Initially we had a great squad of players who managed it despite him. How many games initially were we poor for the majority of the match but in the second half later on, when they seemed to let lose and ignore his tactics did we pull through because we had the talent and fight to do it? The demise was coming almost from the start and you could see it and yes we were in Europe but we were crap and lost if you remember with poor performances. remember Rodgers moaning about going three nil up and all over West Brom at half time because we were too open and we reverted to his tippy happy sideways backwards approach all second half? Remember 9-0 against Southampton where on the return leg you’d have thought he’d field the same team and play the same way and let them do the worrying? Only he didn’t, he changed the team and played his brand of football? Then there was Norwich who couldn’t score let alone win and he set up defensively against them too! The writing was on the wall from the very start. -

He bought those players! He originally inherited a great squad. -

It really isn’t that bad. I’d sooner be back in Division 1 with Nigel than have Rodger’s here. Don’t think I’ve ever despised any Leicester manager more! -
Can you curse him again in ten minutes?
-
Flush the chain, it’s like white water rafting! Scary yet strangely exhilarating!
-
Oi, I resemble that remark! Never underestimate an old bloke with a blue flask, a twix, butter mints and a violent prostate!
-
I personally don’t think it was that at all. He was conned by Rodger’s admittedly and gave him the reigns. Blew over £250m on largely very poor signings. Where was the due diligence on Congerton, already a failure. Rodger’s stuck his nose in and changed recruitment that was previously successful, coaching and medical staff. The book stops at literally the ‘Top’. Vichai would have booted him out long before. His decision making has with the odd exception been just as bad since.

You nearly had me till the last sentence 😂
-
He can’t anyway because of psr but in the entire history of these owners, never have they thrown substantial funds at players. When the club was being properly run they didn’t have to, it was almost self funding through the sale of shrewd buying and selling. Super top and his incompetence put an end to all that.
-
Oh I don’t disagree with you there at all! The same even with the mega rich owners of Newcastle even! However, I think the mantra from the start with the owners was to make the club self sufficient and I think that was a right and proper thing to aim for. With regards to just player purchase they had to a large extent cracked it too. If you look back over the years, on players, they’ve never thrown a lot of money at it because they’ve largely improved by buying cheap and selling high to finance it and they did it well. However, under Top’s reign it’s failed because he changed the model! We’ve sold and bought very poorly until the golden goose is now all but cooked. Therefore, if in all these years they haven’t thrown money at players, notwithstanding par, even if he could, Top would be very unlikely to do so.
-
Absolutely but do you think he’s going to raid his personal investments to buy new players? If you look at the money that has been spent since he took over and in company with his sidekick Rodgers, the money spent on duff players has been raised by selling the good players bought before his stewardship.
-
And you really think he’s going to delve into his personal wealth to buy players?
-
But surely if Kingpower make no money then Top makes no money. So if Top has no money, surely it affects the stability of Leicester City? You can’t invest/spend what you don’t have and the clubs previously successful model of buy low sell high players to reinvest has completely gone under the stewardship of Top!

So how do you pronounce it correctly? -
They can anticipate him moving the ball and yes he does … about 3 yards back from whence it came or conservatively to one side. He achieves very little even if he doesn’t give the ball away.
-
He really isn’t mustard at all, he absolutely flatters to deceive, watch him closely and explain what he actually contributes! The good points are that his control and gathering of the ball is excellent. On first glance his stats are excellent too because he rarely gives the ball away but … if you scrutinise that further by actually watching him it’s because he merely passes the ball two or three yards in a very easy low risk pass time after time. How many times in the last game for example did he bellow out to one of his own players to pass him the ball like a midfield controller only to pass it straight back to him a split second later! One more brownie point for his personal stats, bugger all of a contribution for the team! He moves very little to create space to even attempt a decent pass. On the surface he looks neat and doesn’t give the ball away but actually he is largely a waste of space. There’s a reason he moved abroad from Spurs and it’s the same reason we got him, because no one else wanted him in the Premiership because he was transparent and got found out. He plays for himself and contributes very little. Neither in the last couple of games I’ve seen him play is he prepared to graft and put his foot in. Our midfield is clearly our Achilles heel, it neither creates or protects the defence.

Ex Players - They used to play for us

Only surpassed by just about all of Rodger’s signings, no there’s a man with the Midas touch (in reverse)! He managed to dismantle something special and turn it into long term uncertainty! -
Or Freemans Common.
-
It was also particularly dull due to certain players that didn’t seem bothered and who didn’t seem to want to fight for the cause. It’s not only the recruitment it’s also finally get rid of some of the weasels that are still here draining the life blood out of the club. In the days of Pearson, Walsh and Shakespeare, not only was a players talent looked into but seemingly his motivation and attitude also. This aspect of recruitment has gone badly ary for a few years now.
-
I think they’d speak in such a case if they knew one of their players or family were really ill and struggling and getting unfair treatment in the press, also I think the manager himself would have been diplomatic about the situation. The whole reason it came out in the first place was because of the players stance or behaviour.
-
I think it’s precisely the opposite way round, people are making up fictitious ‘what ifs’ in a desperate wish to support or back him! If there was any good reason ie illness on behalf of him or his family then the club would have surely backed him or disputed the media releases.
-
The sweet spot being playing in a tin pot poor league?
-
£30/£40 per week is fair to be honest.
-
I think this is less about struggling and more about not giving a toss. Struggling to stay over in 5* facilities for one night in a blue moon whilst on 80k+ a week? Behave yourself 😂. There was never any suggestion that his wife or child were ill or any other issues or we wouldn’t even have heard about it, any pressure due to longer hours caused by travelling is of his own making too.
