  4. 50 year old comedy shows or Mrs Browns Boys, your pick.
  5. I'd support the Tigers more. Couldn't support another football team.
  6. I think I may have found Cheese's dinosaur. Giant purple dinosaur caught fly-tipping on CCTV in Southend - BBC News https://share.google/PpDm77m1pNxBbgoaX
  7. But he's right... We play football, not soccer.
  8. And Switzerland thanks him for that. Almost 180 years of peace, all thanks to Trump!
  9. By what measure does FIFA award a peace prize? Where is their expert panel and how have they collected and collated the data to come to this decision? What next? The FIA giving awards for environmentalists? The IOC award for physics? The NBA arts prize? The LTA single of the year? Stick to the football Giovanni.
  10. Yeah, but he scored goals. Edit: from his style of play though, I think he'd struggle to score in this team.
  11. Helloooooooohooooooo!
  12. Wow, just wow! But I for one welcome our benevolent new overlord
  13. CDs or from earlier, flimsy plastic singles, on the covers of music mags

  15. That's "things you never hear anymore."
  16. Worst player I've ever seen in a City shirt, was only a loan who got sent back after only a few games.
  17. Also 'Nothing else looks like them': Saving Japan's exceptionally rare 'snow monsters' - BBC Future https://share.google/QLC0j476VDLnK767w Looks amazing and might sadly pass into memory.
  18. What is the point of doing anything for the environment when there's morons doing stuff like this? Trump administration to roll back fuel economy rules set under Biden - BBC News https://share.google/3DuX8gWddYDgnHTEM
  19. Cos he'd walk it by a country mile.
  20. I know you did, but also it's crazy... Who was our last bad forward who happened to be white (and got regular playing time, cos you could say Kramaric, but he didn't ever really feature.) Honestly, I think you need to go back to Martin Henderson.
  21. Yeah, it can be very difficult to convey complex ideas to the average (and remember, by definition at least half the world is below average) person (which has just made me chuckle, the idea that there must be 1 person on the Earth who actually is average Jo(e) ).
  22. I'm not talking about the scientific method, that's bulletproof. I'm talking about scientists, who are human and prone to mistakes, pride, greed, etc. I wouldn't say that for every Bohr there's a Mengeles, but there still whackpot scientists about. Hence scientists are not an absolute truth and they are the presenters of science to the common people. Which is why personal truths, even with science.
  23. TBH, the scientific community can be just as guilty of personal truths, especially if they are working for a company or government that expects certain results. Modestly I'd also add that historically scientists have believed they had an understanding of a subject only for someone to come along and change that understanding. 1000 years from now, who knows. I often think that Sci-fi movies are very limited in their visions of the future.
  24. The truth shall make ye fret - Ankh-Morpork Times. But for me, two telling quotes are... A lie will travel halfway round the world before the truth has even got its shoes on. What is truth? The later one pointing out that most people have their own personal truth, not based on anything other than belief and perception. Both of which can be wrong.
