  1. My additions would be City and tigers (more city) Curve Great central railway Twycross zoo (bit shit these days...) Bird land Melton mowbray and it's food Foxton locks Golden mile Diwali celebrations They are just the ones that spring to mind after a quick think. Foxton locks attracts over 400000 visitors a year. Why do Leicester people like shitting on their own county?
  2. https://www.thebusinessdesk.com/eastmidlands/news/2088775-2.4bn-tourism-boost-for-leicester-and-leicestershire New figures have revealed that the the tourism sector in Leicester and Leicestershire is now worth almost £2.4bn. The figure relates to activity in 2023 and is up by 15.5% on the 2022 figure of £2.07bn. Over 31.28m people visited the city and county in 2023, an increase of 2.46% on the previous year’s figure of 30.53m. Of these numbers, the county welcomed 21.04m visitors whilst 10.24m visited the city. The number of visitor days rose to 38.53m, up 2.34% on the 2022 figure of 37.65m – with 24.62m visitor days in the county and 13.91m in the city during 2023. The new figures also show that the number of tourism-related jobs is on the rise, with more than 22,923 people now employed in the visitor economy sector across the city and the county – an increase of 8.96% on 2022. In the 2019 (pre-pandemic) figures, visitor numbers for the city and county totalled 35.37m, the economic impact was £1.962bn and 22,714 people were employed in the sector. The tourism figures for Leicester and Leicestershire are taken from the 2023 Scarborough Tourism Economic Activity Monitor (STEAM) survey. The positive tourism results have been welcomed by City Mayor Peter Soulsby and County Council Acting Leader, Deborah Taylor. Leicester City Mayor Peter Soulsby said: “The economic value of tourism in Leicester continues to grow which is excellent news. The growth we’ve seen in tourism-related jobs gives a huge boost to our economy, as do the millions of visitors who come here and spend their money with local businesses. These figures show that our investment in making the city centre an attractive place that’s easy to get around has been well worth it. They also reflect the hard work of everyone involved in the tourism and hospitality sector in our city.” Leicestershire County Council acting leader, Deborah Taylor, said: “This is great news and shows that the city and county are on the up. Whether it’s discovering history, tasting world-famous cuisine or trying more active escapes such as kayaking, we are a top visitor destination. And with 21 million people visiting the county last year, spending money in hotels, restaurants, attractions and local shops, enabling businesses to grow and more jobs to be created, it’s an important boost for our local economy. “Leicestershire is an excellent place to live, invest and visit and I’m pleased that more people are enjoying the wealth of attractions on our doorstep.” Erika Hardy, chair of the Tourism Advisory Board for Leicester and Leicestershire, said: “We welcome this new data which is further evidence to prove that we have a thriving and vibrant tourism and hospitality sector locally, full of people passionate about our city and county. The campaigns run over recent years to promote Leicester and Leicestershire as a fantastic destination for visitors have really highlighted the huge number of reasons to visit.”
  3. St Johns storage is £80pm for a container. My wife uses it for work and says its a good facility. https://stjohnsselfstorage.co.uk/prices
  4. All guesswork I suspect. Allowable losses will be subjective as costs are muddled through the club. We can claim high and the PL can claim low. It also allows the PL to give certain clubs an easy ride. Hence the Man Utd COVID losses being so different to anyone else's, or Chelsea doing what they do to avoid PSR. Either way, it doesn't seem clearcut and the club appears to have felt it was easier to argue using the rules as they have. Having read the PL statements they were gunning for us.
  5. I did wonder if the BBC had it wrong. The reality is no one has seen our PSR calculation and I'm confident that the club will have submitted one that shows we comply. I suspect that the PL will then argue that some of our claims are not valid or they disagree with the values hence the alleged breach.
  6. Leicester were charged for allegedly breaching Rule E.49 of the Premier League PSR regulations because their three-year rolling losses of £129.4m, up to the end of the 2022-23 season, were £24.4m over the allowed threshold of £105m. Assuming the above is correct from the BBC website, we would need to find £24.4m of allowable deductions in that 3 year period. I would guess at the following being claimed: £10m - final payments for construction of Seagrave £5m per year towards the womens football team including the running costs of Belvoir Drive £5m per year towards youth development £1m per year for charitable donations Total £43m. The above could be higher than these figures, so the assumption that we have breached has always been incorrect as haven't ever presented a case to the Premier League, hence it is referred as an alleged breach. To add to the point of Simon Jordan, Stefan Borson is their football finance expert and his appearance last week he was sure that we were looking at big deductions. So it goes to show that all those that are convinced of the clubs position don't have a clue.
  7. If Winks was carded for moaning then surely it was dealt with on the field. It was hardly the worst behaviours from players after contentious decisions, they had a moan at the ref, one got carded then it went on. There wasn't even much moaning after full-time.
  8. We love it there, its actually reasonably priced for a European capital I found. We loved the food market, the bars, trivoli gardens, Nyhavn and Christiana were all great to visit. Last time we went it was too busy though.
  9. The 3-4 pages of detailed reporting is more useful than a pointless score.
  10. Its already broken down into different areas with a detailed 5-6 page report that tells you about the school. The reports are a very detailed summary IMO. The issue with the case in the BBC article is as follows which makes it different from the regular grading system. Under the current system, concerns about safeguarding lead to an automatic bottom grade, and often the head teacher losing their job.
  11. Id be starting ayew up front instead of vardy. He has been very good up to now.
  12. It's not dropping. A manager that thinks a 38 year old playing 90+ minutes every week is an idiot or is desperate.
  13. Got to the ticket page for Dublin at 8.30. Still not managed to buy a ticket.
  14. Must have been a shift at the club to get so many out this time round. Wonder if they were asking too much in loan fees before.
  15. I assumed this was Barrow Town. Decent move for him
  16. I want tickets but its expensive and im not convinced it won't just be them on stage going through the motions. Saw them at Cardiff in 2007ish and it was very much like that.
  17. I saw that. It's reaching hard isn't it? It includes all costs, including £12bn spent on the cigarettes themselves. Even if you include all costs to the state it would be under £4bn.
  18. It's the opposite. £10b in taxation Vs £2.6b in cost to the NHS.
  19. Agreed. Totally different once he has the ball. I suspect Cooper took 1 look at him and thought no, too small. I suspect he isn't keen on Ricardo for the same reason.
  20. Hopefully he has a January recall in case the new manager has any interest in him.
  21. I think he is our best prospect and he ends up at Dundee.
  22. We aren't even the Leicester of 2023-24.
  23. Every so often it's like he is still here and there are some nice patterns of play. You can tell Kristianson never played under him. I guess cooper will gradually coach it out them but it's clear when Fulham got tired and stopped pressing an Enzo build up would be effective.
  24. Knaresborough is great. Really good restaurant scene as well.
