Mahmood would be interesting as well

This is why we don't get on. Love a square one. Oblong with next to no sticky between the edge and the pad? Useless. Proper wrong-un.

Do we think BDCR did the scouting here rather than the club??

Starmer says of course he has confidence in McSweeney. And he criticises Badenoch for questioning the integrity of the cabinet secretary. The vote of confidence is out. Thats McSweeney getting sacked in the morning, KS will get rid of him to save his own skin will be my guess.

Starmer says it was known that the friendship continued, and that is why Mandelson was asked about it duing vetting. Mandelson misrepresented the friendship, he says. Starmer says he did not know the extent of that friendship. (It is a matter of public record that the friendship continued, because the FT ran a story about Mandelson staying in Epstein’s flat after the first convicton.)

I agree with the 2 lines, but the third im not sure. I think we all knew what Epstein was like and the same with Mandelson. The releases are just confirming in writing what was known already. I can't fathom why he was appointed once KS realised he was still talking to Epstein after his conviction. Being friends before that could be passed off as "their old friend being a wrong-un", their current friend is more difficult when a public firgure.

End of Starmer as well. Rayner has been positioning today. Its been a fairly united house in PMQ's, with the majority of MP's agreeing with each other.

4.3 on google???

Most people have to weigh up whether the extra £10k per year they are being offered is worth the extra travel time and expense, plus the responsibility of a new role. This guy has to weigh up how to book a Premier Inn for a few nights a week for his extra £30k every 7 days. He will probably have to go out of his way to text his personal assistant to get them to organise it.

His tactics are shit though. Its just Marti ball again. If he mixes it up at the weekend then i'll rescind my comment, but if its the same formation with no plan to score then we will know he isn't the manager going forward.

Premier League has charged LCFC with an alleged breach of PSR

I do agree. But I have seen nothing to suggest that the PL/EFL don't have a real desire to punish the club. Im always of the opinion that the PL & EFL should want to avoid punishing clubs and that points deductions should be last resort. They appear externally to enjoy the relish of chasing clubs down and dishing out the points deductions. Look at Sheffield Wednesday as an outside observer. Is the actions of their owner punishment enough? Why is there never talk of the 'fans being punished' when it isn't a big 6 club? -

They will absolutely want maximum effect. The beauty being, if we are relegated then there is every chance we can have a points deduction every season for the foreseeable future. -

They need to get on with it. Then we can start a long appeal to the CAS that means no one will know who is relegated at the end of the season. -

In practical terms we can sign players, in real terms our options are completely different if it assumed a deduction is coming. The threat of deductions is a punishment in itsself, particularly with the media being so sure on us getting the deduction and the fact that it will be a large one. Im sure thats the reason (alongside our incompetance) that our managerial appointments have been so unispiring. -

Aren't there rules relating to how long this should take? Not being sorted before the transfer window is wrong as well the league know. -

The other way to look at it, can he do any less than ayew does in a game? I'd suggest it would be tough to do less -
Maybe page will play further up in a 4-1-4-1? Hopefully more effort as a minimum.

We were bidding over £20m for Harrison then got priced out. Then it turned out we didn't have any money anyway.

Probably worth thinking as well, if you could deliver 20% under market value houses, then a £350k semi, becomes £280k which is still out of reach of lots of people. You would need to be able to build for less than it costs to buy the materials without everything else to make it possible for everyone that works to get on the ladder.
-
IF the local authority could build themselves and we ignore the obvious deficiencies in ability and efficiency then I think the savings would be: 5-10% profit margin. (Most construction contractors have a lower margin than this, even if their target margin is higher) Labour costs the same, assuming that the standard self-employed model was used rather than salaried employee model? Materials the same. Consultants the same. Land the same assuming the LA would have the same years of experience in land buying that developers do. (they wouldn't) Exempt from building safety levy, but not bng or landfill tax. The cheapest and quickest way to bring properties to market is permitted development apartments in old office buildings. LA's should be looking at this rather than shoe-box houses IMO. The projects would probably take longer so the 5% saving would probably be a loss.

They have cancelled a load of infrastructure as well hence the industry being so quiet. The big issue is I can't see the housing market recovering soon, there is so little confidence economically that people are being cautious. It's also exacerbated by the number of private landlords leaving the market, so it's a buyers market at present. Another snippet I discovered this week is the doubling of landfill tax and the new building safety levy. My guess is these 2 will add £4-5k to the cost of a new build house in Leicestershire, it will be much higher in London. It's just more stealth tax that is going to inhibit growth IMO.

I know. Its trying to balance some of the good news stories against the backdrop of rising unemployment, redundancies and companies going bust that is difficult. Its almost a daily occurance seeing a contact being made redundant and struggling to find work. Its probably worse as I work in construction and the sector is doing particularly poorly. Build baby build they told us.

Can't afford him....
