You have to look beyond the obvious. Then you'll realise that on many different levels, some very subtle and deeply cognitive, it isn't funny.

I would add, almost all Grandaddy, Pixies, The Cure, New Order, Neil Young, Pearl Jam, Spiritualized, Mercury Rev, Radiohead, REM, Ash, Portishead, My Bloody Valentine (I knew I'd forget one! Loveless!) albums. To date, all Fontaines DC albums are superb.
