Mcateer? Wouldn't even use him to canon the free t shirts at half time! How on earth he can even get on the bench is mind boggling!

Something to cheer everyone up (April 1st)

Don't give them ideas! -
What happened to the mindset of our players.

Absolutely but it's Top that needs the bollocking there! In every department he seems absolutely clueless. He must also know who the main protagonists are by now and we need to get rid. Vardy will most possibly be going and no-one else, despite the age is good enough to have an opinion above the manager. Mind you, RVN needs to go too! New manager, new players, new authority, new start. -
We're going to be absolutely stuck with him. Who else is going to want to buy the plum and pay him anywhere near the wages that he's on?

Will Alves - loaned to Cardiff City

I agree with the exception of Mcateer. From what I've seen he's nowhere near good enough for the Championship let alone the Premiership. He's hardly got blistering pace, can't take a man on, can only pass backwards and sideways, whenever the ball reaches him the entire move usually breaks down. Get rid, make a little bit of money and save on the wages. Not even good enough for the bench in the Championship imo. Hopefully we'll have someone who's a better second fiddle to Fatawu, Mavididi or whoever. -
Who knows eh? I just find it all a bit creepy arse simpering bumlick.
-
Probably still better than Mr Sitter!

So, thank you Leicester City for letting me know it's International Greek Independence Day! We now know that someone's bought them an international events calendar to go with their political one! Whoopee, we could be getting inundated with such valuable information now. As much as I genuinely love the Greek people, this is no more than another example of corporate 'look how inclusive we are' nauseating creeping nonsense. Is it any wonder they're in a mess. I suppose you can't polish a turd but you can try and fool a few by sprinkling it in glitter? Stick to football!
-
What utter utter bollocks! I'd assumed that this sort of obsolete corporate crap had started to disappear years ago, all that's missing are phrases like 'blue sky thinking' and people walking round with filofaxes 🤣. The sort of people that turn out this brand of meaningless guff tend to just just talk a lot, achieve very little whilst commanding high wages, is Top really that thick? It's the verbal version of spending millions of pounds on a state of the art training ground and facilities but not giving due consideration to employing the best and most suitable coaching staff and professionals to man it. It's absolutely becoming clear now why the club is in such a mess. 'All fur coat and no knickers' is probably more appropriate old fashioned corporate speak for what's going on!

Ruud van Nistelrooy - New Manager - Official
volpeazzurro replied to moore_94's topic in Leicester City Forum
Absolutely. His reputation with a relegation and extremely poor results will have undoubtedly been tainted. Why wouldn't he hang on hoping for a golden handshake? He'd be stupid not to as if he gets another job it won't become as financially lucrative. -
Just keep Mr Backaway Faes and Mr WhereamI Justin out of the team and we might not lose quite so heavily!
-
You're assuming that there's 4m to burn, not only financially but PSR wise. I doubt therefore anyone will be going anywhere until the end of the season.
-
It won't be much different for him than sitting on the bench against us.

He's just one part of a much bigger problem to be honest. However, as for RVN, how come he's failing so badly when a team like Forest are performing so well? They've admittedly got a smattering of very decent players but hardly expensive world beaters are they? Not really difficult to see why really though. They've got a manager that organises well and plays a system to suit the strengths of his players in their best positions, no square pegs in round holes. Neither is he slavishly trying to play exactly the same brand of possession football that everyone else is trying to copy (without having the right players to do it) or mimic the Manchester City's and Chelsea's of this world. Instead Forest let such teams have the lion's share of possession then hit them on the break which includes two quick wingers poised and waiting to run at them. There used to be another team that wasn't interested in possession for possessions sake and who hit expensive teams on the break. So long ago now I'm struggling to remember who it was 🤔. However, even if we wanted to mimic our old style somewhat, RVN keeps playing 3 Chelsea Pensioners up top so breaking quickly is not really an option. I think the best we could do without Fatawu is to play 3 centre halves with Coulibally and Mavididi as wingbacks. Recruitment is clearly also to blame for several years now and this summer with Cooper was absolutely dreadful. Can't say I'm looking forward to going today, far too much of a hassle tbh.

I haven't seen anyone demanding? Merely a discussion and certain alternatives should you wish to choose to. That's the point of a forum, to discuss and sometimes let off a bit of steam.
-
They'd probably be a lot better if some of the other players around him ran around and tried also. He's wasted here.
-
Not a problem with a back 5 but ... Calamity James and Scary Mary on the right? Kristiansen and Thomas on the left? Coulibally and Okoli? Coulibally is a proven attacking right wing back whereas JJ is neither arsehole or watercress (he's proven to be crap at both). Okoli can play left sided centre half whereas Thomas is a midget and Kristiansen was written off by Maresca as third choice left centre half at best last year which is why he left!

If we want pace up front I hope we've ordered some rocket packs for their three zimmer frames then?
-
At least we score then, happy days!

We saw precisely what happened when Rodgers was given too much power! Both him and his useless sidekick Congerton who HE had brought are largely responsible for our downfall just as much as Rudkin. With the exception of Fofana, his transfer expertise was just as bad as it was at Liverpool. In the end he was largely relying upon the players he had inherited when he first came. The opposite side of the coin is arguably Chelsea and Manchester United. There has to be meaningful dialogue between manager and d of f for success I feel. The trio of Pearson, Shakespeare, Walsh and even Rudkin seemed to work at one time. Even Puel was very good in that respect.

I think the formation and other players are well worth a try don't get me wrong. I do think though that what we have learned is that with the personnel we've got and at this level, square pegs in round holes just isn't going to work and even in his favoured position, JJ has been suspect all season and in fairness I think confidence has been a contributory factor. Coady on the right of a three including Vestergaard and Okoli would be the three for me. Coady has played there and even right back before. Vestergaard when not playing a high line is acceptable and Okoli does seem to add some grit. Whether he'd cope on the left of a three who knows. On the bright side we do get to ditch Faes! 🤣

Whether Seagrave or St George's Park, it matters not a jot how good and 'state of the art' the buildings, pitches and facilities are if you don't have the right coaches, management and players with the requisite skills and more so, attitude and commitment. I sometimes wonder what our coaches have been doing one week to the next!

All true 👍🏻

Probably we can't because the payoff would land us in PSR trouble?
