself I would never have seen a leopard (not quite as good as my grandad's "You wouldn't have been born if it wasn't for Adolf Hitler" story, but still). I sped along to the next waterhole down as she was heading in that direction, and sat and waited for her to appear. Sadly she didn't, but an elephant did - he was about 3 times the size of my car and was walking in my direction. He got to about 10 feet away and then I realised that we wasn't going to change direction, or at least stop, so I hastily had to move out of the way to avoid being trampled. All in all - what a day!

Currently on a 6 month trip around Southern Africa; lived in Cape Town for 3 months then spent a month in Gaborone, Botswana with family, and am now currently in Namibia. These are all taken with my Canon 70D Following are from Namibia Swakopmund 7 years ago, with my old LUMIX L10: And yesterday with my 70D:

Was in Coburg last night with nothing to do; ended up going to my nearest Ster Kinekor and seeing a fillum I knew absolutely nothing about (which is rare for me) - Whiskey Tango Foxtrot An American journalist is sent to Kabul to cover the war in Afghanistan, where she meets other journalists competing for stories to keep the war interesting. - perhaps a good example of marketing not doing the film justice. I went in knowing very little; particularly confused by the poster which suggested an entirely different film. Tina Fey was fantastic in a rather straight role. Martin Freeman needs to do as Scottish accent more often. Margot Robbie is profoundly beautiful. Alfred Molina is a great, if very understated actor, with perhaps the best lines in the film

What an incredible twazzock!!! Absolutely LOVE the fact they finished behind Arsenal. Baffled as to why they ever thought they were involved in the title race!! Hilarious

Sorry. Just double checked that. it's almost exactly THREE TIMES the amount we spent this season. Jesus H Christ.

Newcastle United have been relegated... Despite having spent more than double on players than the CHAMPIONS of the Premier League did this season.

eBookers.com and possibly Emirates too. Flew to Cape Town in January for a 3-month internship; a tourist visa in SA is only 90 days but I've got family up in Botswana so I booked the return flight for May 1st with the plan to extend the flight and do some more travelling should the opportunity come available. Everywhere I looked in the small print it stated that there would be a £100 charge for this, which I was fine with. Called up eBookers the other day (Emirates just directs you to the travel agent), agreed a return date of mid-June and the guy said he'd call back the next day as the system was having issues. He didn't call back or email, so I called yesterday to try and confirm and the new guy told me that you can only change your return flight to no later than 4 months after the outgoing flight. So basically I'd have to fly home 6 weeks earlier than planned. This 4 month bollocks has not been stated anywhere in the process so you can imagine I'm more than annoyed.

Best comment on there: Otherwise they're mostly all idiots

Am currently on my travels in Southern Africa (spent 3 months living in Cape Town, and am now up in Botswana visiting family and friends); obviously this is the worst possible time to be away from home!! Anyway, I'm desperate for somewhere to watch the match on Sunday so I asked a popular pub in Gaborone: We're flippin massive.

The real, actual Tom Hanks??

Thank you so much to whoever shared the Ross Kemp Origami.... Me and my American flatmate were in actual tears for at least 45 minutes last night... She doesn't even know who Ross Kemp is!!

Double bugger.

We did. Against Spurs. We equalised within a minute. We have. Against Spurs. Penalty in the last minute of the FA Cup? Absurd decision. Simpson's ludicrous sending off at Arsenal? There's no pressure worse than being at the bottom of the league. Coped pretty well with that

"Your turn to choose the team name Ian" I'm living in Cape Town with a wide range of internationals. The guy actually read it out when we came 5th! Got a big cheer from the rest of the pub!
